Tee Side Chalet lies on the beachfront at Pasir Ris Park, offering some of the best spacious bungalow chalets in Singapore that can sleep up to 13 people from $280/night. You can choose between a Superior Bungalow and a Deluxe Bungalow unit – both are comfortable enough to house up to a whopping 30 people during the day.

And if you’d like more guests to stay the night beyond the 13-pax sleeping capacity, you can add up to 3 extra beds with a fee.

In either case, the houses have an airy communal living area and a kitchen equipped with basic cooking necessities on the ground floor.

Head to the upper floor of the Superior Bungalow and you’ll find 4 bedrooms with 3 shared bathrooms.

Only 2 of the bedrooms have a King bed, while the rest have 7 single beds in total, making this an ideal arrangement for families with tweens or even big groups of friends.

Of course, there are BBQ pits available with each chalet. And for those staying in the tents, you get a portable grill so you don’t have to miss out on the fun of a barbecue party. There is a playground within the chalet, but should the adults need some entertainment, there are fishing and prawning pools situated within the chalet grounds, an archery range, and sheltered pickleball courts.

Tee Side Chalet review: “Unit was huge. Enough to fit my extended family. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only downside was the location and the rooms. The nearest shop or supermarket was about a 5-minute drive out. The other thing was the bed. Can feel the springs when I lie down. Other than that, we had a great time.” – Juaidi Jaafar via Google Maps

If you’re looking to truly let loose for the weekend, consider booking an offshore stay at St. John’s Island Lodge. Like its name suggests, it’s located a mere 30-minute ferry ride from mainland Singapore, nestled in the bucolic retreat that is St. John’s Island.

After placing a few nautical miles between yourselves and your responsibilities, check into the Eagle Lodge (from $27.25/night), which is a bungalow chalet in Singapore that comfortably hosts up to 10 people. For those checking in with robust crowds, book the Turtle, Dolphin, and Otter lodges instead. The Turtle Lodge can accommodate up to 132 pax, while the Dolphin and Otter Lodges are great for around 50 to 60 pax. These even come with separate blocks for sleeping and dining, as well as a campfire-like BBQ pit for ghost stories to make their rounds about.

St. John’s Island Lodge is currently undergoing maintenance works, and is not available for booking.

Address: 14 St John’s Island, Singapore 098599

What’s the difference between a hotel & a chalet?

Compared to your usual hotel, chalets are better for larger groups and offer more privacy, as most are situated away from the city centre. On the other hand, hotels can typically offer a wider range of services such as spas, restaurants and bars, or breakfast buffets.

That said, some chalets are located within clubhouse complexes with amenities just a short walk away from your accommodations, so don’t worry about how you can keep your group entertained.

Best cheap chalets in Singapore for large groups

It’s not easy to plan your birthday celebration with a big friend group, or to find a space that can fit your extended family for holiday gatherings. Hopefully, with this list of the best chalets in Singapore, your concerns about space, activities, and amenities available will be straightened out.

All that you should worry about now is how to become the host of the year.

Relaxing resorts in Johor Bahru

Quick weekend getaways mean crossing the Causeway to JB. And that usually means hitting up the malls like Sunway Big Box, and maybe chowing down some Nasi Lemak. But if you just drive past the city buzz, a few relaxing resorts are awaiting your escape.  And the best part is, they’re just a quick 1.5-hour jaunt away.

We’ve gathered several resorts in Johor for those wanting to kick back and recharge in nature and a kampung-ish atmosphere.

The current exchange rate is RM1 = ~S$0.32 as of 20th May 2026.

What you need to know before visiting a resort in Johor

If you’re driving to JB, you’ll need the Vehicle Entry Permit and a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag on your windscreen or headlamp. Be sure to get your tag activated by a JPJ (Road Transport Department) officer, and remember to get a new one when needed, as the tags expire every 5 years.

Without both of these items, you can’t enter the country even if you say pretty please, and you’ll have to pay a RM300 (~S$96.52) compound fine, as well as register for the VEP before leaving Malaysia.

Remember to bring a Touch ‘n Go card so you can pay the RM20 (~S$6.45) toll fee upon entering. If you don’t have one, you can buy it at selected SPC, Shell, Sinopec, and Caltex stations. You can also buy a Touch ‘n Go card on Shopee.

These resorts have many fun-filled activities to enjoy, so we recommend that you stay at least 3 days to get the most out of it. Since these resorts are 1.5 hours away, you can use travel eSIMs to switch between network providers in a jiffy.

How to travel to Johor

Travelling to JB has never been easier, with public and private buses, trains, and cars available depending on your budget and needs.

No car, no problem. You won’t have to try your luck with those risky Singapore-JB private hires thanks to Grab’s latest Cross-Border Ride-Hail Service. Just book a car via the Grab app (App Store | Google Play) from wherever you are in Singapore, and you’ll be dropped off at your desired destination within Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri, Forest City, Kulai, and Senai. Alternatively, you can rent a car in JB to take care of your commuting needs during your trip.

As Grab fees can rack up pretty quickly, super-savers can take the trusty KTM Shuttle Tebrau – that’s if you’re quick enough to get a ticket before they sell out.

For last-minute day trips, there’s always the SMRT and SBS buses at Woodlands Interchange, or you could fork out a few extra dollars for the private Transtar Cross Border bus and save yourself from squeezing with the peak-hour crowds like sardines.

Sea Horizon Resort review: “View from the suite is super, with sunrise in the morning and stars at night. One downside is there’s no window, and it can get very hot inside, during the afternoon hours. There are lots of ants too, which we don’t mind very much, as they are part of nature.” – HM Tan via Google

Conquer hiking trails & melt away with massage sessions

Hiking enthusiasts looking for a base camp, consider booking a stay at Pulai Springs Resort. It’s located near Gunung Pulai, a recreational forest that stands 654m above sea level; for comparison, our humble Bukit Timah Hill is only 164m tall. But before you venture into the lush forest, take a moment to dip your toes into Pulai Springs Resort’s offerings.

