Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath

Singapore may be surrounded by water, but most of us have never seen what lies beneath the ocean’s surface beyond a snorkelling trip or aquarium visit. A new exhibition at the ArtScience Museum is about to change that.

Opening from 6th June 2026, Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath takes visitors on a deep-sea adventure through some of the least explored parts of our planet. Created in collaboration with OceanX, the immersive exhibition combines real scientific research, interactive experiences, contemporary artworks and actual deep-sea specimens to reveal what exists far below the waves.

From piloting a research submersible and exploring coral reefs to encountering strange creatures that live in permanent darkness, the exhibition offers a rare glimpse into underwater worlds that few humans have ever seen.

What to expect at the exhibition

Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath brings visitors from the ocean surface to its darkest depths.

oceanXImage credit: OceanX

The experience begins aboard OceanX’s research vessel, the R/V OceanXplorer, where visitors step into a simulated deep-sea expedition. After entering a submersible, guests descend through different layers of the ocean, each revealing a unique ecosystem and the creatures that call it home.

Unlike traditional exhibitions that rely heavily on text panels, Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath uses sound, visuals, scent and interactive technology to help visitors experience what scientists encounter during real ocean missions.

Explore coral reefs & marine life in the sunlit Photic Zone

The first major section, known as the Photic Zone, focuses on the upper layer of the ocean where sunlight reaches the water.

Coral Reefs

Here, visitors will encounter vibrant footage of coral reefs in the Red Sea, one of the world’s warmest marine environments. The exhibition explains how coral reefs support around 25% of ocean species despite covering only a small portion of the seafloor.

game

One highlight is Dive and Discover, an interactive game where visitors take control of an OceanX submersible and race against time to identify marine life across different reef zones.

The exhibition also shines a spotlight on local marine ecosystems.

ecosystem

Research from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum at the National University of Singapore features reef core samples collected from Cyrene Reef, Pulau Semakau, and Pulau Hantu.

These samples act like natural time capsules, allowing scientists to study how Singapore’s reefs have adapted to changing environmental conditions over approximately 8,000 years.

Visitors can learn how researchers analyse layers of coral, sand and sediment to piece together the story of Singapore’s underwater landscapes.

invisible ocean

One of the exhibition’s more unusual experiences comes in the form of Invisible Ocean by Norwegian artist Sissel Tolaas. Rather than relying on visuals, the installation uses specially created smellscapes based on ocean samples collected from Costa Rica’s coastlines.

The scents help visitors experience aspects of marine biodiversity that are usually invisible to humans, revealing how smell can tell stories about environmental conditions, marine life and ecological change.

For those who enjoy immersive exhibitions that engage more than just sight and sound, this is likely to be one of the most memorable stops.

Become a marine detective with eDNA

One of the more hands-on experiences in the Photic Zone is eDNA Detectives, which introduces visitors to a scientific tool that is transforming how researchers study marine life.

enviromental

Environmental DNA, or eDNA, refers to tiny traces of genetic material that living things leave behind in the water, such as skin cells, scales, mucus and waste. By collecting seawater samples, scientists can identify which species have recently passed through an area without ever seeing them in person.

interactive exhibit
The interactive exhibit lets visitors step into the shoes of a marine scientist, collecting and analysing eDNA samples to uncover hidden marine biodiversity. It is a simple but eye-opening way to understand how researchers can detect everything from tiny plankton to elusive predators using nothing more than a water sample.

Flock Of turns floating balloons into a digital school of fish

Further into the Photic Zone, visitors will come across Flock Of by Thailand-based creative technology studio bit.studio.

fish

At first glance, the installation looks like a collection of helium balloons suspended from the ceiling. Look closer, however, and the balloons move together like a living school of fish, constantly shifting and changing direction.

Each balloon reacts independently while remaining connected to the movement of the larger group, creating a mesmerising display that mirrors how fish navigate the ocean. Visitors can also influence the installation through their presence, causing subtle changes in the behaviour of the floating “fish”.

The artwork offers a playful visual reminder that marine ecosystems depend on cooperation, communication and constant adaptation.

Twilight zone
As visitors descend further into the Twilight Zone, the focus shifts towards ocean systems that influence life on a global scale. A standout installation is Seeing Echoes in the Mind of the Whale by UK-based collective Marshmallow Laser Feast.

Using underwater recordings, scientific research and immersive projections, the artwork recreates how whales perceive their surroundings through sound and vibration. The installation offers a fascinating perspective on how marine animals navigate vast ocean environments without relying on vision the way humans do.

Lucida transforms light into an ocean-inspired landscape

In the Twilight Zone, visitors can experience Lucida by American artist Lachlan Turczan.

lucidia
The immersive light sculpture fills the space with shifting beams that bend, ripple and reform in response to movement. Instead of feeling like a static artwork, the installation behaves almost like a living environment that changes as people move through it.

Inspired by physics and the movement of waves, Lucida encourages visitors to think about forces that are usually invisible, whether in the ocean or in everyday life. The flowing patterns of light create the sensation of being surrounded by currents, making it one of the exhibition’s most visually striking photo opportunities.

Aphotic

Things get even stranger in the Aphotic Zone, the part of the ocean where sunlight never reaches. This section showcases exclusive OceanX footage and real specimens from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, introducing visitors to some of the ocean’s most unusual residents.

Expect to encounter creatures such as vampire squid, headless chicken monster, atolla jellyfish, squat lobster, Japanese golden crab, and deep-sea shrimp. The exhibition explains how these animals survive in extreme environments with crushing pressure, near-freezing temperatures and complete darkness.

resurface

The final section, Resurface, shifts the conversation from exploration to conservation.

Through an interactive experience called Seagrass Stories: Help the Ocean to Heal, visitors participate in virtual seagrass restoration activities such as planting shoots and stabilising underwater habitats.

oceanx missions

According to the exhibition organisers, visitor participation will support the development of a seagrass nursery prototype linked to conservation initiatives across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.

The section also highlights the scientists, researchers, and explorers behind OceanX’s missions, offering a closer look at the people working to better understand and protect the ocean.

Is it worth heading down to Into The Ocean?

exhibitions

Many ocean-themed exhibitions focus on marine animals alone. Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath takes a broader approach by combining science, art, technology and conservation into a single experience.

Visitors not only get to see rare marine life but also learn how ocean currents regulate climate, how coral reefs survive environmental changes and why deep-sea ecosystems matter to life on Earth.

school of fishes
The mix of interactive games, immersive artworks, real specimens. and scientific research makes it accessible for families, students and curious adults alike. Plus, it’s like going diving without needing a PADI license!

Journey into the ocean with this new exhibition

For anyone who has ever wondered what exists beyond the reach of sunlight beneath the ocean’s surface, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore one of Earth’s last great frontiers without leaving Singapore.

Between piloting a submersible, smelling ocean ecosystems, meeting bizarre deep-sea creatures and learning how the ocean supports life on our planet, there’s plenty to keep both kids and adults engaged. Shiok for a weekend outing, especially for those who enjoy interactive exhibitions that go beyond simply looking at displays.

