Best bars in Singapore

Whether you’re hunting for cocktail bars in Singapore, a moody speakeasy, a rooftop bar with skyline views, or somewhere near Clarke Quay or Tanjong Pagar for a post-work tipple, Singapore’s nightlife scene has something for everyone. We’ve rounded up the best bars in Singapore, covering everything from award-winning craft cocktail spots to fun arcade bars and options for teetotallers.

1. Fish Pool at The NCO Club

Live mermaid performances with premium seafood & tropical cocktails

Best Bars In Singapore Fish Pool

Under the sea takes on a whole new meaning at Fish Pool, JW Marriott Singapore South Beach’s underwater cocktail bar in The NCO Club. It’s open Wednesdays to Saturdays, when you can wine and dine with interactive mermaid performances in their Olympic-sized diving pool, happening each night at 7.15pm.

Treat yourself to a selection of raw, premium seafood inspired by Asian, European and Latin American flavours – think Cured Yellowtail ($24++) with rock melon and yuzu pepper sauce; and Seabass Crudo ($26++) topped with seaweed powder and sliced truffle.

On the drinks front, check out Ocean Inspiration ($28++) for an oceanic tipple concocted with oyster tincture and smoky 10 year-Laphroaig, or R&T Heights ($26++) – rum and tonic, rather than gin and tonic, with a tropical twist. For non-alcoholic drinks, you’ve got mocktails like Pandan Sling ($18++) and Lemongrass Ice Tea ($18++).

Nearest MRT: Esplanade MRT (CC3)

2. Anouska’s

Prohibition-era inspired bar designed by a former Bond girl

Take a stroll through the idyllic neighbourhood of Duxton, and you might find yourself gravitating like a moth to the flame towards the opulence of Duxton Reserve and its in-house bar – Anouska’s.

Designed by former Bond girl and actress turned designer, Anouska Hempel, this namesake bar embodies the glamour of the Prohibition era with its stained glass statement pieces and a gold and black colour theme. The menu takes you on a journey across Asia with shelf spirits, premium wines, local craft beers, artisanal Chinese teas and cocktails injected with nostalgic Eastern influences.

Ready yourself for a trip around the Orient with cocktails such as On Her Majesty’s Secret Service ($26++), a martini with hints of yuzu and green tea bitters; and Chen Pi Collins ($26++), a combination of mandarin-infused gin, sparkling water, citrus and rock sugar.

If you’re feeling peckish, make sure to order some food off the menu from the adjacent Yellow Pot Restaurant. You won’t go wrong with some Fried Lion’s Mane Mushrooms ($27++) served with farm fresh avocado purée, Fried Prawns ($32++) topped with Bonito Aioli or pop a couple of highly addictive Szechuan Crispy Chicken ($41++) – all paired perfectly with a selection of cocktails.

Nearest MRT: Maxwell (TE18)

3. Whiskey Library & Jazz Club

>1,000 whiskeys available

If there’s a heaven on earth for whiskey lovers, it’ll probably be here at Whiskey Library & Jazz Club where you have access to more than 1,000 rare, award-winning whiskeys.

Situated in The Vagabond Club, the first and only one in Asia to feature interiors by the celebrated French designer Jacques Garcia, perfect for those who like their luxury with a generous touch of character, Whiskey Library & Jazz Club will surely elevate any casual drink sesh and and transport you to a realm of fantasy – from the colossal gold brass monkey on the back bar and the ostentatious golden tree sitting in the corner.

If you’re not sure where to start, don’t be afraid to ask the bartenders or service staff for their winning recommendations. On top of their arsenal of whiskies, The Whiskey Library serves up a hearty dose of entertainment in the form of jazz nights every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8.30pm.

Give their collection of cigars from all over the world a go to recreate that scene from The Godfather. Whiskey enthusiasts can sign up for their membership, which not only gives you discounts on bottles, but 10 free stays at The Vagabond Club and access to the hotel’s gym.

Not only that, you’ll even be able to get your own locker at the bar to store your personal whiskey. Each locker stores up to 15 bottles, and you’ll be able to bring in a bottle of your own with every two bottles purchased from them. To top it all off, you’ll also receive a fancy tasselled locker key as well.

