Skypark Sentosa at Siloso Beach

Mention Sentosa island and you’ll likely picture tranquil waves and vibey beach clubs. There’s a place for adrenaline junkies too, fret not. Situated at Siloso Beach is Skypark Sentosa, an adventure park which many of you may remember previously as AJ Hackett Sentosa.

The attraction was closed for a couple of months earlier this year, but ZJ Adventures has relaunched Skypark Sentosa with 2 new slides. The bungee jump still stands, waiting for you to conquer it and check it off your bucket list of the most adventurous activities in Singapore. There’s also a giant swing here, where you and up to 2 buddies can soar through the sky at the same time like a bunch of flying squirrels.

Meanwhile, thrill-averse peeps can chill at the Summerhouse Beach Club over pizza and cocktails.

Bungy Jump

Skypark Sentosa Bungee Jump

Skypark Sentosa’s attractions are a daredevil’s dream come true. The highlight is none other than the Bungy Jump, towering at 47m tall. To put it into perspective, that’s roughly the height of a 17-storey HDB building.

Skypark Sentosa Siloso Beach

After taking in a gorgeous panoramic view of Sentosa, you’ll be plummeting into a free-fall that lasts 2.5 seconds. While that may seem short, we guarantee that you’ll feel as if you’re soaring through the air for much longer, and that surge of adrenaline is no joke.

Skypark Sentosa Bungee Jump Pool

Fun fact: you can request for the staff to adjust the length of your bungee cord so that the tension will kick in when you’re still in the air, or after you’ve had a little dip in the pool below. We opted for the latter and it was a mighty refreshing end to such a wild jump.

Skypark Sentosa Tandem Bungee Jump
Need a buddy for moral support? They offer a Tandem Bungy option where 2 pax are rigged up side by side.

Giant Swing

Skypark Sentosa Giant Swing

If you’re a little too faint-hearted to take the plunge, you can still get major airtime by taking Skypark Sentosa’s Giant Swing. Think of it as a next-level Flying Fox ride, where up to 3 people can swing across the track at speeds reaching 120km/hr. You’ll also get a lovely view of Siloso Beach from a vantage point 45m off the ground.

Book tickets for Giant Swing at Skypark Sentosa.

Skybridge

Skypark Sentosa Skybridge

For those who want to take in the same stunning scenery but would very much prefer to have their feet planted on land, go for the Skybridge option. It’s like an overhead bridge, except you’ll have 360° unobstructed views of the beach, instead of some random expressway.

Skypark Sentosa Skybridge Glass
Step into this glass-floored nook if you want to conquer your fear of heights head-on.

Similar to the bungee jump, the Skybridge is also 47m tall. It measures 40m end to end, making for a leisurely stroll with plenty of photo ops from all angles. It’s also open to all ages, so invite your entire family.

Book tickets for Skybridge at Skypark Sentosa.

SkySlides

Skypark Sentosa - skyslides

The newest attractions on the block are the bright blue and orange Skyslides. Standing at 44m as Southeast Asia’s tallest dry slides, this new introduction offers more thrills at Skypark Sentosa.

This is the only ride that requires one to enjoy it individually, but fret not, as you’ll be accompanied by UV neon lights and music providing the vibes for a fun ride down. You can personalise your experience by choosing from different themes like ‘Space’ and ‘Disco’.

Skypark Sentosa - skydrop

First up, you’ve got Skydrop. As the name suggests, the experience starts with a 2-second drop where the landing simply opens into an abyss before quickly transitioning into the slide’s curved path.  This one’s truly for the adrenaline junkies as it’s the faster of the 2 slides.

Trust me, the anticipation of the drop is a lot more nerve-wracking than the actual ride itself. Completely doable! Plus, you’ll get a GoPro mounted on your helmet so you get to relive the experience over and over again with the video you get at the end.

Skypark Sentosa - The Big Klook Slide

The Big Klook Slide, on the other hand, is a lot more chill, with the speed being slightly slower than Skydrop. Also, the top half is transparent, so you’ll get to admire panoramic views of Sentosa on your way down.

Skypark Sentosa - blue and orange skyslides

Tip: Time your ride during the evening and you’ll get stellar views of the sunset.

Summerhouse Beach Club

Skypark Sentosa Beach

All those high-adrenaline activities are sure to get your tummy rumbling. Head over to Summerhouse Beach Club to chow down with a wonderful view and idyllic beach vibes.

A popular pick is their range of 10-inch pizzas, priced from $21. Topping choices include Hawaiian, beef pepperoni, vegetarian, and seafood. They also serve mains like Fish & Chips ($22), Greek Lamb Skewer ($26), and Mushroom Aglio Olio ($19).

In terms of bevvies, the bar has a selection of cocktails ($18) as well as mocktails ($11). We hear the Lychee Margarita and Virgin Passionfruit Swizzle – which are alcoholic and non-alcoholic, respectively – are particularly refreshing.

You’ll even get to watch the thrill-seekers leaping off the bungy while you sip a cold one.

How do you get to Sentosa?

Skypark Sentosa Express

Although Sentosa is an island, you won’t have to board a ferry to get there from mainland Singapore. Simply take the MRT to Harbourfront Station, which will connect you to VivoCity mall. Head to Level 3 to find the Sentosa Express, a monorail train service that shuttles visitors between the mall and Sentosa.

Standard admission costs $4/pax, but local residents holding onto TransitLink cards – AKA your trusty EZ-Link – will get to tap in for just $2/pax. Kids with child concession cards get to enter for free, as do children who are below 0.9m tall.

To get to Siloso Beach, hop off at Beach Station, the last of 3 stops from VivoCity Station. The Sentosa Express train operates daily from 7am-12am.

Is Sentosa free to enter?

Sentosa charges an admission fee, and that amount is actually what you pay for when you hop aboard the Sentosa Express. For visitors driving in, your admission will be charged via your CashCard when you drive through the entrance gantry.