From now till June 2026, stays at their Studio Suite for 2 pax start from RM298.09/night (U.P. RM496) thanks to their ongoing 40% discount, and breakfast is included too.

Don’t stay cooped up in your room for long though. You’ll want to pay a visit to the Pulai Spa, which prides itself on using traditional Balinese healing philosophies to soothe your aching muscles and knotted back.

When the sun’s out, go for a dip at any 1 of the resort’s 5 pools; they’ve even got a shallower pool that allows even the tiniest of tots to wade about. But if you can’t resist the beautiful hiking trails, Gunung Pulai is about a 50-minute drive away.

There are 2 trails to conquer at Gunung Pulai. The easier main road trail is about 5km long, while the 3.14km long jungle trail is the one experienced hikers will want to challenge, as it contains a section where you’ll have to hoist yourself up with a rope to traverse.

For your efforts, you’ll be rewarded with close-up views of the native flora and fauna, such as ferns and pitcher plants, as well as civet cats and tapirs. If you’re especially lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the rare Raffles Banded Langur.

The new hotel is scheduled to open sometime in 2026 and will feature 344 guest rooms as well as the DoubleTree by Hilton’s debut in Singapore. There will also be a major revamp of Hotel Miramar’s bones to provide guests with a modern hotel experience, including new rooms, meeting spaces, restaurants, ga ym, and a pool deck. Guests can also look forward to a new kids’ club and pickleball court when staying at the property.

Estimated opening date: 2026

The Laurus review: “The hotel was completely renovated recently by Marriott Bonvoy, and it shows in every detail. The rooms are new, beautifully designed, the bathrooms large, luxurious and a nice dressing area. Reserve a pool view as the pool area is exceptional. And just when you think it can’t get any better, each treehouse guest has access to a beautiful oval-shaped infinity sky pool.

Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree room amenities

As with any luxury resort, you can expect a range of facilities such as restaurants, a rooftop swimming pool, and a fully-equipped gym. Since the resort is all about blending in with nature, don’t be surprised if you spot the occasional monkey casually strolling by – a reminder of how the resort’s designed to fit into nature, not the other way around.

What not many luxury resorts can boast about, however, is being a stone’s throw away from 5 nature and wildlife parks, namely the Bird Paradise, Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari, and Rainforest Wild ASIA.

Nearest MRT: Khatib, Springleaf

Mandai Rainforest Resort review: “The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. We booked connecting rooms but there was no door stopper provided to keep the connecting door open, which required us to call for assistance.” – Shee Mun Ho via Google

Hotel by Habyt at Punggol Digital District

Punggol used to be that neighbourhood nobody really thought twice about – let alone wanted to live in. Fast forward to now, and things look very different: there are self-driving shuttles already cruising the area, and with the Punggol Regional Sports Centre set to open in 2026, it seems like this neighbourhood isn’t so ulu after all.

It’s even turning into a place you wouldn’t mind hanging out at or maybe staying over for a night or two. Case in point: a new hotel is coming to Punggol Digital District (PDD). Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming hotel.

What to expect at the hotel in Punggol Digital District?

224 rooms with a mix of loft & studio units

Studio & loft rooms at the new hotel in Punggol Digital District

The hotel at PDD will be run by Habyt – if the name rings a bell, it’s the same folks behind the co-living space of the same name at KADA Maxwell.

There’ll be 224 units in total, with a mix of loft and studio-style rooms designed for both short getaways and longer stays. As it’s located within Singapore’s “Silicon Valley”, the accommodation will mainly serve visiting researchers, partners, and investors – but hey, nothing’s stopping you from booking a staycay here for some R&R too.

Shared spaces & panoramic views

View from the hotel at Punggol Digital District

If you’re into greenery and IG-worthy views, you’ll be glad to know that the hotel overlooks the waterfront and offers sights of Coney Island, so you’re literally waking up to nature right at your doorstep.

Beyond the views, there’ll be shared spaces like a wellness hub with an infinity pool and a co-working cafe to look forward to. And for something a little unexpected, the “Wash & Play” basement will bring together a laundrette and a family-friendly hangout space, because doing your laundry here doesn’t have to feel like a chore.

What’s there to do around the Punggol Digital District hotel?

Shopping & dining options nearby

FairPrice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall

You’re probably wondering what there is to do on a staycay in a smart district like PDD, but don’t worry – you won’t be bored. For starters, the hotel sits right at Tower 98, the same spot as Punggol Coast FairPrice Finest. This isn’t your average supermarket – there are smart carts, wine sampling, and 2 levels of groceries and products to shop.

Punggol Coast Mall

A short walk away, there’s also Punggol Coast Mall, where you can easily spend a few hours hopping between shops and food spots. Options include Café&Meal MUJI, Sushi Tei, Jollibee, Hooga, Owndays, and Harvey Norman, plus plenty more to explore.

Nature escapes

Punggol Heritage Trail

Or take a quick 5-minute walk from Punggol Coast MRT Station to the Punggol Heritage Trail, where the first 400m stretch is already open to the public. It’s a nice detour if you feel like stretching your legs before heading back to the hotel – there are signboards along the way filled with fun facts about Punggol’s past, and an old-school bus stop replica to bring you down memory lane.

Strolling along Coney Island

To burn off even more calories, go on a 15-minute walk to Coney Island, where you can cycle, jog, or just soak in the greenery and coastal views.

When will the hotel at Punggol Digital District open?