Nearest MRT: Jalan Besar (DT22)

4. Komyuniti Bar & Restaurant

Convenient Orchard location & regularly updated cocktail creations

all priced at $23++ and $16++ each, respectively.

Tucked away as YOTEL’s in-house bar, Komyuniti is a well-kept secret. But its location in the heart of Orchard makes it incredibly accessible, whether you’re after a post-work tipple or weekend hangout.

Besides regularly releasing new creations so repeat customers always have something to look forward to, they also have a Sober Series – delicious mocktails that are nonetheless inventive so your teetotaller friends need not FOMO.

The latest menu features cocktails from 4 different series – Klassic, Hito, Acid, and Fruit. Try the vodka-based Manga ($23++) with chilli herb liqueur if you like your drinks with a spicy kick; or I Have Nutting But Chew ($23++) for a mix of cognac, coffee and pistachio faernum. Every month, the bar also features a number of seasonal cocktails going for just $17++ per glass. Cheers to that!

Nearest MRT: Orchard (NS22/TE14)

5. MO Bar

World-class cocktails & views of Marina Bay

If you’re looking for a spot that pairs killer views with serious craft, MO BAR at Mandarin Oriental has just dropped its latest menu, Vol. 7 Modern Localism, The City of Art. This time around, they’ve gone full #supportlocal, collaborating with 11 homegrown creators, ranging from perfumers and designers to the legends behind Bettr Barista and Dopa Dopa Creamery. The result is a 15-drink lineup that feels like a liquid love letter to a day in the life of someone who wants to explore the lesser-known parts of Singapore.

Pine-Dustry ($26++) and Velour Kiss ($26++).

Start your “morning” with the Sifr Fizz ($26++), a refreshing highball scented with essential oils from Kampong Gelam’s Sifr Aromatics; or get a caffeine kick with the Kopi Pumptini ($26++), a toasty Espresso Martini riff made with Bettr Barista’s signature blend and a hint of pumpkin. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t miss the Dopa? Dopa! ($26++), which basically tastes like a liquid pistachio kunafa. It’s got salted caramel V.S.O.P. and a creamy crown that’s pure indulgence.

As the sun sets, the vibes get a bit moodier with drinks like the Reclaimed Sling 3.0 ($27++), a crisp, modern glow-up of our unofficial national cocktail. For those who love a bit of umami, the Jo-hwa ($27++) – created with Korean spot ANJU – hits the spot with mushroom-infused gin and pear. Whether you’re a cocktail geek or just here for the chio aesthetic and CBD skyline, this new menu proves that MO BAR is still one of the heavyweights in the local bar scene.

6. Cool Cats

Live music acts with music history-inspired drinks

Live music starts at 8pm Tuesdays to Thursdays, and 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Another bar to check out at The NCO Club in JW Marriott Singapore South Beach is Cool Cats – live music lounge with music-inspired drinks. This modern take on speakeasies sees live jazz, soul, blue, and R&B acts, in a heritage building that dates back to the 1950s.

Raise a glass to Ella Fitzgerald, Queen of Jazz, with Singapore Sling 75 ($26++), made with our very own Tanglin Orchid gin, or take a trip to Harlem with the Harlem Revolution ($26++). This whiskey cocktail spotlights Maker’s Mark Kentucky Bourbon; otherwise, the Coco Grove ($26++) is a 3-ingredient tipple starring fat-washed coconut oil and pandan.

Look forward to acts by regional and international artistes each evening, with cover charges varying according to where you wish to be seated. These start from $20 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from $28 from Thursdays to Saturdays.

Nearest MRT: Esplanade (CC3)

7. Cat Bite Club

Largest collection of agave & rice spirits in SG

Best bars in Singapore - Cat Bite Club
Featured cocktails are Puss In Boot ($26++) and Straight Outta Scallion ($26++).
Image adapted from: Cat Bite Club

If you’re looking for a spot that takes the “hidden bar” vibe to the next level, keep your eyes peeled for a glowing red Cheshire Cat grin at Duxton Road. Cat Bite Club isn’t just another speakeasy, though; it’s a deep dive into the world of agave and rice spirits that’ll turn even the most casual drinker into a connoisseur

They’ve recently ditched the standard menu for a super playful, education-focused format. Each page is dedicated to a specific spirit, featuring cocktails like the chilli oil-washed mezcal in Get The MSG? ($26++) or the creamy Ube Noir ($27++) with Luzhou Laojiao Baijiu.