For off-peak periods, which are 11.30am-1.30pm and 5.01pm-6.59am daily, admission is $2/vehicle. Meanwhile, peak hours of 7am-11.29am and 1.31pm-5pm will incur an admission fee of $6/vehicle. And yes, the admission charge will apply for guests entering via taxi or private hire rides; it’ll just be tagged onto your regular fare.

Head to Skypark Sentosa for an adrenaline-filled beach outing

Skypark Sentosa - helmets and gopros

While Skypark Sentosa is certainly paradise for thrill seekers, there’s something for everyone; those who wanna chill by the beach over some hearty nosh and drinks, families who want to have an active day out, and couples who want to bring their dates to new heights.

Sentosa itself is brimming with things to do, so make the most out of your trip by also hitting up nearby attractions like Sentosa Sensoryscape – a free-admission IG-worthy attraction comprising 6 aesthetic gardens, and Skyline Luge, where you’ll be able to zip around and race your friends Mario Kart-style.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East

The hullabaloo about Rainforest Wild Asia, it seems, is not ready to die down yet, because an entire new wing has just opened on 20th May 2026. Formerly known as Rainforest Wild Asia & Africa, the entire park will henceforth be known as Rainforest Wild Adventure, which we think certainly has a catchier ring to it.

Spread over Mandai East and Mandai West, you’ll have to take a shuttle bus between the 2 zones, or walk via a sheltered walkway – both sections are included in every Rainforest Wild Adventure park ticket.

What is Rainforest Wild Adventure?

Inspired by Afro-tropical & Madagascan landscapes

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Map

This latest East Zone phase of the Rainforest Wild park officially rounds out the 5th and final zoological park that makes up Mandai Wildlife Reserve Singapore. As its earlier name suggests, it’s inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan rainforests, complementing its Asian counterparts in the half of the park that we’ve already seen.

It adds 7 extra hectares of zoo to the original 13ha Rainforest Wild Adventure West.

Choose between leisurely strolls or rugged hikes

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Elevated walkways

If you’ve been to Rainforest Wild Adventure West before, you’ll know that you can explore the park either via forest treks or canopy boardwalks. Similarly, Rainforest Wild Adventure East gives you the option to veer off the sheltered, stroller-friendly elevated walkways to try out on-the-ground hikes.

Should you visit Rainforest Wild Adventure East or West first?

Rainforest Wild Adventure East

Your ticket includes entry to both the East and West zones of the park, and you should definitely allocate a full day to explore both zones.

Comparing the 2 zones, the West is centred around dense jungle exploration with rugged, off-the-beaten-path trails traversing logs and streams, while the East zone has more Adventure+ activities and shorter hikes.

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, it’s recommended to hit up the West zone first. The rugged jungle treks serve as the perfect warm-up before the midday sun hits, so you’ll still have energy to conquer the remaining Adventure+ activities over in the East.

Mixed-pace families with young children and older relatives can start from the East zone for early morning animal viewings and unhurried walks along the sheltered elevated walkway, before checking out the West zone with energy levels in mind.

If it might rain on the day, plan according to the weather forecast – the West zone is fully outdoors, while the East is sheltered. Adventure+ activities throughout the 2 zones will be suspended while the lightning alert is on, with the exception of the enclosed Cavern Crawl. As for the caged Split Rock Summit, which is lightning-proofed, its operation will depend on how heavy the downpour gets.

What to pack when visiting Rainforest Wild Adventure?

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Entrance

Secure, closed-toed shoes without high-platform soles are required for all Adventure+ activities, and there’ll be a good amount of walking involved, so your choice of shoes is key.

In case your shoes don’t meet the requirements for the Adventure+ activities, there are shoes you can borrow for free at each station too.

Do bring along a water bottle, cap, sunscreen, handheld fan, poncho, and insect repellent. Lockers are provided for free at each Adventure+ attraction, so you don’t need a designated bag watcher for the day.

We suggest lightening the water load though, because there are water refill stations near all washrooms.

Consider attaching a wrist strap to your phone if you’d like to capture some memories on elevated walkways and rides without worrying about your device plunging several metres into the foliage below.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Mandai Wildlife Reserve App (1)

We’d recommend downloading the Mandai Wildlife Reserve App (App Store | Google Play) before your visit to check the operation and wait times of the Adventure+ attractions and refer to the handy map all on your device.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Mandai Wildlife Reserve App (2)

Pro tip: Book a time slot for the Canopy Glider before your visit. It’s the only Adventure+ activity that requires advance booking, and you can do it through the app or by scanning the booking QR codes at the entrance and around the park.

What can you expect at the new Rainforest Wild Adventure East?

See the 1st okapis in Southeast Asia

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - okapi

Each of the zoological parks boasts iconic wildlife species, and this latest wing is not to be outdone – their creature of honour is the okapi, an endangered species from the Congo in Central Africa. Rainforest Wild Adventure is the 1st Southeast Asian zoo to house these zebra-striped-legged mammals.

Yes, we will host 4 of them – 2 pairs, recommended for breeding, who’ve been flown in from European zoos in a coordinated conservation initiative.

You can find these Congolese giraffes, as they’re otherwise known, in the Hidden Forest.

Discover more animals in 4 themed zones

Besides the okapis in the Hidden Forest, there are 3 other themed zones to explore with more animals to spot.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - otter

First up, squee at the cute pygmy hippos and otters over at the Riverine Forest.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - African Painted Dog
African painted dog.

Next, at the Red Ravine, look forward to seeing some forest predators and prey, like the African painted dog, Eastern bongos, red river hogs, and Nile lechwes, which are an endangered species of antelope from South Sudan and Ethiopia.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Estuarine Crocodile
Estuarine crocodile.

There are some massive crocs in this area too, like the Estuarine crocodile and Sunda Gharial – they can grow up to 6m long.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Ring-tailed lemurs
Ring-tailed lemurs.

Then, head over to Lemur Land, inspired by Madagascar. Similar to the walk-through aviaries at Bird Paradise, this zone is completely enclosed within vast netting, which you’ll have to enter through double doors.