The hotel is slated to open in the 1st half of 2027, so it’s not too far off. The building itself is already up – what’s left is the interior fit-out, which is set to kick off in May 2026.

Mark your calendars for the opening of the new hotel at Punggol Digital District

Who would have thought a staycay in Punggol would ever be a thing? Just a few years ago, the idea of checking into a hotel here probably sounded impossible. Let’s just hope that the prices stay reasonable, so we can all enjoy a break from our busy schedules without breaking the bank.

Tiny Away Escape at Lazarus Island

While most Singaporeans like our BTOs big, the rest of the world has been riding a “tiny home living” trend. Sounds familiar? Chances are, you’ve scrolled past videos titled “Smallest Loft In New York” or “Living In A Tiny Home On Wheels” on YouTube. Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island brought the trend to Singapore’s shores, offering an off-the-grid overnight experience on Lazarus Island.

A concept hotel of sorts, this project by Sentosa Development Corporation and local company Big Tiny featured rooms as small as 150sqft, which is less than half the size of a 2-room HDB. Less than 4 years after its May 2023 launch, the concept is winding down, with stays bookable up to 31st January 2027.

What is Tiny Away Escape@Lazarus Island?

In a city where land is scarce, it’s no surprise that going big is the dream. Tiny homes, on the contrary, proffer the concept that you don’t really need a lot of space to live happily. Tiny Away Escape@Lazarus Island features 5 units spanning between 150-175sqft in size, with everything you need for a cosy island getaway.

Every room here sports a unique theme, from colonial to industrial.

Within each unit, you can find a living space, a bed, and even a kitchenette. The walls are also fitted with large one-way mirrors that stretch from floor to ceiling, making the most of the island views.

The concept offers a taste of off-grid living, with cabins built to run sustainably on solar energy. Food waste is recycled through biodigesters to be turned into compost, toiletries are biodegradable, and sustainably sourced building materials are repurposed for future tiny houses.

When is Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island closing?

If a Lazarus Island getaway has been sitting on your bucket list, now’s the time to finally tick it off. Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island announced on 27th March 2026 that the last available bookings will be on 31st January 2027, as their fixed concession agreement with Sentosa Development Corporation draws to a close.

Big Tiny has also hinted that they’d be keen on returning to Singapore when a new opportunity arises. In the meantime, the team continues to run escapes across Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Europe and beyond.

What else can you do on Lazarus Island?

lazarus island - into the woods

For those still keen on an overnight stay on the island, Into The Woods offers beachfront glamping across 9 boutique tents, split across couple and family options. It’s pet-friendly, comes with sea views, and has a communal lodge stocked with books and board games for when you want to fully unplug.

lazarus island - sea sports centre

Active visitors would also enjoy the Lazarus Sea Sports Centre, with water activities from $20, such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and even sea cycling. Bicycle and kick scooter rentals are also available from the GoGreen @ Lazarus Island kiosk from $25 for 2 hours.

For something more low-key, the Glasshouse is an air-conditioned multi-purpose space right by the sea, available for events and wedding bookings too.

Catch Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island before it’s gone

While it’s certainly not for everyone, minimalists and beach lovers will probably agree that this concept on Lazarus Island has been pretty exciting. If you’re looking for one last rugged weekend getaway before it closes, make sure to get your bookings in before 31st Jan 2027.

Getting there: Take a short boat ride from Sentosa Jetty @Cove (from $20 for a round-trip) or read our guide to island hopping from Marina South Pier.

W Singapore – Sentosa Cove

If you’ve lived in Singapore long enough, you know that W Singapore – Sentosa Cove has always been that one cool cousin of the hotel world. It’s the place where you go when you want to feel like a high-flyer, even if you’re just there for a weekend staycay to escape the CBD madness. But let’s be real; even the coolest icons need a glow-up eventually.

After months of being under construction and mysterious hoarding, the curtain has finally been lifted. W Singapore has officially entered its new era with a massive revamp that covers everything from the rooms you sleep in to the spa where you sweat out your stress. We went down to see if the refresh lives up to the hype. Here is everything you need to know about the new and improved W Singapore.

The new vibe is tropical sanctuary meets city chic

The first thing you’ll notice is that the hotel doesn’t have its loud neon colours anymore.

W Singapore - W Lobby
W Lobby that overlooks the pool.

Instead, they’ve gone for a theme they call a “Tropical Microcosm.” In plain English, it means they’ve taken the best parts of Singapore – the sleek, straight lines of our skyscrapers and the wild, messy greenery of Sentosa – and mashed them together.

W Singapore - W Lounge
W Lounge has a cafe that serves Tanamera Coffee and bakes.

Expect lots of deep blues inspired by the marina right outside, warm wood panels, and carpets so plush you’ll be tempted to walk around barefoot. It feels grounded but a little bit surreal, like you’ve stepped into a very expensive, very well-designed dream.

The rooms come with bigger beds & sunset orange sofas

Let’s talk about the most important part of any staycation: the room. If you’re the type who likes to sprawl out like a starfish in bed, you’re in luck.

W Singapore - Premiere deluxe room
Premiere Deluxe room with king bed and pool view.

The new rooms feature Super King or Double Queen beds. These are notably larger than your standard hotel beds, so you won’t have to worry about your partner kicking you in their sleep.

W Singapore - Deluxe room
Deluxe room with king bed and a sliding door that peeks into the bathroom.

The standout feature, however, is the new vibrant coral-orange sofa fitted into every room. It’s specifically coloured to match the glow of a Sentosa sunset. Aside from being a prime spot next to the natural light spilling in from the balcony for your “I woke up like this” IG photos, it actually doubles as an extra bed. So, if you’re planning a girls’ night in or a family stay, nobody has to squeeze.