Utility tip: If you’re curious about the base spirit, you can add a small neat pour to your cocktail for just $10 – perfect for training your palate to spot those smoky or floral notes. Don’t forget to ask for their Spirits Explorer Passport, where you can log your progress through their massive collection of over 200 bottles. Hit 50 slots, and you’ll unlock 10% off spirits for life.

Plus, a portion of the proceeds from their rotating Milk Punch for a Cause goes to local cat charities, so you’re basically doing a good deed with every sip. And if you need some munchies, trust us and get the Three Cheese Quesadilla ($17++).

8. Jigger & Pony

Award-winning cocktails at Tanjong Pagar from one of the best bars in Asia

If you’re fresh to the bar scene but would like to dive straight into Singapore’s best drinks, do add Jigger & Pony’s award-winning cocktails to your list. The bar has consistently been ranked on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list.

The bar’s winning strategy is to take on the classics, give them their own spin, and do them really well. Like in their version of the Espresso Martini ($28++), which taps into the flavour profile of coffee flower honey to elevate the nuanced bitterness of espresso and cacao tuile in the drink.

The Spicy Margarita ($28++) is another winning drink where you can choose the spicy level, and the drink is served with an agave lollipop instead of the usual salt rim. We also recommend giving Ugly Tomatoes ($28++) a shot. This drink combines Hendrick’s Orbium gin withheirloom beefsteak tomatoes, kummel spices, and elderflower.

Nearest MRT: Tanjong Pagar (EW15)

Jigger & Pony

9. Atrium Bar 317

Weekday Happy Hour house pours from $10++

Just outside the CBD at the lobby of Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium is its eponymous watering hole – Atrium Bar 317.

If you’re in need of a drink after work, pop by to enjoy Happy Hour, which runs from 4pm-8pm daily. That’s when you’ll get house pours on beer, red, and white wines, and other liquors from $10++ a glass.

Dive into the cocktail collection inspired by familiar Singaporean flavours, like the drink named Laksa ($20++) featuring kafir lime leaves and clarified coconut milk. For a more refreshing tipple, pick Exploring Botanica ($20++) based on Singapore Botanic Gardens, of course.

We know better than to drink on an empty stomach, but there’s no need to head anywhere else for a pre-game snack. Atrium Bar 317 serves bar bites like Truffle Fries ($20++) and Assorted Cheese and Cold Cuts ($38++).

Nearest MRT: Havelock (TE16)

10. Native

Asian-inspired cocktails using ingredients like gochujang & jackfruit

Those whose hobbies include checking out cocktail bars probably don’t need an introduction to Native. Here, the cocktails are inspired by regional ingredients – think a Black Rice ($26++) whiskey, made up of toasted black rice, coconut, and wild berries; and Peranakan ($28++) – a concoction of jackfruit rum, laksa leaves, goat milk, candlenut, and gula melaka.

The location itself is a cosy 3-storey shophouse on Amoy Street, with one of the floors being turned into a fermentation lab where they experiment with their creations. They once became famous for a drink that included edible ants, and have since maintained their status as a bar that focuses on sustainability and innovation.

Nearest MRT: Maxwell (TE18) and Telok Ayer (DT18)

11. Forest3 Cafe

Darts & karaoke in the CBD

If you need a new after-work hangout spot, it’s time to bookmark Forest3 Cafe, a darts and KTV bar in the CBD that’s practically an adult playground. Grab a drink and head to one of the many dart machines – there are 22 to be exact.

You’ll have to purchase Dartslive credits (from $10), which come with 2 hours to play, with a minimum spend of 1 drink per person. But don’t worry, prices here are reasonable. House pours starting from $10, or opt for a bucket bundle at $45 for 5 bottles of Carlsberg, Heineken, or Corona beer. House darts are free at the counter – you just have to pay a $3 deposit, which you’ll get back upon returning all darts.

If you’re more of a KTV person, grab the mic and show off your singing skills on the open-style karaoke podium.