Here, you’ll be able to get up close to 3 different species of free-roaming lemurs.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Yellow-billed stork
Yellow-billed stork.

Watch out for the resident birds too, which may fly close to you. One of the crested couas even smacked us on the face with its feathery wing as it flew past.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - White-faced whistling ducks

We also spotted some white-faced whistling ducks, which produce a high-pitched 3-note whistle instead of quacking.

5 treks to complete

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - trek map and entrance

There are 5 short treks you can find in the park for a different, closer view of the animals. You’ll spot signs like these marking the entrance of the treks.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - trek

Unlike Rainforest Wild Adventure West, the treks at the new East zone are shorter, less forested, and not as adventurous, so they wouldn’t drain too much of your energy.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Split Rock Trek

There are some awesome photo spots like this one at the Split Rock Trek. They’ve even provided phone stands for you to slot your device into, so you can easily snag a timed selfie with the whole massive rock, split in half right across the middle, serving as your backdrop.

Try out 5 new Adventure+ activities

If you recall, we did a guide on Rainforest Wild Adventure West, formerly known as Rainforest Wild Asia. That part of the park housed 4 Adventure+ attractions, including the Rock Wall Climb, Canopy Jump, AIA Vitality Bounce and the new Cavern Crawl, alongside Black Adventures like the Wild Apex Adventure and Wild Cavern Adventure.

We’re here to tell you that the park is absolutely living up to the “Adventure” in its new name, with 5 new Adventure+ activities that you can look forward to in the East zone.

Adventure+ activities are additional, ticketed attractions within the park to spice up your experience, ranging from chill, scenic glides to heart-pumping drops.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Ravine Swing

First up, the Ravine Swing propels you out, 8m high, over the valley in which the animals roam.

This is one of the must-tries for thrill-seekers. After gearing up with the swing harness, hairnet, and helmet, you’ll be attached to the swing on a platform, lifted into the air, and released from a height.

The whiplash from the initial drop is no joke – the gravity snatched our heads backwards, and we had to engage our neck muscles to keep our heads upright. To avoid injury, it’s best to listen closely to the safety briefing and keep your chin down and muscles engaged for the initial drop.

The swings gradually mellow out, giving you a chance to soak in the stunning ravine views and the rush of the breeze. We stepped off the platform feeling like we were floating – slightly weak-kneed and dazed from the high.

Do note that you’ll need to sign a waiver before attempting any of the Adventure+ activities, and keep the digital acknowledgement receipt because it covers you for every attraction, so you won’t have to repeatedly fill it out.

Ravine Swing
Thrill level: 5/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Canopy Glider

Next, there’s the Canopy Glider, which will take you on the scenic route through the treetops for a bird’s eye view of the park.

With your booking in hand, join the queue, store your bags, and board the ride. Like most theme park rollercoasters, it has over-the-shoulder restraints, so rest assured that your fidgety children or elderly parents have 0 chance of slipping off the seats.

This is definitely one of the more family-friendly attractions at the park because there are no sharp turns and steep drops – it’s just a slow, leisurely glide over the park that you can even bring your devices on to snap some pictures.

We would liken this to a flying tram ride, complete with audio descriptions of the various zones and wildlife to spot along the way.

Canopy Glider
Thrill level: 2/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Primate Climb

Then, try your hand at the Primate Climb, which takes you 11m up a Strangler Fig tree, to a vantage point over the park’s Diana monkeys in their treetop homes.

If you haven’t done any rock climbing before, fret not, because you’ll get a test run where you climb above the yellow marker and descend with the auto belay. Trusting the system and letting go for the first time was a little daunting, so it’s great to get a feel of the auto belay at a lower height.

The tree gives you deep, wide pockets to cling to, making it possible for most beginners to scale and conquer. Each lane has a different difficulty level – for those well versed in the rock-climbing lingo, this ranges from 5c+ to 6a+.

Once you reach the top, don’t forget to take in the breathtaking view before letting the auto belay do its work for the descent.

Primate Climb
Thrill level: 4/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Split Rock Summit (1)

After that, check out an alternative view of the Madagascan rainforests at Split Rock Summit, where you’ll climb vertical rungs and inch your way across the boulder.

Brand new rubber gloves that you can take home are provided, and you can also borrow their waterproof accessory pouch to store your phones in case you want to snap some pictures at the summit.

The giant split rock is located within a vast area with free-roaming lemurs and birds, so you might even have some close encounters with these pals on the rock.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Split Rock Summit (2)

You might have to spend some time waiting at the summit if there are any park goers ahead of you who are hesitating to take the leap of faith down the rock.

We spent a good 10 minutes atop cheering on nervous peeps who had trouble jumping down. When it’s your turn, take a deep breath, lean back, let go of the rope, and let gravity do its work.

Split Rock Summit
Thrill level: 5/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Treetop Traverse (1)

Last but not least, keep an eye out for the okapi as you take on the Treetop Traverse, a 125m-long suspension bridge with narrow planks and nets that will be a true test of your agility.

Start your journey on the climbing nets, which will take you from the ground to a dizzying 8m over the forest floor.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Treetop Traverse (2)

Then, take your time to traverse the obstacles and admire the view up there. The obstacles are pretty much beginner-level, and anyone who can climb stairs without assistance should be able to complete the course without too much trouble.

It did leave us sweating buckets though, which is what a little physical exertion would do to anyone in Singapore’s weather.

Treetop Traverse
Thrill level: 3/5
Add-on price: $10/pax

Bounce & climb around the play zones

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Playground

If your little ones have plenty of energy that begs to be released, there are play zones scattered throughout the parks for them to burn some off while you take a breather.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - trek

Our favourite was these trampolines, which – despite what it looks like – were next-level bouncy. Adults should definitely try this too.

Catch the ranger talks

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - ranger talk

There are also ranger talks happening at set timings throughout the park, where a park ranger will share more about the animals in the zone and field questions from curious park goers – like just how big the crocs here are and whether you’ll win in a fight with it.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - ranger talk meeting point

Just look out for the signs for the meeting point, be there on time, and you’re good to go.