What else is new? 65-inch TVs, perfect for a Netflix marathon when you’re too lazy to head to the pool, and Nespresso machines because we all need that caffeine hit before facing the world.

W Singapore - bathroom

Even the bathrooms have got a major upgrade, now featuring rainforest showers, high-end MOMO amenities, and bathtubs that are actually deep enough to soak in.

Bathroom amenities

Go full in with your pampering staycay by donning their luxurious bathrobes and adding complimentary salts to your bath.

Room categories & damage to your bank account

Rates usually start from around $480 per night for an entry-level room, but here’s a quick breakdown of the revamped categories:

Room category Rates Size Notable features
Deluxe Room From $480/night 430sqft-452sqft; fits up to 3 pax Lush greenery views of the island, great for privacy
Premiere Room From $550/night 430sqft; fits up to 3 pax Private balcony overlooking the yachts
Premiere Deluxe Room From $570/night 430sqft; fits up to 3 pax Balcony looking over the iconic WET Deck
Away Room From $680/night 398sqft-495sqft; fits up to 3 pax Comes with your own private plunge pool
W Suite From $960/night 861sqft; fits up to 4 pax Massive living area and bathroom; plus top-tier marina views

All rooms have a choice of either 1 Super King bed or 2 Queen beds.

W Singapore - W Suite
W Suites have separate bedrooms and living rooms.

The W Suite is indulgent at its max, but if you are indeed feeling indulgent, it’s well worth your money. You’ve got a private balcony overlooking the marina all to yourself and a massive bathroom half the size of most HDB flats in Singapore.

For the extra lavish lifestyle,  you’ve also got the choice to stay in their ultra premium suites – Penthouse, Supreme Suite, Escape Suite. And AWAY Suite – all of which come with their own private pools.

The 24/7 pool & slide will be the highlights of your staycay

Speaking of pools, The WET Deck is arguably the most famous pool in Singapore, and for good reason. It’s one of the few hotel pools in the country that is open 24/7. Want to go for a midnight swim under the stars? Yup, you can!

W Singapore - The WET Deck

The pool area is massive at over 1,200sqm, and features underwater speakers, so you can literally hear the music while you’re doing your laps.

Water slide

For the families with young ones or the “big kids”, there’s a water slide tucked away that adds a bit of old-school fun to the luxury setting. Yes, adults we’re looking at you; you’re encouraged to go on it multiple times too.

Aerial pool view

Pro tip: If you’re there on a weekend afternoon, the Sunset Sessions from 3pm to 6pm feature live DJs, turning the pool into a full-blown beach club vibe.

Sunday Brunch with a seafood wall & boozy free-flow

You cannot talk about W Singapore without mentioning the food. Their Sunday Brunch, happening every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm at the kitchen table, is legendary.

Seafood spread

We’re talking about an extravagant seafood spread stacked with fresh oysters, lobsters, crabs and prawns that’ll make any seafood lover weak in the knees.

Dessert spread

Aside from the seafood, there are live stations for classic roasts, local favourites with a fancy twist, and a dessert table that usually includes a chocolate fountain.

The Perks: Brunch goers get complimentary pool access from 3pm to 7pm. So, you can eat your weight in lobster and then go digest it on a pool float even if you aren’t a staying guest at the hotel.

Cocktail station & seafood paella
DIY Bloody Mary cocktail station and freshly made seafood paella.

It usually goes from $128++/adult for the non-alcoholic version, or $198++/adult if you want to go all out with free-flow Moët & Chandon Champagne. Kids from 7-12 years old dine at 50% off, 4-6 years old at $40++, while 3 and under dine for free.

Ice baths, infrared saunas & massages at AWAY Spa

If your idea of a holiday is doing absolutely nothing, the AWAY Spa is where you want to be. It has been given a major facelift, designed to look like a rainforest sanctuary.

W Singapore - AWAY Spa

The coolest new addition literally is the ice baths. If you’ve seen athletes jumping into tubs of ice on TikTok for recovery, this is your chance to try it while on staycation. If you prefer the heat, the infrared sauna is much more comfortable than a traditional steam room, as it warms your body directly rather than just making the air hot and stuffy.

Hotel guests have complimentary access to all these wellness facilities, while outsiders can purchase a day pass for $55.

AWAY Spa facility

Of course, you’ve also got the option of booking one of their services, like a 45-minute Body Treatment Glow ($95), 90-minute Detox Facial ($255), or 60-minute Reset Massage ($185). There are also spa packages from $335 where you can combine body scrubs, wraps or facials with massages.

Full list of AWAY Spa treatments

After Dark: A new party series featuring international DJs

For the night owls, the hotel has launched After Dark at WOOBAR. This isn’t your typical hotel bar music. It’s a dedicated recurring music series bringing in international talent. The first big one happened on 7th February 2026, headlined by DJ XI.

W Singapore - After Dark
Image adapted from: @wsingapore via Instagram

The vibe at WOOBAR during these events is meant to feel a bit more underground and edgy. If you’re tired of heading to the same 3 clubs in the city, this is a solid alternative with the added bonus of being able to stumble upstairs to your bed once the lights come on.

Keep a lookout for the next party in April on their socials at @wsingapore.

Enjoy free experiences like DJ classes & quick massages

We Singaporeans love a good lobang, and the new W Singapore has plenty of them. They’ve introduced a curated program of activities that are actually fun, and many are completely free for guests.

Yoga class
Complimentary sunrise yoga for hotel guests.

Depending on which day you stay, you could find yourself in an invigorating workout session or getting a 10-minute express shoulder massage by the pool. Our favourite? The DJ Masterclass. You can actually learn how to spin decks with the hotel’s resident DJ. It’s way more interesting than your standard hotel gym session.

Going green

Usually, when hotels talk about “sustainability,” it feels like a lecture. At W Singapore, they’ve made it quite seamless.