Nearest MRT: Tanjong Pagar (EW15)

12. The Store

Cosy neighbourhood hangout with $11 cocktails from 4pm-6pm

Cocktail bars may be slightly more expensive, but The Store has a pretty good lobang going on. From 4pm to 6pm every Tuesday to Saturday, you can get $11 cocktails off a special menu. Some options include the Espresso Nutty-Ni served with a wafer and the tropical Jungle Mule.

For sharing plates, have your pick from the White Wine Mussels ($28++) served with garlic bread or a set of 3  Wagyu Sliders ($32++). Heartier mains include Onglet Steak ($38++) and Lamb Rack ($38++).

The bar itself is super aesthetic too. Upon entering The Store, it’ll feel as if you just stepped into someone’s living room, complete with leather couches and colourful rugs. Just keep a lookout for the entrance, though – it’s rather hidden with no signboards outside.

Nearest MRT: Maxwell (TE18)

13. Sago House

Hidden on the 3rd floor of a shophouse in Chinatown with a weekly rotating menu

Sago House is easily one of the coolest speakeasies in Chinatown. It’s tucked in between the stretch of eateries along Sago Street; all you have to do is look for a green door which will open up to a flight of stairs leading you to the 3rd floor. But don’t be fooled by its unpretentiousness; the cocktails here are worth shouting about.

We can’t recommend a cocktail here, since the menu changes every week. But look forward to unique tipples such as Mala Xiao La, a concoction of Bombay Sapphire Gin, Mala Cordial, watermelon, and lemon. Otherwise, just ask the bartender to shake up a bespoke cocktail according to your tastes.

Nearest MRT: Maxwell (TE18) and Tanjong Pagar (EW15)

14. Level 33

Microbrewery with breathtaking views of Marina Bay

Best bars in Singapore - Level 33

Beer fans looking for a new watering hole can now make their way to LeVel 33, Singapore’s highest urban microbrewery. Located on the 33rd level of Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, the bar provides a good space to catch the sunset and escape the crowds at the same time.

Out of their huge brewing kettles come 5 types of craft beers – the Blond Lager, India Pale Ale, Stout, House Porter, and Wheat Beer. You can get a taste of all 5 when you order the Beer Tasting Paddle ($26.90++) that comes with 100ml tasters.

If you prefer something lighter, check out the bar’s craft beer cocktails. We recommend their signature Flair From Paris ($26++), which consists of the wheat beer, lychee syrup, berry syrup, champagne, and creme de cassis. Food wise, check out their Australian Barramundi ($39++), a pan-seared fillet served with charcoal-grilled squid and Tuscan kale.

Nearest MRT: Marina Bay (CE2/NS27/TE20) and Raffles Place (EW14/NS26)

15. Long Bar

Birthplace of the Singapore Sling

Best bars in Singapore - Long Bar raffles Hotel

We’ve tasted numerous Singapore Slings around the island, but if you’re looking for the birthplace of this drink, Long Bar at Raffles Hotel is where you should fix your eyes and palate on.

Their Original Singapore Sling ($44++) was first created in 1915 for the sole purpose of giving women an excuse to drink alcohol in public without being judged as immodest. The drink was created with a feminine pink hue to pass off as nothing more than fruit juice when it’s actually infused with a clear base of gin.

The bar has a unique culture of encouraging guests to sweep peanut shells off tables, so when you see the floor littered with peanut remnants, don’t be surprised. We’re quite sure this is the only place in Singapore that doesn’t penalise people for “littering”.

Nearest MRT: City Hall (EW13/NS25) and Esplanade (CC3)

16. Atlas

Great Gatsby-inspired decor

Best bars in Singapore - Atlas

If you’re looking for an extra luxurious drinking experience, check out Atlas – a bar inspired by The Great Gatsby. The interior is opulently decorated with gold-plated statues, posh sofas and an alcohol shelf stretching across 2 levels. The ceiling is another stunner as it’s intricately decorated with bronze-coloured details of antelopes galloping through trees and fields.

The bar has over 1,000 varieties of gins and tonics, but if you want a personalised surprise, opt for the Bartender’s Choice G&T (from $27++). These drinks use a rotating selection of gin from the Gin Tower, and might differ night-to-night, depending on who’s on bartending duty that day.