Skypark Sentosa at Siloso Beach

Mention Sentosa island and you’ll likely picture tranquil waves and vibey beach clubs. There’s a place for adrenaline junkies too, fret not. Situated at Siloso Beach is Skypark Sentosa, an adventure park which many of you may remember previously as AJ Hackett Sentosa.

The attraction was closed for a couple of months earlier this year, but ZJ Adventures has relaunched Skypark Sentosa with 2 new slides. The bungee jump still stands, waiting for you to conquer it and check it off your bucket list of the most adventurous activities in Singapore. There’s also a giant swing here, where you and up to 2 buddies can soar through the sky at the same time like a bunch of flying squirrels.

Meanwhile, thrill-averse peeps can chill at the Summerhouse Beach Club over pizza and cocktails.

Bungy Jump

Skypark Sentosa Bungee Jump

Skypark Sentosa’s attractions are a daredevil’s dream come true. The highlight is none other than the Bungy Jump, towering at 47m tall. To put it into perspective, that’s roughly the height of a 17-storey HDB building.

Skypark Sentosa Siloso Beach

After taking in a gorgeous panoramic view of Sentosa, you’ll be plummeting into a free-fall that lasts 2.5 seconds. While that may seem short, we guarantee that you’ll feel as if you’re soaring through the air for much longer, and that surge of adrenaline is no joke.

Skypark Sentosa Bungee Jump Pool

Fun fact: you can request for the staff to adjust the length of your bungee cord so that the tension will kick in when you’re still in the air, or after you’ve had a little dip in the pool below. We opted for the latter and it was a mighty refreshing end to such a wild jump.

Skypark Sentosa Tandem Bungee Jump
Need a buddy for moral support? They offer a Tandem Bungy option where 2 pax are rigged up side by side.

Book tickets for Bungy Jump or Tandem Bungy at Skypark Sentosa.

Giant Swing

Skypark Sentosa Giant Swing

If you’re a little too faint-hearted to take the plunge, you can still get major airtime by taking Skypark Sentosa’s Giant Swing. Think of it as a next-level Flying Fox ride, where up to 3 people can swing across the track at speeds reaching 120km/hr. You’ll also get a lovely view of Siloso Beach from a vantage point 45m off the ground.

Book tickets for Giant Swing at Skypark Sentosa.

Skybridge

Skypark Sentosa Skybridge

For those who want to take in the same stunning scenery but would very much prefer to have their feet planted on land, go for the Skybridge option. It’s like an overhead bridge, except you’ll have 360° unobstructed views of the beach, instead of some random expressway.

Skypark Sentosa Skybridge Glass
Step into this glass-floored nook if you want to conquer your fear of heights head-on.

Similar to the bungee jump, the Skybridge is also 47m tall. It measures 40m end to end, making for a leisurely stroll with plenty of photo ops from all angles. It’s also open to all ages, so invite your entire family.

Book tickets for Skybridge at Skypark Sentosa.

SkySlides

Skypark Sentosa - skyslides

The newest attractions on the block are the bright blue and orange Skyslides. Standing at 44m as Southeast Asia’s tallest dry slides, this new introduction offers more thrills at Skypark Sentosa.

This is the only ride that requires one to enjoy it individually, but fret not, as you’ll be accompanied by UV neon lights and music providing the vibes for a fun ride down. You can personalise your experience by choosing from different themes like ‘Space’ and ‘Disco’.

Skypark Sentosa - skydrop

First up, you’ve got Skydrop. As the name suggests, the experience starts with a 2-second drop where the landing simply opens into an abyss before quickly transitioning into the slide’s curved path.  This one’s truly for the adrenaline junkies as it’s the faster of the 2 slides.

Trust me, the anticipation of the drop is a lot more nerve-wracking than the actual ride itself. Completely doable! Plus, you’ll get a GoPro mounted on your helmet so you get to relive the experience over and over again with the video you get at the end.

Skypark Sentosa - The Big Klook Slide

The Big Klook Slide, on the other hand, is a lot more chill, with the speed being slightly slower than Skydrop. Also, the top half is transparent, so you’ll get to admire panoramic views of Sentosa on your way down.

Skypark Sentosa - blue and orange skyslides

Tip: Time your ride during the evening and you’ll get stellar views of the sunset.

Summerhouse Beach Club

Skypark Sentosa Beach

All those high-adrenaline activities are sure to get your tummy rumbling. Head over to Summerhouse Beach Club to chow down with a wonderful view and idyllic beach vibes.

A popular pick is their range of 10-inch pizzas, priced from $21. Topping choices include Hawaiian, beef pepperoni, vegetarian, and seafood. They also serve mains like Fish & Chips ($22), Greek Lamb Skewer ($26), and Mushroom Aglio Olio ($19).

In terms of bevvies, the bar has a selection of cocktails ($18) as well as mocktails ($11). We hear the Lychee Margarita and Virgin Passionfruit Swizzle – which are alcoholic and non-alcoholic, respectively – are particularly refreshing.

You’ll even get to watch the thrill-seekers leaping off the bungy while you sip a cold one.

How do you get to Sentosa?

Skypark Sentosa Express

Although Sentosa is an island, you won’t have to board a ferry to get there from mainland Singapore. Simply take the MRT to Harbourfront Station, which will connect you to VivoCity mall. Head to Level 3 to find the Sentosa Express, a monorail train service that shuttles visitors between the mall and Sentosa.

Standard admission costs $4/pax, but local residents holding onto TransitLink cards – AKA your trusty EZ-Link – will get to tap in for just $2/pax. Kids with child concession cards get to enter for free, as do children who are below 0.9m tall.

To get to Siloso Beach, hop off at Beach Station, the last of 3 stops from VivoCity Station. The Sentosa Express train operates daily from 7am-12am.

Is Sentosa free to enter?

Sentosa charges an admission fee, and that amount is actually what you pay for when you hop aboard the Sentosa Express. For visitors driving in, your admission will be charged via your CashCard when you drive through the entrance gantry.

For off-peak periods, which are 11.30am-1.30pm and 5.01pm-6.59am daily, admission is $2/vehicle. Meanwhile, peak hours of 7am-11.29am and 1.31pm-5pm will incur an admission fee of $6/vehicle. And yes, the admission charge will apply for guests entering via taxi or private hire rides; it’ll just be tagged onto your regular fare.

Head to Skypark Sentosa for an adrenaline-filled beach outing

Skypark Sentosa - helmets and gopros

While Skypark Sentosa is certainly paradise for thrill seekers, there’s something for everyone; those who wanna chill by the beach over some hearty nosh and drinks, families who want to have an active day out, and couples who want to bring their dates to new heights.