W Singapore - sustainability
Image adapted from: W Singapore

You won’t find those tiny plastic water bottles anymore. Instead, they’ve installed in-room water filtration taps. It’s basically high-quality chilled water on demand – no plastic waste, no waiting for housekeeping to bring more bottles.

With over 680 solar panels on the roof, they’re generating enough clean energy to power a small village. Even your breakfast is eco-friendly; the hotel is Farm-to-Table certified, meaning a lot of what you’re eating is grown locally, reducing the carbon footprint of your breakfast.

Is a staycation at W Singapore worth the trip to Sentosa?

W Singapore - Aerial view

W Singapore – Sentosa Cove has managed to do something difficult: they’ve upgraded the luxury while still keeping the fun elements. It still feels like a playground for adults and kids alike, but one that’s a bit more thoughtful, a lot more sustainable, and definitely more comfortable.

Whether you’re looking to learn how to DJ, face an ice bath at the AWAY Spa, or just want to rot in a Super King bed after a massive seafood buffet, the revamp has a bit of everything. It’s pampering, but liberated, meaning you can show up in your slippers or your Sunday best, and you’ll fit right in.

At 1.2m deep, it has enough room for you to swim to your heart’s content, and even has a drying area to sit and relax after a rigorous workout. After taking laps in the pool, make a dive for the jacuzzi jet streams to relieve any sore muscles.

At the Relaxation Pool, you really can daydream that you’re having a vacay – especially with the resort atmosphere. There are even chairs to sink into while still being able to dip your toes in the water.

The kiddos aren’t left out, either. The Kids Pool is fairly large with chairs surrounding it, so parents can look out for the little ones while they play. That said, the pool is only 0.5m deep so beginners are free to swim to their heart’s content.

8. Village Hotel Sentosa

Turkish-inspired cascading pool

There’s a certain utopian aesthetic to the pool deck at Village Hotel Sentosa. In fact, it was inspired by the cascading pools in Turkey – so you get the feeling of a getaway without leaving the country. This sprawling hotel swimming pool in Singapore also comes with the best view of the sea for that extra tropical feel.

They even have a lazy river for you to lepak in as you slowly meander down its winding bends – yes, reminiscent of the Shiok River at Wild Wild Wet. Lined with foliage, it almost feels like you’re actually in a jungle. The rain curtains definitely complete the package and help you cool off if you’ve spent an entire day in the sun.

The St. Regis Singapore review

When it comes to atas hotels in Singapore, The St. Regis Singapore is a 5-star hotel that’s long been the poster child for luxury stays. And almost 2 decades since its official opening in 2008, it’s finally getting a well-deserved glow-up – with a multi-phase revamp currently underway.

We checked into one of the newly refurbished rooms to see what had changed, and took the chance to experience the facilities and service that come with a stay here. So, is it worth the splurge? Here’s our review of The St. Regis Singapore hotel.

Where is The St. Regis Singapore located?

You’ll find the St. Regis Singapore located along Tanglin Road – it’s just a 4-minute drive to Singapore Botanic Gardens, and an 11-minute walk to ION Orchard.

The hotel is close enough to the Orchard buzz for all your dining, shopping, and entertainment needs, but far enough to enjoy a bit of calm after a day of exploring.

Pro tip: don’t confuse it with St. Regis Residences next door – both buildings look nearly identical. To make sure you’re at the right spot, keep an eye out for the sculpture of a Buddha riding a dragon at the hotel entrance.

What’s The St. Regis Singapore known for & what’s new?

The hotel is best known for its 24-hour butler service, curated art collection that almost makes it feel like a museum, and a range of dining options from afternoon high tea to a fine-dining Cantonese restaurant that’s gained quite a reputation.

It’s also worth mentioning that every room in the hotel comes with a bathtub for you to soak the day’s aches away.

Now for the new stuff: alongside the revamped rooms, guests can also check out refreshed spaces like The Tea Room and the newly renovated John Jacob Ballroom, all part of the hotel’s ongoing facelift.

What’s included in The St. Regis Singapore stay?

Hotel rooms that pay homage to the Singapore Botanic Gardens

We stayed in the 1 King Bed Penthouse Room on the 20th floor – the highest level of the hotel. Prices for this room start from $612/night* on weekdays, with breakfast included for 2 adults and kids under 12. Just note that rates can vary depending on demand and your selected dates.

*Price is accurate at the time of writing.

The St. Regis Singapore hotel lobby
The St. Regis Singapore hotel lobby.

We checked in at 3pm and saw bellboys wheeling luggage through the grand lobby, but since we were travelling light, the front desk staff swiftly handed us our key cards and directed us to the lifts. Access to the hotel rooms on Levels 3 to 20 is only possible by scanning your room card – an extra layer of security we appreciated.

1 King Bed Penthouse Room

The moment we stepped into the room, soft music was already playing on the TV. But what really caught our eye were the refreshed interiors. The carpeted flooring has been swapped out for wood flooring in a herringbone pattern, giving the room warm, homely vibes.

We’ve been told that the new interiors are inspired by the nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens – spot botanical details like the blue floral carpet beneath the bed, and a feature wall with delicate floral motifs. The once-red-and-gold curtains have also been replaced with muted tones that feel a little more modern, and a little less old-world royal.

Touch screen switches

You won’t be pulling any curtains here – instead, the room comes with day and night blinds that open and close automatically at the touch of a button.

As for the view, it wasn’t much to shout about as it was mostly blocked by neighbouring buildings and condos. But if waking up to lush greenery is more your thing, you can always opt for a room with a botanical view instead.

Macarons and fruits

To welcome us, the hotel left a plate of fresh fruits and macarons stamped with the St. Regis logo – a small but luxe gesture that made us feel pampered from the get-go.