Pair your drink with some of the bar’s delicious red meats. We recommend the classic Steak Frites ($52++), which has been elevated to include smoked bone marrow butter to be served alongside fries, jus, and watercress salad.

Nearest MRT: Bugis (DT14/EW12)

Fans of glamping can now curl up in boho teepee huts while sipping on cocktails at Mr Stork, located on the rooftop of Andaz Singapore hotel.

While admiring the view that overlooks Kampong Glam, try their draught cocktails like NFT – Never Forget Taste ($25++) featuring Botanist gin and floral flavours; or one of the signature cocktails such as Smooth Operator ($22++) with Jack Daniel’s No.7 Whiskey as the spirit. Pair your glass with satisfying bar bites such as Mr. Stork Sliders ($25++) and K-Pop Chicken ($22++).

18. Bar Stories

Drinks customised according to personality

If you’ve ever wondered how creative drinks can get, well, Bar Stories raises the bar for creativity by creating drinks based on your personality. This is the only bar in Singapore that doesn’t have a cocktail menu because it believes that every drink should be made differently, just like people’s characters.

To get started, the bartender will ask you a series of simple questions before creating your bespoke potion. The bar only has space for 12 people, so be sure to grab a seat early.

19. 28 HongKong Street

Speakeasy bar in the CBD with seasonal specials

bars in singapore - 28 Hongkong street
Image credit: 28 HongKong Street via Facebook

28 HongKong Street is a name that many might’ve heard of – but whether we’ve seen it, might be a different story altogether. You’ll have to look hard to find this speakeasy bar hidden in a shophouse on HongKong Street. Enter though, and you’ll be in a secret enclave setting the mood for a night of deep conversations and people-watching alike.

You won’t go wrong with the bar’s menu. Ask the bartender if they have any seasonal specials, or sip on an array of American craft cocktails. Some highlights include the smooth and silky Cognac Milk Punch ($28++) mixed with Rémy Martin VSOP and spices. To satisfy the tummy, nibble on small plates like Brussels & bacon ($18++) or sandwiches like Beef Chilly Dog ($18++).

Nearest MRT: Clarke Quay (NE5)

20. Level Up

Singapore’s go-to arcade bar & a place for live music

If you’re looking to take your drinking game up another level, there’s no better place to do that than at Level Up. This retro gaming bar has 10 game machines, including the old-school X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Puzzle Bobble, and Metal Slug.

If you’re the competitive sort, check out the basketball machines or go for a game of Bishi Bashi. Games aside, check out their beers (from $16++) and cocktails (from $18++). At happy hour, which happens from 5pm-8pm daily, you can get a beer bucket of 5 for $50++.

Specialising in shots with various flavours

Those looking for extra shots to improve their drinking tolerance can have ample practice at Chupitos Bar, Singapore’s first and only bar that specialises in shots. There are 2 pages worth of shots on the menu, starting from $12++. Get a platter of 6 vibrantly coloured shots for $40++ that’ll give you and your friends the high you’re looking for.

The bar also offers happy hour deals where bevvies such as shooters, boozy zlushies, draft beers, and even bar bites like Loaded Nachos and Naked Oysters go for $10++ each till 8pm. If you’re a hardcore drinker who wants to set a new record, Chupitos Bar has a drinking challenge which promises winners a place in their Hall of Fame if you can down 10 shots in 60 seconds.

Nearest MRT: Clarke Quay (NE5) and Fort Canning (DT20)

22. No. 5 Emerald Hill

And we literally mean a couple – this bar has 1-for-1 martinis all day long. We recommend checking out their fruit-inspired soju martinis such as yuzu and peach, going for 2 for $30.

Nearest MRT: Somerset (NS23)

23. Acid Bar

Live bands jamming from Wednesday to Sunday

bars in singapore - acid bar interiors

Drinking the night away while belting it out with your friends is one way to make your friendship even more solid. If you’re down for that, Acid Bar is right up your alley.