Sentosa itself is brimming with things to do, so make the most out of your trip by also hitting up nearby attractions like Sentosa Sensoryscape – a free-admission IG-worthy attraction comprising 6 aesthetic gardens, and Skyline Luge, where you’ll be able to zip around and race your friends Mario Kart-style.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East

The hullabaloo about Rainforest Wild Asia, it seems, is not ready to die down yet, because an entire new wing has just opened on 20th May 2026. Formerly known as Rainforest Wild Asia & Africa, the entire park will henceforth be known as Rainforest Wild Adventure, which we think certainly has a catchier ring to it.

Spread over Mandai East and Mandai West, you’ll have to take a shuttle bus between the 2 zones, or walk via a sheltered walkway – both sections are included in every Rainforest Wild Adventure park ticket.

What is Rainforest Wild Adventure?

Inspired by Afro-tropical & Madagascan landscapes

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Map

This latest East Zone phase of the Rainforest Wild park officially rounds out the 5th and final zoological park that makes up Mandai Wildlife Reserve Singapore. As its earlier name suggests, it’s inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan rainforests, complementing its Asian counterparts in the half of the park that we’ve already seen.

It adds 7 extra hectares of zoo to the original 13ha Rainforest Wild Adventure West.

Choose between leisurely strolls or rugged hikes

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Elevated walkways

If you’ve been to Rainforest Wild Adventure West before, you’ll know that you can explore the park either via forest treks or canopy boardwalks. Similarly, Rainforest Wild Adventure East gives you the option to veer off the sheltered, stroller-friendly elevated walkways to try out on-the-ground hikes.

Should you visit Rainforest Wild Adventure East or West first?

Rainforest Wild Adventure East

Your ticket includes entry to both the East and West zones of the park, and you should definitely allocate a full day to explore both zones.

Comparing the 2 zones, the West is centred around dense jungle exploration with rugged, off-the-beaten-path trails traversing logs and streams, while the East zone has more Adventure+ activities and shorter hikes.

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, it’s recommended to hit up the West zone first. The rugged jungle treks serve as the perfect warm-up before the midday sun hits, so you’ll still have energy to conquer the remaining Adventure+ activities over in the East.

Mixed-pace families with young children and older relatives can start from the East zone for early morning animal viewings and unhurried walks along the sheltered elevated walkway, before checking out the West zone with energy levels in mind.

If it might rain on the day, plan according to the weather forecast – the West zone is fully outdoors, while the East is sheltered. Adventure+ activities throughout the 2 zones will be suspended while the lightning alert is on, with the exception of the enclosed Cavern Crawl. As for the caged Split Rock Summit, which is lightning-proofed, its operation will depend on how heavy the downpour gets.

What to pack when visiting Rainforest Wild Adventure?

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Entrance

Secure, closed-toed shoes without high-platform soles are required for all Adventure+ activities, and there’ll be a good amount of walking involved, so your choice of shoes is key.

In case your shoes don’t meet the requirements for the Adventure+ activities, there are shoes you can borrow for free at each station too.

Do bring along a water bottle, cap, sunscreen, handheld fan, poncho, and insect repellent. Lockers are provided for free at each Adventure+ attraction, so you don’t need a designated bag watcher for the day.

We suggest lightening the water load though, because there are water refill stations near all washrooms.

Consider attaching a wrist strap to your phone if you’d like to capture some memories on elevated walkways and rides without worrying about your device plunging several metres into the foliage below.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Mandai Wildlife Reserve App (1)

We’d recommend downloading the Mandai Wildlife Reserve App (App Store | Google Play) before your visit to check the operation and wait times of the Adventure+ attractions and refer to the handy map all on your device.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Mandai Wildlife Reserve App (2)

Pro tip: Book a time slot for the Canopy Glider before your visit. It’s the only Adventure+ activity that requires advance booking, and you can do it through the app or by scanning the booking QR codes at the entrance and around the park.

What can you expect at the new Rainforest Wild Adventure East?

See the 1st okapis in Southeast Asia

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - okapi

Each of the zoological parks boasts iconic wildlife species, and this latest wing is not to be outdone – their creature of honour is the okapi, an endangered species from the Congo in Central Africa. Rainforest Wild Adventure is the 1st Southeast Asian zoo to house these zebra-striped-legged mammals.

Yes, we will host 4 of them – 2 pairs, recommended for breeding, who’ve been flown in from European zoos in a coordinated conservation initiative.

You can find these Congolese giraffes, as they’re otherwise known, in the Hidden Forest.

Discover more animals in 4 themed zones

Besides the okapis in the Hidden Forest, there are 3 other themed zones to explore with more animals to spot.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - otter

First up, squee at the cute pygmy hippos and otters over at the Riverine Forest.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - African Painted Dog
African painted dog.

Next, at the Red Ravine, look forward to seeing some forest predators and prey, like the African painted dog, Eastern bongos, red river hogs, and Nile lechwes, which are an endangered species of antelope from South Sudan and Ethiopia.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Estuarine Crocodile
Estuarine crocodile.

There are some massive crocs in this area too, like the Estuarine crocodile and Sunda Gharial – they can grow up to 6m long.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Ring-tailed lemurs
Ring-tailed lemurs.

Then, head over to Lemur Land, inspired by Madagascar. Similar to the walk-through aviaries at Bird Paradise, this zone is completely enclosed within vast netting, which you’ll have to enter through double doors.

Here, you’ll be able to get up close to 3 different species of free-roaming lemurs.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Yellow-billed stork
Yellow-billed stork.

Watch out for the resident birds too, which may fly close to you. One of the crested couas even smacked us on the face with its feathery wing as it flew past.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - White-faced whistling ducks

We also spotted some white-faced whistling ducks, which produce a high-pitched 3-note whistle instead of quacking.

5 treks to complete

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - trek map and entrance

There are 5 short treks you can find in the park for a different, closer view of the animals. You’ll spot signs like these marking the entrance of the treks.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - trek

Unlike Rainforest Wild Adventure West, the treks at the new East zone are shorter, less forested, and not as adventurous, so they wouldn’t drain too much of your energy.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Split Rock Trek

There are some awesome photo spots like this one at the Split Rock Trek. They’ve even provided phone stands for you to slot your device into, so you can easily snag a timed selfie with the whole massive rock, split in half right across the middle, serving as your backdrop.

Try out 5 new Adventure+ activities

If you recall, we did a guide on Rainforest Wild Adventure West, formerly known as Rainforest Wild Asia. That part of the park housed 4 Adventure+ attractions, including the Rock Wall Climb, Canopy Jump, AIA Vitality Bounce and the new Cavern Crawl, alongside Black Adventures like the Wild Apex Adventure and Wild Cavern Adventure.

We’re here to tell you that the park is absolutely living up to the “Adventure” in its new name, with 5 new Adventure+ activities that you can look forward to in the East zone.

Adventure+ activities are additional, ticketed attractions within the park to spice up your experience, ranging from chill, scenic glides to heart-pumping drops.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Ravine Swing

First up, the Ravine Swing propels you out, 8m high, over the valley in which the animals roam.

This is one of the must-tries for thrill-seekers. After gearing up with the swing harness, hairnet, and helmet, you’ll be attached to the swing on a platform, lifted into the air, and released from a height.