Here is a breakdown of all the ranger talk locations and timings in Rainforest Wild Adventure East:

Ranger Talk Location Time(s)
Lemur Land Trail Ranger Talk Lemur Land 11am, 2pm, 3.30pm, 5pm
Okapi Ranger Talk Hidden Forest 10.30am, 3pm
Otter Ranger Talk Riverine Forest 9.30am, 2pm
Pygmy Hippo & Diana Monkey Ranger Talk Riverine Forest 9.40am, 2.10pm
Red Ravine Trail Ranger Talk Red Ravine Entrance 10am, 2.30pm

Stay overnight at Glamping in the Wild: Crocodile Lodge

Glamping in the Wild Crocodile Lodge

If you want to explore every inch of the parks, squeezing both zones into 1 day might be exhausting, especially with the hot weather, hikes, and queues for the attractions.

To slow down and enjoy the experience fully, you can stay overnight right beside the crocs at 1 of the 20 tents at Crocodile Lodge. This Glamping in the Wild: Crocodile Lodge experience comes with guided explorations and free Adventure+ experiences, as well as fast passes across both East and West zones.

Meals are provided, and you’ll get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area without the hubbub of the daytime crowds. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in nighttime activities like survival knot-tying and film screenings under the stars.

Prices start from $550/night.

Find out more about Glamping in the Wild: Crocodile Lodge.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East - Rangers Pitstop

Otherwise, the Rangers Pitstop is also a great place to refuel with some cool, sweet treats.

ArtScience Museum programmes

15 years since ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands opened, it’s been known for many things, not least its iconic blossoming lotus-like structure, and every parent’s favourite exhibit: teamLab Future World.

Did you know, though, that besides the blockbuster exhibitions that everyone goes for, the museum also has a bevy of other programmes that run quietly in the background? Equal parts intriguing and photo-worthy, this is us un-gatekeeping these massively underrated gems for your next tourist-in-Singapore adventure:

1. ArtScience Cinema

It’s not only the traditional cinemas that we need to support; there’s also ArtScience Cinema – a purpose-built screening room on Level 4 that showcases specially curated films you ain’t gonna find elsewhere.

Contours of Being, shown in this image, is screening in ArtScience Cinema until 28th June.

The diverse line-up here, which changes seasonally: feature films ranging from arthouse indies to Hollywood blockbusters, alongside artist retrospectives, experimental video works, compelling documentaries, and more.

If all that sounds too cheem for the little ones, this is our shout out to parents that you’ll also find kid-friendly films here too. In fact, the films that have been handpicked for juniors are specifically chosen for the way in which complex topics have been presented in an accessible way for younger audiences.

ArtScience Museum Robot Dreams
Robot Dreams, an animated film set in 1980s New York City where a lonely dog builds a robot to become his companion.

Take for example Robot Dreams and The Iron Giant – both of which are currently screening, which explore themes of companionship and empathy across differences in species and size.  Tip: Swing by on weekdays for free admission to many of their family-friendly programmes.

ArtScience Cinema holds both free and ticketed screenings, which you’ll have to refer to their cinema schedule to find out more about. The best part? The plush, cushy seats that are ult premium, and wireless headphones that provide an intimate audio experience.

2. VR Gallery

For an even cooler experience you ought to check out, there’s the VR Gallery – another permanent space that’s also on Level 4, that’s one of the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.

ArtScience Museum VR

Unlike traditional cinema, VR does not just place the audience in front of a story, but inside one. The viewer is no longer passive, becoming spatially aware and emotionally implicated in a way never before possible.

Now running till 16th August 2026 is Evolver: An Immersive Journey of Life and Breath by art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast, which runs complementary to one of the current headlining exhibits at ArtScience Museum, Flesh and Bones: The Art of Anatomy. This VR experience, narrated by award-winning actress Cate Blanchett, takes you into the human body, all the way to a singular cell – one of the trillions of building blocks that makes us, us.

P.S. It doesn’t matter if you’re bespectacled, because the headset comfortably fits over any eyewear you might be wearing.

Do note that this experience is not recommended for children under the age of 13.

3. ArtScience Laboratory, with free walk-in activities

Then, there’s something for the tinkerers, the inner child within us at ArtScience Laboratory, found in Basement 2 of the Museum, right beside the entrance to teamLab Future World.

ArtScience Museum Shadow

This learning space was created as a convergence point for art, science, and technology, that embraces and celebrates interdisciplinary collaboration through hands-on activities and inventive programmes.

All of its walk-in activities and programmes are centred around 5 themes: Inspired By, Scientific Sparks, Creative Constructs, Environmental Empathy, and Art of Being Calm. The multitude of programmes are suitable for visitors of all ages, because learning, as the wise ones tell us, is a lifelong journey.

Here are some of the activities that are available on a walk-in basis, free for visitors to explore at any time of the day:

Deep Field, an immersive art experience where you get to design your own plant and watch it bloom in AR, Inspired By: Olafur Eliasson – Colour and Light, where you experiment with shadows, colour, and light, as well as Inspired By: Patricia Piccinini –, where you can learn about genetic modification through creating your own paper puppet friend.

During the June hols, there will also be workshops and kids’ tours that focus on ocean life and imparting sustainable practices, which you can sign the little ones up for at just $5/pax.

4. ArtScience Interlude

ArtScience Interlude, on the other hand, is something you might have glimpsed, but never paid attention to. It is, after all, found in the Level 1 Lobby of ArtScience Museum, playing each hour on the hour from 11am daily.

ArtScience Museum Interlude
ArtScience Interlude: Leaving and Arriving by Lynn Loo

This moving image encounter, where a video artwork plays on the LED screen in the L1 lobby, was designed to invite visitors to pause and contemplate the art against the backdrop of the MBS skyline. A visual palate cleanser, if you will.

If you’ve always breezed through the lobby in the goal-driven way that most of us charge through life, take a breather and stop for a mo’ the next time you pass by. This is quite the reminder that art is all around us, should we take a moment to stop and appreciate it.