Known for their live bands that play from in the evenings, the bar starts to fill in earlier due to their $8++ happy hour deals on draught beer, wine, and house spirits. Live music starts at 8pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays; and at 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

For lightweights, the bar has a decent selection of cocktails that won’t feel like you’re downing straight alcohol. Get drinks like Lime Margarita ($24++) and Pink Margarita ($18++) that have a fruit juice base that easily masks the taste of alcohol.

Nearest MRT: Somerset (NS23)

Acid Bar & Restaurant

24. The Spiffy Dapper

Custom-made drinks

Jokingly self-proclaimed as ‘The Worst Bar in Singapore, ‘ The Spiffy Dapper is a speakeasy along River Valley that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Rest assured, that is far from the truth. Drinks wise, The Spiffy Dapper’s got an impressive range of alcohol selections, and a drink menu carefully crafted by the team.

Out of all the drinks on their menu, we recommend giving their Shiekh On The Level ($26++) a shot. The beverage contains ingredients such as Turkish black tea, gin sour, and cardamom before being topped with a Turkish delight for a sweet finish.

Nearest MRT: Fort Canning (DT20)

25. Hopscotch

Bars that create locally-inspired cocktails hold a special place in our hearts, and that’s why Hopscotch has made it into our list. The bar cleverly injects local flavours like milo, atap chee, and chendol into cocktails.

The bar also creates customised drinks through a simple game. To play, simply give bartenders 3 random words about anything related to your drink preferences and they’ll spin a cocktail mix out of it.

Best beach clubs in Singapore

Beach clubs are one of the best places to relax if you’re looking for a momentary escape from the hustle and bustle of city life – and Singapore has its fair share of great ones.

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly hangout spot, a place with live music, or simply want to get your hands on yummy nosh, check out these best beach clubs in Singapore:

1. Tipsy Unicorn

Unicorn-themed food & fitness classes

Tipsy Unicorn

You’ll be able to spot Tipsy Unicorn once you step onto Siloso Beach. If the purple-striped loungers and umbrellas don’t give it away, the neon lights and pumping EDM definitely will. Here, guests have the option of being close to the waves by opting for a daybed or a cabana. But if you’re in a group and want an intimate place to party, there’s also a private lounge indoors.|

It’s not a list of best beach clubs in Singapore without delectable food, and Tipsy Unicorn doesn’t disappoint. Even the pickiest of eaters will have something to munch on when the menu has dishes like pasta, seafood, burgers, and sandwiches available. But we recommend their spin on local favourites like beef hor fun ($28) and fried carrot cake ($16) that are fried with a distinct wok hei flavour.

No worries if you’re the designated driver of the night: there are mocktails too like the litchi-nade ($14) which is a lychee-flavoured lemonade.

Don’t worry about packing on pounds from all the feasting you’ll be doing. Tipsy Unicorn holds fitness classes 3 times a week. You can even get a protein shake ($17) after your workout to really build those gainz.

Insider tips for beach clubs in Singapore

Beach clubs are no doubt the place to go for a chillaxing day being out in the sun with plenty of good food and booze. But before you pack your bikinis, trunks, and sunscreen, we gathered some insider tips from an ex-employee of a beach club that’ll help you make the most of your day.

As you’re likely to be tempted to frolic in the water, a good rule of thumb is to bring your own towel. Most beach clubs charge a rental fee of $5-$8.

Likewise, most beach clubs in Singapore have in-house restrooms and rinse-off areas. But maybe hold off plans to continue your day out and about as shower facilities might not be included, unless you don’t mind a little residual saltwater, of course.

Lastly, while many of these places are pet-friendly, it’s always best to check with the establishment whether your furkid is allowed and if they need to be leashed.

Chill out at these best beach clubs in Singapore

Beach club in Singapore

From Sentosa to Changi Beach, there are plenty of beach clubs in Singapore for you to pick and choose from. You don’t necessarily have to go on a long vacay or staycay to relax. The cool sea breeze, delicious food, live music, and super chill vibes are sometimes all we really need to recharge ourselves from our hectic lives, even if just for a few hours.

Beach clubs also make great alternatives to restaurants or cafes if you’re looking for a place to hang out with your friends. We recommend making a reservation before you head down, but do keep in mind the minimum spend at each spot.

What do you wear to a beach club in Singapore?