The whiplash from the initial drop is no joke – the gravity snatched our heads backwards, and we had to engage our neck muscles to keep our heads upright. To avoid injury, it’s best to listen closely to the safety briefing and keep your chin down and muscles engaged for the initial drop.

The swings gradually mellow out, giving you a chance to soak in the stunning ravine views and the rush of the breeze. We stepped off the platform feeling like we were floating – slightly weak-kneed and dazed from the high.

Do note that you’ll need to sign a waiver before attempting any of the Adventure+ activities, and keep the digital acknowledgement receipt because it covers you for every attraction, so you won’t have to repeatedly fill it out.

Ravine Swing
Thrill level: 5/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Canopy Glider

Next, there’s the Canopy Glider, which will take you on the scenic route through the treetops for a bird’s eye view of the park.

With your booking in hand, join the queue, store your bags, and board the ride. Like most theme park rollercoasters, it has over-the-shoulder restraints, so rest assured that your fidgety children or elderly parents have 0 chance of slipping off the seats.

This is definitely one of the more family-friendly attractions at the park because there are no sharp turns and steep drops – it’s just a slow, leisurely glide over the park that you can even bring your devices on to snap some pictures.

We would liken this to a flying tram ride, complete with audio descriptions of the various zones and wildlife to spot along the way.

Canopy Glider
Thrill level: 2/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Primate Climb

Then, try your hand at the Primate Climb, which takes you 11m up a Strangler Fig tree, to a vantage point over the park’s Diana monkeys in their treetop homes.

If you haven’t done any rock climbing before, fret not, because you’ll get a test run where you climb above the yellow marker and descend with the auto belay. Trusting the system and letting go for the first time was a little daunting, so it’s great to get a feel of the auto belay at a lower height.

The tree gives you deep, wide pockets to cling to, making it possible for most beginners to scale and conquer. Each lane has a different difficulty level – for those well versed in the rock-climbing lingo, this ranges from 5c+ to 6a+.

Once you reach the top, don’t forget to take in the breathtaking view before letting the auto belay do its work for the descent.

Primate Climb
Thrill level: 4/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Split Rock Summit (1)

After that, check out an alternative view of the Madagascan rainforests at Split Rock Summit, where you’ll climb vertical rungs and inch your way across the boulder.

Brand new rubber gloves that you can take home are provided, and you can also borrow their waterproof accessory pouch to store your phones in case you want to snap some pictures at the summit.

The giant split rock is located within a vast area with free-roaming lemurs and birds, so you might even have some close encounters with these pals on the rock.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Split Rock Summit (2)

You might have to spend some time waiting at the summit if there are any park goers ahead of you who are hesitating to take the leap of faith down the rock.

We spent a good 10 minutes atop cheering on nervous peeps who had trouble jumping down. When it’s your turn, take a deep breath, lean back, let go of the rope, and let gravity do its work.

Split Rock Summit
Thrill level: 5/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Treetop Traverse (1)

Last but not least, keep an eye out for the okapi as you take on the Treetop Traverse, a 125m-long suspension bridge with narrow planks and nets that will be a true test of your agility.

Start your journey on the climbing nets, which will take you from the ground to a dizzying 8m over the forest floor.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Treetop Traverse (2)

Then, take your time to traverse the obstacles and admire the view up there. The obstacles are pretty much beginner-level, and anyone who can climb stairs without assistance should be able to complete the course without too much trouble.

It did leave us sweating buckets though, which is what a little physical exertion would do to anyone in Singapore’s weather.

Treetop Traverse
Thrill level: 3/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Bounce & climb around the play zones

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Playground

If your little ones have plenty of energy that begs to be released, there are play zones scattered throughout the parks for them to burn some off while you take a breather.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - trek

Our favourite was these trampolines, which – despite what it looks like – were next-level bouncy. Adults should definitely try this too.

Catch the ranger talks

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - ranger talk

There are also ranger talks happening at set timings throughout the park, where a park ranger will share more about the animals in the zone and field questions from curious park goers – like just how big the crocs here are and whether you’ll win in a fight with it.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - ranger talk meeting point

Just look out for the signs for the meeting point, be there on time, and you’re good to go.

Here is a breakdown of all the ranger talk locations and timings in Rainforest Wild Adventure East:

Ranger Talk Location Time(s)

We Ungatekeep 5 Underrated ArtScience Museum Programmes Beyond The Main Exhibitions https://thesmartlocal.com/read/artscience-museum-programmes/ Tue, 02 Jun 2026 08:58:30 +0000 https://thesmartlocal.com/?p=392142 Bet you never knew that there’s a cinema within ASM, with free screenings to boot.

ArtScience Museum programmes

15 years since ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands opened, it’s been known for many things, not least its iconic blossoming lotus-like structure, and every parent’s favourite exhibit: teamLab Future World.

Did you know, though, that besides the blockbuster exhibitions that everyone goes for, the museum also has a bevy of other programmes that run quietly in the background? Equal parts intriguing and photo-worthy, this is us un-gatekeeping these massively underrated gems for your next tourist-in-Singapore adventure:

1. ArtScience Cinema

It’s not only the traditional cinemas that we need to support; there’s also ArtScience Cinema – a purpose-built screening room on Level 4 that showcases specially curated films you ain’t gonna find elsewhere.

Contours of Being, shown in this image, is screening in ArtScience Cinema until 28th June.

The diverse line-up here, which changes seasonally: feature films ranging from arthouse indies to Hollywood blockbusters, alongside artist retrospectives, experimental video works, compelling documentaries, and more.

If all that sounds too cheem for the little ones, this is our shout out to parents that you’ll also find kid-friendly films here too. In fact, the films that have been handpicked for juniors are specifically chosen for the way in which complex topics have been presented in an accessible way for younger audiences.

ArtScience Museum Robot Dreams
Robot Dreams, an animated film set in 1980s New York City where a lonely dog builds a robot to become his companion.

Take for example Robot Dreams and The Iron Giant – both of which are currently screening, which explore themes of companionship and empathy across differences in species and size.  Tip: Swing by on weekdays for free admission to many of their family-friendly programmes.

ArtScience Cinema holds both free and ticketed screenings, which you’ll have to refer to their cinema schedule to find out more about. The best part? The plush, cushy seats that are ult premium, and wireless headphones that provide an intimate audio experience.

2. VR Gallery

For an even cooler experience you ought to check out, there’s the VR Gallery – another permanent space that’s also on Level 4, that’s one of the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.

ArtScience Museum VR

Unlike traditional cinema, VR does not just place the audience in front of a story, but inside one. The viewer is no longer passive, becoming spatially aware and emotionally implicated in a way never before possible.

Now running till 16th August 2026 is Evolver: An Immersive Journey of Life and Breath by art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast, which runs complementary to one of the current headlining exhibits at ArtScience Museum, Flesh and Bones: The Art of Anatomy. This VR experience, narrated by award-winning actress Cate Blanchett, takes you into the human body, all the way to a singular cell – one of the trillions of building blocks that makes us, us.