We were also able to cast music from Spotify and stream Netflix shows by connecting our phone to the TV via Wi-Fi.

Bathroom

While the room has gotten a glow-up, those who love the old-school charm of The St. Regis Singapore will be glad to know that the bathroom still retains its regal aesthetic. We really liked the double sinks so we didn’t have to fight each other for space, the separate shower and toilet area, and the massive bathtub in the centre.

Toiletries

We didn’t pack any toiletries other than skincare and makeup – thankfully, the bathroom came stocked with goodies from REN Clean Skincare and SACHAJUAN. Bath salts were provided too, so a relaxing soak was defo on the cards.

Water dispenser

On the eco front, the hotel has introduced sustainability features like motion-activated LED lights and a built-in water dispenser. Having potable water on tap was a huge plus, especially since it meant fewer calls to the concierge for bottled water refills. Heads up: only hot and room-temperature water is available.

The minibar was well-stocked with snacks, soft drinks, and alcohol, though we were a little bummed that these weren’t complimentary. For a hotel of this calibre, we lowkey expected at least the snacks or sodas to be free.

TV

Other thoughtful features include mirrors at the entryway for those essential OOTD checks. And while it might seem minor, we were relieved that there weren’t any mirrors facing the bed, ‘cause we’re pantang, IYKYK.

Our butler even gave us a call to remind us about our scheduled art tour. The St. Regis Singapore prides itself on its butler service, which includes everything from unpacking and packing your luggage to arranging a morning wake-up call, serving welcome beverages, and pressing garments. While we didn’t make many requests during our short stay, it still felt nice knowing the service was just a call away.

Buffet breakfast with a wide variety of cuisines to choose from

The Astor Grill

No staycay is complete without a proper breakfast spread, and The St. Regis Singapore delivers on that front with its daily breakfast buffet at The Astor Grill, served from 6.30am to 10.30am. The restaurant recently reopened on 27th June 2025. If you’ve booked the package that comes with breakfast, you’re in for a treat.

Cold cuts & cheeses

Pro tip: The best time to head down is between 6.30am and 8am – that’s when it’s nice and quiet, and you’ll have the buffet area pretty much to yourself. You’ll be able to do a full survey of the spread and pick your favourites without the pressure.

Once seated, we were handed a menu of made-to-order breakfast dishes, which was a lovely surprise. This included eggs done in different ways, French toast, hot oatmeal, and even vegan-friendly picks.

Epicurean omelette & avocado toast

We went for the Epicurean Omelette, which came with tiger prawns, lobster bisque sauce, avruga pearls (a caviar substitute), and a sprinkle of chives. We also added on a side of avocado toast. Both were delish, and honestly, worth saving some stomach space for.

DIY noodle bar

But St. Regis Singapore’s buffet spread was where things got exciting. There was a noodle station where we could DIY our bowl with our choice of ingredients, a selection of cold cuts and cheese, and a lineup of pastries, including croissants and muffins. Not to mention the pancake and waffle station that was calling out to our inner child.

Pastries

Other highlights included a salad bar, cereal station, and a fruit juice corner where we could customise our freshly squeezed options.

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, and if you ask us, we wouldn’t mind setting our alarms for this, even on a staycay.

Over 70 artworks by local & international artists

Butler-led art tour

The St. Regis Singapore is also home to a curated art collection featuring over 70 pieces by both local and international artists. You’ll spot them everywhere, from the lobby to the hallways, and even right outside the hotel.

Pro tip: let the front desk know if you’d like to join the complimentary butler-led art tour when you check in. It’s an experience that’ll make your stay feel extra special and artsy.

We met our butler in the lobby, who brought us straight to the entrance, where several sculptures are on display. TBH, we had walked right past them earlier without giving them much thought, but the tour gave us a reason to appreciate the details.

Reclining Woman sculpture by Fernando Botero
Image credit: The St. Regis Singapore via Facebook

One standout artwork you can’t miss is the Reclining Woman sculpture by Fernando Botero, perched right outside the hotel. Our butler shared that this piece was commissioned by the hotel to symbolise the sense of relaxation that guests are meant to feel during their stay, just like the lounging lady.

Lotus Pond Series by Chua Ek Kay

Inside the hotel, you’ll find the walls adorned with a variety of artworks at almost every turn. One of our favourites was the Lotus Pond Series by Chua Ek Kay. Made up of strokes depicting lotus stems, buds, and leaves, the piece is a reminder to slow down – something we all need on a luxe staycay like this.

Titanic crystal chandelier

Don’t forget to look up, literally, during the art tour. Above the spiral staircase leading to the ballroom hangs a crystal chandelier designed to resemble a ship. This detail pays tribute to John Jacob Astor, the founder of The St. Regis New York, who lost his life in the sinking of the Titanic.

Iconic champagne sabrage

Champagne glasses

Right after the butler-led art tour, we got to witness the iconic champagne sabrage – a signature ritual across St. Regis hotels worldwide, where a bottle of bubbly is dramatically sliced open with a sabre. It’s as extra as it sounds, but we were all for it.

Champagne sabrage

Fun fact: the champagne needs to be properly prepped for the big moment. It’s chilled for 24 hours below 10°C, then flipped upside down about 20 minutes before opening – the colder the bottle, the cleaner the break.

Free champagne

At The St. Regis Singapore, this happens daily at 6.30pm in the lobby, and is a complimentary experience for all hotel guests. Within a couple of minutes, we were sipping on a glass of crisp champagne to toast the evening ahead. It was a memorable detail that shows the hotel’s commitment to keeping its traditions alive.