5. ArtScience Encounters

Finally, we get to ArtScience Encounters, another interdisciplinary programme that transforms the museum itself into part of the artwork. It capitalises on the Museum’s one-of-a-kind giant outdoor water feature, the B2 Oculus, turning it into a living canvas showcasing various experimental installations, site-specific performances, and contemplative soundscapes.

ArtScience Museum Oculus

In case you haven’t noticed, immersion is the name of the game at most of these alternative programmes at ArtScience Museum. ArtScience Encounters is one of the best-kept secrets at ASM, inviting visitors to step beyond the gallery walls and experience the building in an entirely new way.

The results are often intimate and unexpected. And with regularly refreshed presentations by local and international artists, it’s safe to say that no 2 visits will be quite the same.

Bonus: Seasonal micro festivals

Beyond exhibitions, ArtScience Museum also hosts a dynamic line-up of festivals throughout the year, from annual highlights to smaller seasonal programmes that dive deep into timely ideas shaping art, science, culture, and technology.

ArtScience Museum Sustainable Futures

Landmark festivals, such as In The Ether, bring together artists and thinkers for large-scale interdisciplinary experiences. Sustainable Futures, on the other hand, offers focused explorations of themes connected to the museum’s curatorial direction.

Each festival offers a different way to engage with the museum, whether through learning, making, listening or simply wandering through something unexpected. Since these programmes rotate across the year, there’s always something new on the horizon worth returning for.

Discover the rest of the ArtScience Museum

Explore a new side of ArtScience Museum, be it for your next solo day out, as a holiday thing-to-do with the kids, or date day activity with your sweetheart. The immersive exhibits make learning and exploration fun and impactful for all.

As Benjamin Franklin once said, “involve me, and I learn,” and that’s exactly what makes ArtScience Museum experience so memorable – it invites you to step beyond simply observing, and become part of the story.

ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples exhibition at Science Centre Singapore

For something we’re constantly reminded of as a “Garden City”, it’s easy to forget that Singapore is essentially an island country – completely surrounded by sea. The new ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples exhibition at the Science Centre Singapore reminds us exactly that, while highlighting just how interconnected we are to the ocean and the larger ecosystem.

We got a sneak peek of what’s in store, from Arctic ice fields to coral reefs – here’s what you can look forward to at the exhibition.

What is the exhibition all about?

ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples marks the global debut of the accumulated 20 years of research by the Tara Ocean Foundation. It features multi-zone environments for an immersive experience that allows you to navigate the quiet wonders and jaw-dropping spectacle of the ocean.

Panellists from Tara Ocean Foundation, RideFX, and NUS shared more about how the exhibition encompasses research from international waters to Singapore’s own marine ecology.

Founded by Agnès Troublé in 2003, the Tara Ocean Foundation is a nonprofit organisation that collaborates with renowned scientific institutions worldwide for research on the ocean and the marine ecosystem.

The foundation also embarks on sea voyages, like the Tara Coral, where the scientific schooner, Tara, makes its way through the Coral Triangle to understand why and how certain corals are able to withstand global warming.

Tara Ocean Foundation is also the team behind the Tara Polar Station, a long-term observatory and laboratory studying the Central Arctic Ocean. Their 1st expedition, the Tara Polaris I, was launched in 2026, studying the state of the Arctic’s ecosystems in order to refine climate model predictions.

SuperPark AfterHours

If your idea of a night out lately has been the same old dinner-and-drinks combo, this might shake things up a little. Starting on 26th June 2026, SuperPark Singapore is rolling out SuperPark AfterHours, a new adults-only experience where grown-ups can let loose in an indoor playground after dark.

Think neon lights, music blasting in the background, obstacle courses, arcade-style games, and dodgeball sessions without kids running around. Basically, your primary school energy, but with adult money and better outfits.

What is SuperPark AfterHours?

SuperPark AfterHours - slides

Held every Thursday and Friday night, AfterHours is designed for adults looking for something more active and social to do with friends, dates, or even colleagues after work. So if you’ve ever said, “Wah, adult life damn sian”, this might be your cue to go touch a trampoline instead of grass.

SuperPark AfterHours - ticketing

AfterHours is a recurring night event at SuperPark Singapore, located at Suntec City. The indoor playground will transform into an adults-only space with neon lighting and upbeat music, creating more of a party atmosphere than your usual family play zone.

There’ll be 2 regular themed nights:

AfterHours: Her’s Edition on Thursdays

SuperPark AfterHours - adults

Despite the name, this session is open to all adults. Thursdays will feature perks and promotions targeted at ladies, alongside the usual play activities.

Admission prices for AfterHours: Her’s Edition are $20.72 for members and $25.90 for the general public.

AfterHours: TGIF on Fridays

SuperPark AfterHours - games

Fridays are positioned as a bigger end-of-week blowout, with special promotions and a more energetic social vibe.

Admission prices for AfterHours: TGIF are $20.72 for members and $25.90 for the general public.

The first public launch edition happens on 26th June 2026

More details about the June launch programme are expected to be announced closer to the date, including the extended opening hours. Keep a cookout on their socials to get the latest updates.

SuperPark AfterHours - music

Every last Friday of the month, SuperPark will also host AfterHours: The Ultimate Party, a larger-scale themed event with different brand collaborations and curated experiences.

Ticket prices for The Ultimate Party are:

  • Early Bird: $25.90
  • Regular: $33.90
  • Final Release and Walk-in: $37.90

What can adults actually do at SuperPark?

SuperPark AfterHours - floor is lava

For the uninitiated, SuperPark is basically an indoor activity park packed with games and physical challenges. Instead of quietly sipping cocktails at a bar, you’ll be racing your friends through obstacle walls, testing your balance skills, or getting humbled at basketball reaction games.

SuperPark AfterHours - trampoline

Some of the main attractions include:

  • Ninja track obstacle courses
  • Trampolines
  • Climbing walls
  • Dodgeball areas
  • Interactive sports games
  • Slides and adventure zones

The AfterHours sessions are meant to turn these activities into a more social nightlife experience, complete with music and mood lighting.