P.S. It doesn’t matter if you’re bespectacled, because the headset comfortably fits over any eyewear you might be wearing.

Do note that this experience is not recommended for children under the age of 13.

3. ArtScience Laboratory, with free walk-in activities

Then, there’s something for the tinkerers, the inner child within us at ArtScience Laboratory, found in Basement 2 of the Museum, right beside the entrance to teamLab Future World.

ArtScience Museum Shadow

This learning space was created as a convergence point for art, science, and technology, that embraces and celebrates interdisciplinary collaboration through hands-on activities and inventive programmes.

All of its walk-in activities and programmes are centred around 5 themes: Inspired By, Scientific Sparks, Creative Constructs, Environmental Empathy, and Art of Being Calm. The multitude of programmes are suitable for visitors of all ages, because learning, as the wise ones tell us, is a lifelong journey.

ArtScience Museum AR

Here are some of the activities that are available on a walk-in basis, free for visitors to explore at any time of the day:

Deep Field, an immersive art experience where you get to design your own plant and watch it bloom in AR, Inspired By: Olafur Eliasson – Colour and Light, where you experiment with shadows, colour, and light, as well as Inspired By: Patricia Piccinini –, where you can learn about genetic modification through creating your own paper puppet friend.

ArtScience Museum Puppet

During the June hols, there will also be workshops and kids’ tours that focus on ocean life and imparting sustainable practices, which you can sign the little ones up for at just $5/pax.

4. ArtScience Interlude

ArtScience Interlude, on the other hand, is something you might have glimpsed, but never paid attention to. It is, after all, found in the Level 1 Lobby of ArtScience Museum, playing each hour on the hour from 11am daily.

ArtScience Museum Interlude
ArtScience Interlude: Leaving and Arriving by Lynn Loo

This moving image encounter, where a video artwork plays on the LED screen in the L1 lobby, was designed to invite visitors to pause and contemplate the art against the backdrop of the MBS skyline. A visual palate cleanser, if you will.

If you’ve always breezed through the lobby in the goal-driven way that most of us charge through life, take a breather and stop for a mo’ the next time you pass by. This is quite the reminder that art is all around us, should we take a moment to stop and appreciate it.

5. ArtScience Encounters

ArtScience Museum Outdoor Dance

Finally, we get to ArtScience Encounters, another interdisciplinary programme that transforms the museum itself into part of the artwork. It capitalises on the Museum’s one-of-a-kind giant outdoor water feature, the B2 Oculus, turning it into a living canvas showcasing various experimental installations, site-specific performances, and contemplative soundscapes.

ArtScience Museum Oculus

In case you haven’t noticed, immersion is the name of the game at most of these alternative programmes at ArtScience Museum. ArtScience Encounters is one of the best-kept secrets at ASM, inviting visitors to step beyond the gallery walls and experience the building in an entirely new way.

The results are often intimate and unexpected. And with regularly refreshed presentations by local and international artists, it’s safe to say that no 2 visits will be quite the same.

Bonus: Seasonal micro festivals

Beyond exhibitions, ArtScience Museum also hosts a dynamic line-up of festivals throughout the year, from annual highlights to smaller seasonal programmes that dive deep into timely ideas shaping art, science, culture, and technology.

ArtScience Museum Sustainable Futures

Landmark festivals, such as In The Ether, bring together artists and thinkers for large-scale interdisciplinary experiences. Sustainable Futures, on the other hand, offers focused explorations of themes connected to the museum’s curatorial direction.

Each festival offers a different way to engage with the museum, whether through learning, making, listening or simply wandering through something unexpected. Since these programmes rotate across the year, there’s always something new on the horizon worth returning for.

Discover the rest of the ArtScience Museum

Explore a new side of ArtScience Museum, be it for your next solo day out, as a holiday thing-to-do with the kids, or date day activity with your sweetheart. The immersive exhibits make learning and exploration fun and impactful for all.

As Benjamin Franklin once said, “involve me, and I learn,” and that’s exactly what makes ArtScience Museum experience so memorable – it invites you to step beyond simply observing, and become part of the story.

The rise of social gatherings & mixer events in Singapore

It’s a common sentiment that meeting people gets tougher after graduation. Gone are the days of social gatherings at late-night CCAs and student clubs, replaced by 9-6 work weeks and sleep-in weekends. Worse still – even if you’re game to put yourself out there, it may be a little tricky to find a communal space where you can seek to build meaningful relationships.

Lucky for you, social mixers around Singapore are gaining popularity. So if you’re looking to hype up your social calendar, here’s a list of social gatherings in Singapore that you can join.

1. Hangout Laundry

Meet strangers at a laundromat while doing actual laundry

A laundromat is probably not what you have in mind as a social gathering venue. Enter Hangout Laundry, an actual laundromat founded by Ms Low Seow Yee, that doubles up as a communal space for gatherings.

In an interview with TSL, she shared about her 10-year stint at Timbre, where she was involved in building user-friendly spaces, which sparked the idea of a laundromat as a hangout spot.

“Laundry is something everyone does, but it’s often a chore that takes time. I wanted to create a space where we take back that time for more rewarding and productive activities,” said Seow Yee.

Recently, the laundromat has seen many writers gathering. Just last month, the laundromat hosted Unfold Margins for their writing hour session – for $42, people looking to craft stories gathered here, with freeflow snacks, coffee, and tea to keep them going.

They also hosted the Creative Screens Co-working Club for Unfinished Projects for a different kind of session; with no entry fee, writers could choose to bounce ideas off each other or lock in on their work.

But of course, they also host events for the community around them, with activities for all ages. They invited the seniors at THK Home @ Chai Chee for a tea break, and before that, opened their space for a community-led storytelling session for kids.

“Going to conventional mixers can be pressuring for some. Since a laundromat is a more relatable and accessible place, people feel more comfortable and can return to their laundry any time they need a break from socialising,” said Seow Yee.

As of writing, Hangout Laundry hasn’t announced any upcoming events, but feel free to stop by and get your laundry done in this cosy space anytime – it’s open 24/7, so you can even show up for some late-night washing.

2. Friendzone

Discuss topics on life like friendship & family

Friendzone was established in 2018 by Ms Grace Ann Chua as a chance for people to get together as friends. Today, it hosts paid events for young adults to discuss common life topics like friendships, success, and family.

Some events, like Let’s Talk About: Identity, a collaboration with the Jalan Kayu Youth Network for residents to reflect on how their identity is formed, were free of charge. Others, like SG Social: Life Transitions, were chargeable events.

University student Gabriel Lim shared his experience as a first-timer. “My first experience was quite eye-opening as I was quite sceptical about these events. But I saw firsthand how they could bring the community together, fostering new and stronger bonds,” said Gabriel.

When asked about tips for attendees who may be daunted by such big events, Gabriel highlighted the importance of keeping an open mind.