Facilities like a fully-equipped gym & outdoor pool

24-hour gym
Image credit: The St. Regis Singapore

If you want to squeeze in a workout even while on holiday, you’ll be glad to know that The St. Regis Singapore has a 24-hour fitness centre that’s fully equipped and free for all hotel guests to use. Equipment includes treadmills, exercise bikes, weight machines, and stair climbers.

Outdoor pool

There’s also an outdoor pool, open from 7am to 9pm, with complimentary towels and plenty of comfy loungers for guests. We’ll be honest – the pool isn’t particularly wow – there’s no sweeping skyline or garden view to speak of, but it’s still wide enough for proper laps if you’re in the mood for a good swim. Or you could just chill by the water with a book and soak up the vibes.

What else is there to do at The St. Regis Singapore?

Afternoon tea with free-flow scones

You may want to add on certain experiences that’ll make your stay even more luxurious at The St. Regis Singapore, like indulging in a high tea sesh.

The Tea Room

The Tea Room is where you’ll get to experience the afternoon tea ritual – a tradition that dates back to the 19th century, first introduced by Mrs. Caroline Astor at The St. Regis New York. Today, it lives on in St. Regis hotels around the world, including right here in Singapore.

Sparkling tea & tableside tea brewing

We tried the new Summer Garden Afternoon Tea ($65/pax), which kicks off with a glass of Copenhagen Sparkling Tea and our choice of coffee or tea, brewed tableside by a tea sommelier. We got to sniff our way through the tea selection before picking 1 – a new experience that felt both fun and fancy.

There was even a live harpist serenading the room while we munched, which made the whole experience feel like something out of Bridgerton.

Savoury canapes & desserts

As for the food, a standout for us was the Foie Gras Terrine Shortbread with Raspberry Caviar – it was creamy, not overly strong, and balanced. On the sweet side, the Tropical Garden Tartlet stole the show. The mix of tropical fruit compote and vanilla cream on an almond sable was the right mix of tart, smooth, and crunchy.

Free-flow scones

Alongside the savoury canapés and sweet treats, we were also treated to free-flow scones served with 4 types of jam, plus clotted cream and passionfruit “caviar” – something like popping boba.

Some of the other savouries didn’t quite hit the mark for our taste buds, but if you’re here for the vibes, atmosphere, and novelty of tableside tea and unlimited scones, it’s still worth a visit.

In-house spa at St. Regis Singapore for head-to-toe pampering

Indoor jacuzzi
Image credit: The St. Regis Singapore

The St. Regis Spa has some pretty solid facilities, like indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, cedarwood Finnish saunas, and eucalyptus steam chambers. These are free for hotel guests to use, but swimsuits are required to enter, and sadly, we didn’t pack any. So we gave this one a pass and settled for enviously peeking through the spa entrance like sad little gremlins.

The St. Regis SpaImage credit: The St. Regis Singapore

If you’re feeling bougie, you can also treat yourself to spa treatments like the Aroma Journey massage ($350), Supreme Pedicure with Foot Massage ($185), or the Age Defying Cocoon body treatment ($285).

We didn’t try any of them – not because they didn’t sound amazing, but because our bank accounts politely said, “Maybe next time.”

Dim sum brunch buffet at a fine-dining Cantonese restaurant

Yan Ting
Image credit: Yan Ting via Google Maps

Because we stayed at The St. Regis Singapore over the weekend, we were able to try the Dim Sum Brunch (from $168/pax) at Yan Ting, the hotel’s fine-dining Cantonese restaurant. The space has recently been refreshed, and it’s now even more zhng-ed up.

The buffet is only available on weekends and public holidays, and you can order as much as you want, from anything on the menu. Just remember not to over-order – the “don’t waste food” rule still applies, even in bougie surroundings.

Dim sum brunch buffet
Some premium items are limited to 1 serving per person, like the Double-boiled Abalone Consomme, Sea Whelk soup, Deep-fried Lobster with Egg Floss, Crystal Shrimp Dumplings with Caviar, and Mini Egg Tart with Bird’s Nest.

Dim sum brunch buffet unlimited itemsDon’t miss the Crispy Roasted Pork Belly and Pan-fried Scallop with Truffle Sauce.

We’ll be real – the 1-serving dishes weren’t our top picks. Our favourites were the free-flow staples like the Mushroom Dumplings with Truffle, Fried ‘Pik Fong Tong’ Radish Cake served with a glorious bed of fried garlic, and the Steamed Sea Perch Fillet with Fungus and Garlic.

New St. Regis Bar

The St. Regis Bar
Image credit: The St. Regis Singapore

And if you needed another reason to revisit The St. Regis Singapore, here’s one for your list: a brand-new St. Regis Bar. We didn’t get to check it out ourselves as it was still under renovation during our stay, but a little birdie tells us it’s officially open.

The star of the space is a birdcage-inspired back bar crafted from aged brass, forming a grid of display boxes that show off a selection of spirits. Seating in the bar is also arranged for comfort and chinwagging

Evenings here get an upgrade with the Time After Time cocktail menu, which blends American drinking trends with local flavours and cultural nods. You’ll find the Merlion Sling ($28), a comforting classic with a local twist, and the Eternal Tropicalia ($28), which packs a strong, lively punch, on the menu.

Upcoming experiences at The St. Regis Singapore

299 newly revamped rooms & suites to choose from

Lounging in the hotel room

Here’s something to look forward to – all 299 rooms and suites at The St. Regis Singapore are set to be fully revamped by Q4 2025.

For now, you can already book one of the refreshed rooms, including the Astor Room, Astor Grand, Deluxe King, Astor Grand Deluxe Double, and Penthouse King. While you’re at it, take advantage of the Exquisite Stays Redefined package. It includes the signature butler service, daily buffet breakfast, and a complimentary Aperitivo Hour for 2, where you’ll get to sip and unwind before dinner.