Do I need to book tickets in advance?

While walk-ins may be available depending on capacity, booking early is probably the safer move, especially for the monthly Ultimate Party sessions.

Do I need to bring anything along?

SuperPark AfterHours - grip socks

Yes, bring along grippy socks if you have them as they are mandatory for entry into the play zones. Otherwise buy a pair on the spot for $3.50 which you can keep and bring for future play times.

Get ready for neon playground nights for your inner child

SuperPark AfterHours - jump

Between run clubs, wellness events, and experiential pop-ups becoming more popular lately, it’s not surprising that nightlife is starting to look a bit different too. SuperPark’s AfterHours feels like part fitness session, part chaotic friend hangout, and part playground fever dream in glowing neon colours. Honestly, it sounds a lot more memorable than queueing 2 hours for supper again.

Snow City Is Closing After 26 Years – Here’s Everything You Need To Know Before It Shuts On 30th Sep https://thesmartlocal.com/read/snow-city-singapore/ Wed, 20 May 2026 02:00:56 +0000 https://thesmartlocal.com/?p=288122 There’s also an outdoor rock climbing and abseiling wall for you to defrost.

Snow City at Jurong is closing in September 2026

After 26 years of giving Singaporeans a much-needed respite from the heat, Snow City is finally closing its doors on 30th September 2026. To mark the bittersweet occasion, they’re throwing one last hurrah by offering 30% off tickets and exclusive, limited-time experiences. Read on to find out more details and check out a guide to exploring Snow City before it melts.

Escape the heat with a 120m snow slide, igloos & icy playgrounds

As you step into Snow City’s snow chamber, you’re instantly hit with a cold gust of wind. That’s right: a sub-zero environment in Singapore. Your attention probably then turns to the huge slide that’s about 3 storeys high.

Dubbed the Glacier Luge, this 120m-long slide is completely made from ice, which means it’s extra slippery. Simply grab a small plastic sled, plop yourself down and hang on tight; by the way, you can go on the slide as many times as you want, so don’t feel shy to take repeat runs.

Snow City sculpturesImage credit: Snow City Singapore

If you’re no adrenaline junkie, just have a snowball fight near the icy playgrounds and chilly igloos. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. Snow City’s got more fun and definitely more snow in store for you.

Unleash your inner kid with bumper cars on ice

Bumper cars

This isn’t like your typical bumper car ride at Timezone Jurong Point. As the name “Drift on Ice” suggests, 2 passengers will get to manoeuvre the bumper car for 5 minutes, literally drifting on ice while crashing into other riders. Sounds fun, right?

Children who want to try this activity must be above 90cm, and those below 1.2m need to be accompanied by an adult.

Defrost at an outdoor rock climbing & abseiling wall

The Cliff

Once you’re satisfied freezing your butt off in the snow chambers, warm up your body at The Cliff, located just outside Snow City. The Cliff offers 10 climbing lanes of varying difficulties, so if you’re a noob at climbing, just pick the easiest path.

Since 20 climbers are allowed to participate at once, maybe have a friendly competition among yourselves to add a little spice. If you wanna build strong bonds instead, opt for one of the multiple team-building activities available too.

How to get to Snow City?

Getting to Snow City is easy; if you’re taking the train, alight at Jurong East MRT station. Afterwards, Snow City is just a 10-minute walk away. Alternatively, you can also take the bus no. 66, 178, 198, 355, and 984 and alight at the Aft S’pore Science Ctr bus stop (stop ID: 28261). Once you’ve gotten off, Snow City is a 2-minute walk away.

If you’ve opted to drive or ride into Snow City, you can park your vehicles there as well. The Snow City car park rates are as follows:

Cars: $0.70/30 minutes
Motorcycles: $0.78/entry

How much are tickets to Snow City?

You can either book your tickets online on the Snow City website, or in person at their ticketing booth. The prices for tickets to Snow City are as follows:

1 Hour Snow Play +

1 Bumper Car

Child: $23
Adult: $27
Senior: $22
2 Hours Snow Play Child: $24
Adult: $31
Senior: $26

To commemorate the 26 years of ice-cold memories that were made in Snow City, there will be a Snow Play package that includes 1 hour of Snow Play and 1 Bumper Car ride. Tickets for the package are priced at $16 for children and $19 for adults, which is a 30% discount from the usual price.

As for winterwear rentals, each visitor will be loaned a complimentary pair of winter boots and a winter jacket to don during their session. You can also rent waterproof pants ($5.45/adult, $4.40/child), gloves ($3.30/adult, $2.70/child), or purchase socks ($3.85/adult, $3.30/child) for more protection against the cold.

Chill at Snow City Singapore

Since winter is not here to stay – in Singapore at least – head down to Snow City to get your dose of winter experience. It’s fun for kids and adults – the place is filled to the brim with activities for everyone.

Admission Fee
From $19/child | $26/adult
Recommended tickets at S$6.28

Disney Garden of Wonder at Floral Fantasy

If there’s a group of people who have been busy lately, it’s Disney fans. Honestly, even we’ve been trying to keep up – one moment it’s the Disney Adventure cruise setting sail, the next it’s a Disney Cruise-themed light show at Jewel, followed by D23 Asia: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event making its way to SG, and now even a Disney Run on the horizon.

At this point, you probably feel like there’s barely time to catch your breath before the next magical drop, and you’re not wrong. After its successful debut in 2024, which wrapped up in June 2025, the Disney Garden of Wonder at Floral Fantasy in Gardens by the Bay is returning from 8th June 2026.

What is the Disney Garden of Wonder?

What are the highlights?

Displays featuring Disney Princesses

What to know about the Changi Airport Fit&Fun Zone

Changi Airport has long been hailed as one of the best in the world – and it’s not hard to see why. Where else can you find a butterfly garden, rock climbing walls, and an indoor waterfall all under one roof? And if you’ve got a long layover, you can even join a free Changi Airport tour to explore Singapore.