“As a fellow introvert, I completely empathise. But if you are keen to get to know more people or open your mind and heart to the diversity in our society, you’ll be amazed at who you’ll meet,” said Gabriel.

3. That Run Club

Even has pre-race shakeout runs

That Run Club is one of the many running clubs that have popped up across Singapore in recent years. It was founded by former “‘cardio kills gains’ gym girl” Dorcas Heng, who became a running enthusiast after her time abroad in Australia.

“Whether you’re there to run, jog, walk, or even cycle, it’s something that should be celebrated,” said Dorcas. “For me, I surrounded myself with people who encouraged and spurred me on during my small wins. Finding a support system definitely helped me to continue my running journey.”

That Run Club Run

If you’re anything like me, who needs a good deal of social pressure to spur me into action, a running club could be just the thing for you.

That Run Club currently runs on a more one-off basis, so you can look out for their impromptu zoomies when the urge to run hits. They also do shakeout runs before major races like the BYD Singapore International Marathon (formerly the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon) and 2XU Compression Run, perfect for anyone who needs that extra warm-up and boost of confidence before the big day.

“The whole point of social zoomies is that it’s not about pace, or even distance, but showing up for yourself and having fun,” said Dorcas.

4. Never Strangers

Meet people from a variety of demographics

Social Gatherings - Never Strangers

A powerhouse in the social mixer circle, Never Strangers has amassed over 60,000 followers on their Instagram. They organise social mixers that are open to anyone seeking connections, whether romantic or platonic.

Their events have even broken geographical boundaries, with events being held in 7 Asian cities.

Never Strangers’ target demographic varies according to the applicant pool, and participants are shortlisted accordingly. However, there’s a minimum participating age of 21, with mixers ranging from 40 to 100 participants. You can also expect to pay an entry fee of around $47.

The events are invite-only, and applicants are required to register for an account so that the organisers can ensure that attendees are signing up for the right reasons. Once you’ve been approved, you’ll be free to sign up for future events.

Upon arrival at any of their mixers, attendees have to fill out a questionnaire, with the responses fed into an AI. The event generally starts with icebreaker activities, after which each attendee gets paired up with a fellow attendee based on their responses to the questionnaire.

They organise all sorts of unique mixers – some of their events include activities like kombucha tasting, padel matches, and even overseas getaways if you’re feeling more adventurous.

5. Stranger Conversations

A safe space for like-minded folks to have deeper conversations

Social Gatherings - Stranger Conversations

With their own cosy corner aptly called Stranger Space at 195 Pearl’s Hill Terrace, Stranger Conversations is a social mixer for anyone seeking a safe community with like-minded folks.

Born of a desire to meet people who have taken unconventional paths in life, Ang Jin Shaun wanted to create a community for individuals to share their interests and have deeper conversations. They’ve hosted more than 200 events since 2023, such as talks on financial literacy, pub trivia nights, and even group therapy sessions.

In an interview with Glenda Ong, a member of the Stranger Convos community, she shared her experience being part of the network since 2024. “I wanted to expand my social circle and made it a personal challenge to make 100 friends within two and a half months, so I decided to join Stranger Convos,” she said.

“There’s always a sense of community because we’re all attached to this physical space, which we take care of.”

Stranger Space is open from Monday to Saturday, and visitors are invited to use the space freely and interact with Strangers-in-Residence. Most events, organised by members, take place on weekends.

“It’s a really unique community where you’re guaranteed an introspective conversation with people who come from all walks of life,” said Glenda, when asked about what attendees can expect.

If you’re interested in joining this vibrant community, Stranger Socials is the staple monthly event where visitors and members can gather.

6. Offline

Pass the “vibe check” to join this Singles Infernostyle mixer

Helmed by friends Jarell Low and Wei Yue Dong, Offline is a social mixer targeted towards 22-35-year-olds.

With over 30 events – including ones hosted in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta – under their belt since the mixer was founded in 2022, Offline is a force to be reckoned with in the social mixer community.

Inspired by their experiences abroad, Jarell and Wei Yue wanted to recreate their experience of making friends with strangers during their travels, and provide a space for others to meet.

In order to register for the event, participants have to fill out a “vibe check” form, which the team will then use to shortlist 40 participants each time. Or if forms aren’t your thing, drop them a DM on Instagram, and they’ll check your vibes through your feed. Selected applicants will then receive further details about the event, and have to pay an entry fee of approximately $35.

When asked about their selection criteria, Wei Yue stressed the importance of participants’ willingness to be genuine and open-minded. “They have to be open to new experiences and new perspectives,” he said.

Social Gatherings - Offline
Image adapted from: @siskaliee via Instagram

The event usually kicks off with an icebreaker game hosted by Jarell and Wei Yue, after which participants are free to mingle with their fellow attendees. “Work talk” is strongly discouraged, in a rule inspired by Single’s Inferno.

“In Singapore, there seems to be a tendency for people to rely too much on work talks to begin conversations. The rule may make people feel uncomfortable, but we think being uncomfortable is a good thing,” said Jarrel.

For those who may be daunted by social mixers, the founders suggest practical tips like preparing your own questions beforehand and being genuinely curious about others.

“I think it’s about curiosity and being observant of the people you meet, that can help you get out of your comfort zone and get the ball rolling,” said Wei Yue.

Sign-ups for Offline’s next event on 12th June 2026 are now open.

7. Let’s Hang For Real

Attend a spontaneous dinner party hosted by a group of friends

If you missed your CCA days back in school, this could be the social mixer for you. Let’s Hang For Real is an initiative started by a group of friends who love throwing spontaneous dinner parties.

They were inspired by the idea of expanding one’s social circles through mutual friends. If you’re tired of making plans that don’t make it out of the group chat, Let’s Hang For Real does the heavy lifting for you.

Relatively new to the social mixers game, the initiative’s first mixer was hosted in 2024, where they invited attendees to create their own vision boards.

So far, the group has hosted events like a Christmas home cafe with a mini gift market, dinner gatherings, and even a collaboration with That Run Club. Most recently, they organised a coffee appreciation session together over at Kyuukei Coffee.

8. Dinner With Strangers

Curated guest list to ensure flowing conversations

Dinner With Strangers is a passion project founded by Joell Tee that invites attendees to dine with a group of strangers. Joell hosts the dinners in person and personally curates the guest list to ensure the best vibes and conversations at the table.

Participants fill out a questionnaire designed by Joell to draw out their quirks and personalities, from which she shortlists a group of 10-12 participants.

Social Gatherings - Dinner with Strangers

“My criteria shifts according to each pool of applicants, and I don’t ask for demographic information apart from age and names to make sure the pool is diverse. So my decision depends on how I think applicants will be able to gel,” said Joell.

Shortlisted applicants will then receive anonymised profile cards, and decide who they would like to be seated with, after which the results are run through a formula for optimised seating. The dinner fee varies according to the venue, with prices in the range of $50-$100 including an admin fee.

The concept is similar to Timeleft, a social events platform that books a venue and matches strangers for dinner meetings. But instead of attendees being tossed into the venue alone, Joell sits with guests at the table.