Wear whatever you like: bikinis, swimsuits, and swim shorts are acceptable at beach clubs. If you’re planning on participating in activities like at Ola Beach Club, make sure you wear snug-fitting and light clothes that won’t get weighed down when you get wet.

What to bring to a beach club in Singapore?

Sunscreen is a must to slather it on periodically to prevent sun burns. You might also want to bring a towel as a cover-up or to lay on the daybed.

What happens at beach clubs?

Beach clubs offer you the option to chill by the beach with options for food and drinks available. There’s usually also clubbing music like EDM, techno, and house being played to add to the atmosphere.

Late-night board game cafes in Singapore

Board game nights are a hot pick as a wholesome group activity, and once that competitive spirit kicks in, we can easily play till the rooster crows. For the owls who love to rack their noggins at night, here are late-night board game cafes in Singapore for nocturnal hangouts. They’re located from the CBD to the heartlands, so you can get plenty chatty and order refreshments to fuel your winning streak.

Do I need to make a reservation at these board game cafes?

cafe room

While most board game cafes in Singapore allow walk-ins, we’d recommend that you reserve a spot in advance on weekends to avoid a wasted trip. As for the games themselves, they operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Fortunately, most of these cafes have a very wide selection of board games, ranging from 60 to 600, so it’s very unlikely that you’ll find yourself out of options.

What kind of games are available?

Most places would typically offer classics like Jenga, Monopoly, and Clue amongst other popular party card games such as Exploding Kittens and UNO. However, some of these board game cafes even offer extras like console or arcade games.

How much does it cost to play at a board game cafe?

For pricing, it usually depends on whether you’ve booked a peak-hour or non-peak hour slot, but average prices start from $6.90/pax per hour.

Do these board gaming cafes offer food and drinks?

Most of these cafes do sell their own food and drinks, but since their focus is more on the games, you’ll mostly find simple bites like finger food or free-flow drinks and snacks. Don’t expect an atas cafe or restaurant menu –  it’s more game night fuel than gourmet cafe fare.

What are the best board game cafes in Singapore?

From places with free-flow snacks and drinks to mahjong gaming rooms, we’ve compiled a list of the best board game cafes in Singapore for your next hangout sesh.

Unique nightlife spots in SG

Every once in a while, we all need a break from our busy working schedules and simply enjoy a good drink. However, some of us might have grown tired of the same bars we frequent at Clarke Quay, or clubbing for the millionth time at Zouk. What you need might be a unique nightlife haunt to switch things up.

From riding a 70-foot Ferris wheel inside a 3-storey club to arcade pubs and a spaceship-themed club, here are the places that will give you an unforgettable night out.

1. MARQUEE & AVENUE Lounge

70ft Ferris wheel & in-house bowling alley & Marina Bay Sands

Late-night things to do in KL

There’s no doubt that Singaporeans love travelling to Kuala Lumpur (KL) for a getaway during long weekends and holidays.

Unlike JB, which is more convenient for us to visit, going to KL requires a fair bit of travelling. This means you should make full use of your time there, especially for those who drove for 5-6 hours or took a bus up to KL. While you’ve got your day plans covered, here are the best things to do in KL at night.

The current exchange rate is RM1 = ~S$0.29 as of 15th November 2024.

How to travel around KL at night

Renting a car is a great way to cover lots of ground if you want to maximise your time exploring KL after dark. Alternatively, if you don’t have a licence or know you’ll be hardcore partying, Grab is great for convenient point-to-point rides around the city.

For budget-friendly options, the Go KL City Bus provides free rides on various routes within the city, with some routes operating until midnight, though the bus schedule may vary.

1. Food Bazaar

Supper spot that opens till 2am

Food Bazaar has 3 outlets in KL, including its latest opening at TRX. While the food is good across all outlets, the one at TRX is where it’s at if you are hoping to feast and snap some IG-worthy pictures. It has an al fresco dining area that’s filled with neon lights and displays you can pose next to.

Within each outlet, they have tons of vendors that will leave you spoilt for choice. Stalls here offer local favourites like Ipoh Hor Fun (from RM11.50), as well as international cuisines such as Korean, Western, and Japanese just to name a few. Must-try dishes people have raved about on Google are their Satay (from RM10.90) and the Laksa Sarawak (RM12).