The package is available for stays from now till 31st March 2026, so you’ve got plenty of time to plan that well-deserved escape.

Is it worth booking a stay at The St. Regis Singapore?

Hotel room
Even the cushions have been thoughtfully chosen to feature botanical motifs.

The St. Regis Singapore certainly lives up to its reputation. Service was top-notch – we were greeted with warm smiles, attentive staff, and little touches that made our stay feel extra special, like the desserts left in our room and butler-led art tour. The breakfast buffet that’s included in the stay had some really solid options too.

As for the other dining add-ons like afternoon tea and the dim sum brunch, there were a few standout dishes that we really enjoyed. But some of the fancier options didn’t quite wow us for the price.

Which brings us to the price tag – this is definitely not your casual weekend staycay. Unless you’re swimming in disposable income, we’d recommend saving this one for a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday treat. That way, you’ll be more likely to appreciate the pampering and luxurious touches without the pressure of justifying every cent.

You’ll spot Kitsch Hotel Bangkok from a mile away. Its dollhouse-like facade is impossible to miss. The entrance looks straight out of a storybook, with pastel pink “curtains”, bronze signage, and hand-painted topiary trees flanking the doorway.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a massive, wide-eyed cat sculpture that practically demands a photo. With its black-and-white tiled floors and candy-hued decor, the lobby feels part Parisian patisserie, part fantasyland. Trust us, the lobby sets the tone perfectly for the whimsical stay that awaits upstairs.

23 hotel rooms, each with a different theme

When Kitsch Hotel Bangkok says no two rooms are the same, they mean it. The boutique stay features 23 rooms decked out in 19 movie-inspired themes, each one more whimsical than the last. Even the check-in process is on brand – you’ll get a pink, cat-shaped room card with your room number on it, setting the tone for the stay before you’ve even unlocked the door.

One standout is the Pink Pavilion, a fairytale blush escape where everything – from the curtains to the bathtub – is drenched in pastel pink. Styled like an ‘80s dream house, it feels like you’ve just stepped into Barbie’s home. And if you decide not to leave your room the whole day, honestly, we wouldn’t blame you.

Kitsch Hotel Bangkok - Teddy Bear Room

Then there’s the Teddy Room, which might just be the hotel’s most iconic space. Home to a gigantic teddy bear that takes up half the room, it’s become a viral hit. Heck, even Thai musician Waruntorn P. filmed her music video here. The checkered armchairs, forest-themed wallpaper, and vintage lighting make it feel like a storybook cabin.

Other themed rooms include the Virgin Dream, soft and whimsical with cloud-like touches; the Kitsch Room, where retro sweetness meets the American Dream with pastel walls and cherry-shortcake vibes; and Forbidden Apple, a moody fairytale hideaway filled with red accents and glossy apples – straight out of a Charlie XCX music video.

Aesthetic dorms for solo travellers

Travelling solo doesn’t mean missing out on the fun. At Kitsch Hotel Bangkok, even the dorms are a vibe. Designed for those who love meeting new people without sacrificing style, these themed rooms are anything but basic.

You’ll find dorms like the Glam Squad Chamber, Epic Clubhouse, and All-Star Quarter, each with its own personality – from vintage boarding school aesthetics to varsity-style hangouts. The Epic Clubhouse, for instance, is inspired by classic English private school dorms. It comes with 4 single beds, vintage décor, and that cosy, nostalgic atmosphere you’d expect from a coming-of-age movie.

With just 4 beds per room, it never feels too crowded. It’s ideal for travellers who want both company and comfort. Rates start from THB 3,560 (~S$141.90) a night, making it a chic yet social pick for solo explorers.

Where is Kitsch Hotel Bangkok located?

Kitsch Hotel Bangkok sits in Ratchathewi, putting you right in the heart of the city’s shopping and nightlife scene. It’s about a 15-minute drive, or a 20-minute walk, to hotspots like Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam Night Market, and Palladium Night Market. Getting there’s easy too, with Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) just a 40-minute drive away.

Check into Kitsch Hotel the next time you’re in Bangkok

The next time you’re headed for a Bangkok weekend getaway, you know where to stay. With 23 rooms across 19 movie-inspired themes, no stay here is ever the same. So, you can come back again and again for a totally new experience each time. It’s fun, quirky, and unapologetically over the top – just like Bangkok itself.

Hotels with bathtubs in Singapore

Thanks to the monsoon season, we have been blessed with the soft pitter-patter of raindrops on our windows, as well as chilly temperatures which are perfect for snuggling up to binge-watch shows. Or, for you and your loved one to share a relaxing dip in a hot bath. While most HDBs don’t come with one, there are plenty of hotels with large bathtubs in Singapore, so you can finally use your bath bombs or frolic in a bubble bath.

Rates shown are estimates before tax, service charges and discounts, accurate at the time of writing and may be subject to change.

What’s the best way to draw a bath?

Before even running the water, you’ll want to prepare everything else you need. That includes any books, smart devices, drinks, and snacks you want to consume. Place them on a bathtub tray for easy access, or grab a stool or side table so they stay within reach. You’ll also want all your body cleansing soaps, bathrobe, and towel nearby so you don’t have to get up from soaking to get anything.

As for the water, start off with hot water and fill the tub up ⅓-½ of the way. Now’s a good time to throw in bath bombs or bath foams to get them sudsy. If you have bath salts, keep them in a mesh or muslin bag before tossing them into the water. This way, you’re not laying on top of rough salt crystals.

Fill the rest of the tub with cold water – it should be hot enough that it’s not scalding you when you get in. But you don’t want it too cold either, otherwise it won’t be comfortable to soak in.

It’s also a good idea to do a quick rinse in the shower beforehand so you’re not sitting in your own filth the whole time you’re in the bathtub.