“I think being there personally to host is something unique to DWS. It’s marketed as a social gathering, so we have attendees who are attached or even married,” said Joell. “There’s no pressure to market your best self like at a dating mixer, and it’s more community building than anything.”

The next dinner has just been announced for 26th June 2026 at Smolder Seafood Grill & Bar. Registrations for this event close 14th June 2026, so best sign up soon!

9. Footnotes Club

Go analogue and write some snail mail

This one’s for those who want to take a break from Instagram DM’s. Footnotes Club is all about being intentional with your messages, all penned by hand.

The club started in 2024, taking its name from a line in the TV show One Day and flipping it on its head: “I don’t want to be a footnote in the story of your life.” Here, being a footnote is the whole point of the club, where strangers can leave a small but meaningful mark on another person’s life.

Their first event let you write a letter to your future self, and they have since expanded their range of events. Meet new people at Soul Mates, the club’s social mixer, to make friends. Or if you’d like to leave a physical mark on a stranger’s life, join the Snail Mail Club, where you can write a letter to strangers.

Footnotes Club’s next Soul Mates is a travel-themed mixer on 27th June 2026, catering to wanderlusters and travellers who’re hoping to find a travel buddy. Registration is $35 with complimentary drinks included.

10. Tako Connects

Make new friendly rivals

Perhaps you’ve watched Heated Rivalry and now swear by the enemies-to-lovers trope, or maybe you just love having someone to banter with. If you’ve got a bit of a competitive streak, then you’d enjoy a session by Tako Connects.

Tako is the newest social event organiser on the list – started in October 2025 by 3 SMU students who met as classmates, they held their first After Hours event in March 2026.

After Hours isn’t just your regular social event – it’s a competitive social event, where you’ll build connections over a competition of tabletop games. And if you want to raise the stakes, you might be interested in the cash prize given to whoever wins the most games.

(On hiatus) Fishbowl

Shark Tankstyle mixer to pitch your single friends

Founded by the Dinner With Strangers creator Joell Tee, and Nicole Lim, Fishbowl is a mixer loosely inspired by Shark Tank and is marketed towards singles seeking romance.

Three editions of the mixer have been hosted so far, at venues like Monk’s Brew Club and  Tipsy Flamingo. They’ve even had a collaboration with Oatly and Guerilla Coffee, where oat milk espresso martinis were provided at the event.

The mixer is anchored on the idea of friends pitching their single friends to fellow singles at the event, with each pitch featuring a 3-minute PowerPoint presentation. After the pitching, participants will be allocated groups, which will rotate every 20 minutes. Even if you’re there without a pitcher, you can still sign up and join in during the timed group session.

A sample pitch will be sent out to applicants who may be nervous about creating a deck.

“Be kind in the way you pitch yourself and your friend. You can be humorous and gracious about it. Even if you’re nervous, it’s totally normal, but don’t let that deter you from trying something new,” said Joell.

Join a social gathering in SG & expand your friend circle

Some may complain about Singapore being a tiny island, which also leads to a small social circle. However, that may not be a bad thing. These mixers could be a great way to start unlikely friendships, even if your Instagram reveals you have more than 10 mutuals.

ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples exhibition at Science Centre Singapore

For something we’re constantly reminded of as a “Garden City”, it’s easy to forget that Singapore is essentially an island country – completely surrounded by sea. The new ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples exhibition at the Science Centre Singapore reminds us exactly that, while highlighting just how interconnected we are to the ocean and the larger ecosystem.

We got a sneak peek of what’s in store, from Arctic ice fields to coral reefs – here’s what you can look forward to at the exhibition.

What is the exhibition all about?

ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples marks the global debut of the accumulated 20 years of research by the Tara Ocean Foundation. It features multi-zone environments for an immersive experience that allows you to navigate the quiet wonders and jaw-dropping spectacle of the ocean.

Panellists from Tara Ocean Foundation, RideFX, and NUS shared more about how the exhibition encompasses research from international waters to Singapore’s own marine ecology.

Founded by Agnès Troublé in 2003, the Tara Ocean Foundation is a nonprofit organisation that collaborates with renowned scientific institutions worldwide for research on the ocean and the marine ecosystem.

The foundation also embarks on sea voyages, like the Tara Coral, where the scientific schooner, Tara, makes its way through the Coral Triangle to understand why and how certain corals are able to withstand global warming.

Tara Ocean Foundation is also the team behind the Tara Polar Station, a long-term observatory and laboratory studying the Central Arctic Ocean. Their 1st expedition, the Tara Polaris I, was launched in 2026, studying the state of the Arctic’s ecosystems in order to refine climate model predictions.

What to expect at the ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples exhibition?

The Search for Bruiser Woods – Legally Blonde musical in Singapore

Legally Blonde: The Musical is strutting into Singapore from 29th July 2026, starring West End talent Nathania Ong. But before Elle Woods makes her grand entrance, there’s already a casting call stealing the spotlight.

The Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) is on The Search for Bruiser Woods, so if your pup has main character energy or just an impressive ability to sit pretty on command, they might just be heading for the stage.

Who is SRT looking for?

Elle Woods with Bruiser Woods

SRT is looking to cast 2 very special 4-legged stars for the production.

First up is Bruiser Woods. They’re searching for a blonde, short-haired toy-sized dog who is comfortable being carried onstage and staying calm amid lights, music, and performers. Nope, your pup doesn’t have to be a Chihuahua, but it stands a higher chance if it’s happy chilling in a dog bag and responds to cues in exchange for treats.

Bruiser Woods & Rufus

Then there’s Rufus – this role is for a larger dog with a BIG personality. It should be friendly, relaxed, happy to walk onstage on a lead, and totally fine soaking up attention from both the cast and the crowd.

What’s the criteria?

Bruiser Woods & Rufus in Legally Blonde musical poster

There are a few must-haves before your pup officially enters its star era:

  • It should be well-socialised and comfortable in busy environments
  • It must respond well to handlers and basic commands
  • It enjoys attention
  • It can attend rehearsals and performances

Just in case you’re wondering, pups don’t need prior stage experience – all they have to do is be confident, just like Elle Woods.

How to take part in the audition?

The Search for Bruiser Woods poster

Head down to The Proud Pet Parade, held in collaboration with Pasar Pink by Pink Fest, on 6th June 2026 at 2.30pm. The audition will take place at New Bahru’s School Hall.

At the time of writing, registration is already closed thanks to overwhelming interest, but if you still think your dog really has what it takes, you can join the waitlist by dropping an email to hi@moxiecommunications.com.sg. No harm trying – if the team doesn’t find the right fit, they may reach out to someone on the waiting list.

Nathania Ong, who’s playing Elle Woods, will also be on the judging panel along with Singaporean artist Jean Seizure.

What do participants get?

Legally Blonde: The Musical poster

It’s not just bragging rights on the line – participants will also stand a chance to win tickets to Legally Blonde: The Musical, so even if your pup doesn’t land their big stage debut, at least you might still get to watch Elle Woods work her magic from the audience.