If you don’t know yet, Changi added another feather to its cap in early 2025 – the Fit&Fun Zone, a 400sqm wellness space designed to get you moving before your flight. With 5 vibrant, colour-coded zones featuring everything from a rope maze to trampoline pods, it’s the perfect spot to stretch out, burn a few calories, and rejuvenate for your journey ahead.

Where is Changi Airport’s Fit&Fun Zone?

You’ll find the Fit&Fun Zone inside Terminal 2’s transit area on Level 3, right above Dreamscape, Changi Airport’s lush indoor garden. While it’s most convenient for those flying out of Terminal 2, travellers from other terminals can easily get there via the Skytrain.

It’s open 24/7, so whether you’re on a red-eye flight or a long layover, you can drop by anytime to shake off that travel fatigue. Plus, entry is free.

5 coloured zones with trampoline pods & spar pods

Changi Airport’s Fit&Fun Zone is split into 5 vibrant zones – Green, Orange, Pink, Yellow, and Blue – each designed in a unique way to get you moving before your flight.

If you’re travelling with kids, make a beeline for the Yellow Zone, where they can bounce to their heart’s content on the 5 trampoline pods that range from 3m-3.5m high. These pods are equipped with sensors that trigger music, so they can jump and groove to catchy tunes while getting all that pre-flight energy out.

Over at the Orange Zone, little ones can channel their inner Rocky Balboa at the Spar Pods. These soft punching bags, suspended by thin ropes, are perfect for a fun, no-contact boxing session. Even the 3D petal structures on the walls are fair game for a jab or two – no gloves required.

For those who don’t want to skip strength training while travelling, the Pink Zone has you covered. It’s kitted out with 4 pull-down levers attached to weights ranging from 2kg-8kg, so you can sneak in a quick workout before heading to your gate.

Meanwhile, the Blue Zone is all about testing your agility. This rope maze, shaped like a cave, challenges you to find your way through without touching the ropes – think of it as an airport-friendly version of Mission: Impossible.

And if all you want is a quiet moment to recharge, the Green Zone offers the perfect escape. Grab a seat on the pendulum chairs and take in the tranquil views of Dreamscape.

There’s no reason to say “there’s nothing to do at the airport” again. Whether you’re killing time during a flight delay or just one of those people who insists on reaching the airport 4 hours early, the Fit&Fun Zone at T2 is a solid way to keep yourself entertained.

But while everyone’s hyped about these new attractions, there’s one that’s equally worth exploring that might fly under the radar – the Mandai Boardwalk. This 3.3km walking trail lines the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo, offering a peaceful stroll for free.

So if you’re heading to Mandai, don’t just zoom straight into the zoo – here’s what you can expect when you take a detour and head to Mandai Boardwalk:

Preparing for the Mandai Boardwalk trail

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Mandai Boardwalk is a scenic trail, but tackling it in Singapore’s unpredictable weather can be a challenge. Before making plans, check the weather forecast to dodge sudden downpours and gear up accordingly. We recommend essentials like a trusty portable fan, sunscreen, and a bottle of water. It wouldn’t hurt to bring along an umbrella, for added shade and in case it rains.

The boardwalk is designed to circle the Mandai East area, so you won’t have any access to restrooms, water coolers, or restaurants while on the trail. Once you’ve embarked, it’s just you and nature – so make sure you have a hearty meal, a full bottle, and an empty bladder before you begin your journey.

Iora’s Nest

The best spot for reservoir views & birdwatching

The boardwalk has 2 entrances – Kingfisher’s Cave from the Mandai Wildlife EAST entrance and Tree Frog’s Hangout near the River Wonders entrance. There’s also a self-guided digital trail to help you discover more about Mandai’s biodiversity along the boardwalk, which you can access by scanning the QR code at either entrance.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

The Kingfisher’s Cave entrance is a little hidden, so keep an eye out for the sign that points to the boardwalk.

If you decide to start from Tree Frog’s Hangout, you’ll hit a fork in the trail about 5 minutes in.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Marked by a huge tree, the path on the left leads to the rest of the trail while the path on the right leads to Iora’s Nest. But if you’re starting from Kingfisher’s Cave, you’ll walk an uninterrupted trail to this very spot.

Turn right and head to Iora’s Nest first as it’s a lookout point – the highlight of the boardwalk that promises stunning views of the reservoir.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

You’ll be treated to scenic views all around you, even if you aren’t at the prime lookout spot yet. Take some time to peer into the shallow waters below to try and spot aquatic life.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Keep an eye out for stingrays playfully gliding in the water, circling the shade and sun, as though trying to say hello. Other animals you could potentially find in the water are mudskippers and the occasional water monitor lizard.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Don’t just focus on the stingrays – take a moment to soak in the lush greenery on both sides of the trail. If you’re lucky, you could spot the star of the show, the Common Iora, hidden amongst the trees.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Iora’s Nest is a visual treat after the long, flat lines of the boardwalk. The curved railings are designed to mimic the Iora bird’s complex nest formations. While the view from the lookout is beautiful, the real highlight is the cooling breeze that’s sure to make the stop even more enjoyable.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

The rest stop has plenty of seating, so feel free to rest your feet for as long as you need to enjoy the view.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

It’s time to tackle the rest of the trail after a well-deserved break. If you already feel like you had your fill of nature, feel free to leave the way you came, instead of continuing on the path to the left.

Something interesting about this boardwalk is that it isn’t marked by how far you’ve walked, but by the rest stops it has along the way. It’s a great way to take the pressure off and focus less on how much further there is to go. With each stop, you’ll have more time to relax and take in the scenery around you.