Sign your doggo up to be a part of Legally Blonde: The Musical

Go ahead and embrace your delusion by putting your pup’s main character energy to the test. Elle Woods would approve.

Date: 6th June 2026
Time: 2.30pm
Venue: School Hall at New Bahru

SuperPark AfterHours

If your idea of a night out lately has been the same old dinner-and-drinks combo, this might shake things up a little. Starting on 26th June 2026, SuperPark Singapore is rolling out SuperPark AfterHours, a new adults-only experience where grown-ups can let loose in an indoor playground after dark.

Think neon lights, music blasting in the background, obstacle courses, arcade-style games, and dodgeball sessions without kids running around. Basically, your primary school energy, but with adult money and better outfits.

What is SuperPark AfterHours?

SuperPark AfterHours - slides

Held every Thursday and Friday night, AfterHours is designed for adults looking for something more active and social to do with friends, dates, or even colleagues after work. So if you’ve ever said, “Wah, adult life damn sian”, this might be your cue to go touch a trampoline instead of grass.

SuperPark AfterHours - ticketing

AfterHours is a recurring night event at SuperPark Singapore, located at Suntec City. The indoor playground will transform into an adults-only space with neon lighting and upbeat music, creating more of a party atmosphere than your usual family play zone.

There’ll be 2 regular themed nights:

AfterHours: Her’s Edition on Thursdays

SuperPark AfterHours - adults

Despite the name, this session is open to all adults. Thursdays will feature perks and promotions targeted at ladies, alongside the usual play activities.

Admission prices for AfterHours: Her’s Edition are $20.72 for members and $25.90 for the general public.

AfterHours: TGIF on Fridays

SuperPark AfterHours - games

Fridays are positioned as a bigger end-of-week blowout, with special promotions and a more energetic social vibe.

Admission prices for AfterHours: TGIF are $20.72 for members and $25.90 for the general public.

The first public launch edition happens on 26th June 2026

More details about the June launch programme are expected to be announced closer to the date, including the extended opening hours. Keep a cookout on their socials to get the latest updates.

SuperPark AfterHours - music

Every last Friday of the month, SuperPark will also host AfterHours: The Ultimate Party, a larger-scale themed event with different brand collaborations and curated experiences.

Ticket prices for The Ultimate Party are:

  • Early Bird: $25.90
  • Regular: $33.90
  • Final Release and Walk-in: $37.90

What can adults actually do at SuperPark?

SuperPark AfterHours - floor is lava

For the uninitiated, SuperPark is basically an indoor activity park packed with games and physical challenges. Instead of quietly sipping cocktails at a bar, you’ll be racing your friends through obstacle walls, testing your balance skills, or getting humbled at basketball reaction games.

SuperPark AfterHours - trampoline

Some of the main attractions include:

  • Ninja track obstacle courses
  • Trampolines
  • Climbing walls
  • Dodgeball areas
  • Interactive sports games
  • Slides and adventure zones

The AfterHours sessions are meant to turn these activities into a more social nightlife experience, complete with music and mood lighting.

Do I need to book tickets in advance?

While walk-ins may be available depending on capacity, booking early is probably the safer move, especially for the monthly Ultimate Party sessions.

Do I need to bring anything along?

SuperPark AfterHours - grip socks

Yes, bring along grippy socks if you have them as they are mandatory for entry into the play zones. Otherwise buy a pair on the spot for $3.50 which you can keep and bring for future play times.

Get ready for neon playground nights for your inner child

SuperPark AfterHours - jump

Between run clubs, wellness events, and experiential pop-ups becoming more popular lately, it’s not surprising that nightlife is starting to look a bit different too. SuperPark’s AfterHours feels like part fitness session, part chaotic friend hangout, and part playground fever dream in glowing neon colours. Honestly, it sounds a lot more memorable than queueing 2 hours for supper again.

Productions’ Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore

2026 is the year for live performances in SG – from internationally acclaimed stages like Cats the Musical to iconic pop artists like The Weeknd, there’s no shortage of artists hitting Singapore’s shores this year.

But beyond the big-name acts, the local arts scene is equally buzzing, with an upcoming play produced by SG’s very own youth-led theatre club, [Working Title] Productions, set to be staged this June 2026. Rewind time and step back into your secondary school days as you follow a group of friends navigating academic rigour and expectations in Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore.

Who is [Working Title] Productions?

working title productions the importance of being earnest[Working Title] Production’s The Importance of Being Earnest
Image adapted from: @viewpointnamaste via Instagram

The brainchild of a group of university students who were frustrated with the lack of opportunities for theatre students to be exposed to the industry, [Working Title] Productions specialises in training youths for the big stage and providing them with a chance to explore industry-standard opportunities. Club sessions start off with the foundation of theatre, where members get to learn theatrical techniques or how to set a stage for a performance. Members will also get to practice their own scripts, with the play also being written and produced in-house.

The club may have begun as a space for university students, but it has now expanded to welcome all youths interested in kickstarting their theatre journey. You can expect a cast and crew from a variety of backgrounds, such as students from NTU, NUS, SMU, NAFA, and Lasalle, as well as fresh graduates and pre-university youths.

Following their 2025 annual production, The Importance of Being Earnest, the club is now returning with Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore in June 2026.

What is Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore about?

pygmalion murals of singapore Image credit: [Working Title] Productions

Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore is the club’s take on adapting George Bernard Shaw’s 1912 play, Pygmalion. The original play explored the struggles of the working class in early 20th-century London, depicting the story of Professor Henry Higgins and flower seller Eliza Doolittle. Higgins is a linguistics professor who sets out to transform how Eliza speaks and behaves, with the goal of having her pass off as a lady at an upcoming ball.

Less focused on how to navigate social class differences and set within the context of Singapore’s education system, Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore follows Greenfield Secondary student Aini, alongside her best friend, Clara, and other members of the school’s debate team as they prepare for a national competition under the motion “This House Believes That Success Without Integrity is Failure”.

Aini is your typical diligent student, but her identity is shaped by her principal’s belief that success must be earned through discipline, clarity, and impact. As the pressure is stacked on Aini, from the upcoming ‘O’ Levels examinations to her principal’s manipulative expectations, Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore reveals how institutional ambition and personal sacrifice often go hand in hand, striking a chord with anyone who’s ever felt crushed under the weight of expectations.

Where to watch Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore?

You can catch Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore at the Drama Centre Black Box, located at the National Library Building, on 20th and 21st June 2026. There are 2 show timings available for both days, at 2pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are available at $30 each with a free seating concept.

Catch [Working Title] Productions’ upcoming show

With the club’s 2nd annual production happening this June, [Working Title] Productions is well on its journey to make theatre much more accessible to SG’s youths, providing them with the necessary space and encouragement to pursue theatre professionally.

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend the upcoming June holidays or simply wish to support the local arts scene, you might want to consider catching Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore.