Lizard’s Lounge

A rest station inspired by the Malayan Water Monitor

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

The boardwalk isn’t just a scenic trail – it’s designed with carefully curated plants and vegetation to attract and preserve the natural habitats of the wildlife living in the area. You’re sure to find some sort of wildlife chilling nearby with some patience and a keen eye.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Sure enough, we spotted this spider – no bigger than my thumb – on the way to Lizard’s Lounge. With its legs neatly resting in 4 pairs, it could very well be an Argiope Katherina, a type of orb spider. This is just one of the many cool critters you might encounter along the boardwalk, with the added benefit of being up-close, without a glass wall between you and nature.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

One part of this station’s name is right – it’s definitely ideal for lounging. This clearing will treat you to a completely different view of the reservoir, parking you right in the middle. You might even spot a Malayan Water Monitor swimming or basking in the cool water.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

The rest stops are not sheltered, so remember to bring an umbrella that’s suitable for both rain and sun.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

On our way to the next rest stop, we found this gigantic leaf that looks like something out of Jurassic Park and took a cute photo beside it before continuing on our journey.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

And if that short break at Lizard’s Lounge wasn’t enough, seek respite at this sheltered dock that’s giving serious Pinterest vibes. It’s perfect for photo ops and a break from the unforgiving sun. Plus, photos taken from this angle don’t look like you’re in Singapore at all, so you can pretend you’re overseas to make your friends jealous.

This dock marks the halfway point of the boardwalk, as there are 2 rest stops – Eagle’s Perch and Damselfly’s Wing – left to go.

Eagle’s Perch

Spot wildlife & birdwatch at this rest stop

The path towards Eagle’s Perch appears to be where a family of monkeys live. Keep a lookout for these cheeky primates as they hang out on the boardwalk railings, swinging from tree to tree or even sitting casually right in the middle of the path.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

The monkeys we saw were calm and docile, but it’s still best to observe them from a distance and refrain from petting them. Monkeys are also known to be scavengers, so keep plastic and food away from their sight. Feeding them is a big no-no as well.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Don’t fret if you happen to only see 1 or 2 monkeys on your walk; stay a little longer and you might just be rewarded for your patience. We did just that and managed to spot a whole family of them.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Spend some time taking pictures and observing their behaviour. There are even baby monkeys playfully pulling branches down to the boardwalk and adult monkeys munching on berries.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

As you venture further down the boardwalk, you’ll notice that the path is lined with metal overhead railings that allow plants to grow into a shaded shelter. It’s a true representation of Singapore – how nature and urban life interact and co-exist.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Eagle’s Perch is probably our favourite rest stop of the bunch. Designed with optimal birdwatching angles in mind, you could spend hours here just waiting to catch a glimpse of the Grey-headed Fish Eagle. Logs are strategically scattered across the area to encourage wildlife perching and double up as a closer viewing point by the reservoir for you to bird watch. If that is your intention, don’t forget to pack a pair of binoculars.

And even if you don’t see any eagles, the view is spectacular enough to make the trek worth it. If you reach Eagle’s Perch around 4.30pm as we did, you’ll be glad to know that the weather’s cooler at this time, and you’ll feel a constant breeze picking up at the boardwalk.

Damselfly’s Wing

The final rest station inspired by damselflies & dragonflies

While taking in the scenic views and spotting wildlife is great, your safety is equally important. That’s why this lightning alert pillar lights up during storms, alerting you to leave the boardwalk ASAP. But don’t panic if you’re caught in the middle – there are shelters along the way for you to wait it out until it’s safe to continue.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Before you arrive at the Damselfly’s Wing rest station, you’ll walk through this arch formed completely out of leaves. The branches bend delicately over the path and you’ll be able to take cool sunlight shots through the leaves.

The flora planted around this area are specifically chosen to attract damselflies and dragonflies, so if you’re interested in these winged insects, this stop’s for you.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

Take a much-needed break at this rest station – it’s about a 30-minute stroll from Eagle’s Perch to Damselfly’s Wing.

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

This hut by the reservoir marks the end of the trail if you start your journey from the Tree Frog’s Hangout.

Kingfisher’s Cave

An entrance & exit with cool architecture

Mandai Boardwalk Trail

There’s still 1 final sight to see as you bid the boardwalk goodbye. The Kingfisher’s Cave is an entry and exit point that features wooden arches mimicking the nesting habits of the Kingfisher.

Is it worth visiting the Mandai Boardwalk?

Mandai Boardwalk is an accessible destination thanks to the gentle slopes and largely flat terrain. This means that anyone from families with young kids to those who don’t do cardio, can all enjoy walking through the space. Plus, admission to the trail is completely free.

For those curious about the rest stops, they are littered throughout the trail and within a manageable distance from each other, so you’ll be able to rest your feet before they start aching.

While we breezed through the trail, feel free to take your time and keep a lookout for critters along your hike. After all, the boardwalk was built to attract biodiversity to the area by enhancing the water-edge vegetation over which it was constructed.

With Mandai Boardwalk’s proximity to Singapore Zoo and River Wonders, you could easily spend a whole day here with an itinerary chock-full of nature, animals, and trekking. You could head to the boardwalk first, or wind down at the trail after a day at the zoo.

How to get to Mandai Boardwalk

Mandai Wildlife Reserve Map

Getting to Mandai Boardwalk via public transport is pretty straightforward. Take the MRT to Khatib Station (NS14) on the North-South Line, then board the Mandai Khatib Shuttle at Exit A Passenger Pick-up Point.

The shuttle runs daily from 8.30am to 12am, with buses arriving every 15 minutes during regular hours and every 20 minutes between 11pm and midnight. It costs $2.50 per passenger for those aged 7 and above, so it’s an affordable add-on to what is otherwise a completely free outing.

If you’re driving or taking a Grab, head down Mandai Road and follow the signs for Mandai Wildlife Reserve. There’s a multi-storey carpark on-site, and it’s generally easy to get a space on weekday mornings.

Enjoy a stroll along Mandai Boardwalk

With a scenic lookout point and convenient rest stops along the way, the new Mandai Boardwalk is the perfect way to get your steps in, whether you’re a frequent hiker or a nature lover. A full hike around the trail is estimated to take 70 to 85 minutes – be sure to head down early if you’re looking to scale the entire boardwalk as the last entry is at 6pm.
