Premier League + streaming service

Footie fans, you’ll soon have another option when it comes to catching your favourite teams take to the pitch. If you haven’t heard, Premier League + is a new football streaming service that’s soon to hit Singapore’s shores once the 26/27 season begins. Here’s all you need to know about it, from prices to what kind of matchday coverage you can expect.

What is Premier League + ?

Premier League footballImage credit: Premier League

Premier League + is a new streaming platform released by none other than the Premier League. Being the official streaming service provided by the league themselves, you won’t have to deal with third-party broadcasters or telco companies to watch Premier League matches when kick-off commences.

LiverpoolImage credit: Premier League

Launched in collaboration with StarHub, subscribers will get to live stream all 380 Premier League matches each season, as well as enjoy coverage of other competitions such as the FA Cup and the Community Shield. What’s more, fans will be able to toggle between multi-camera viewing options and personalised team hubs for a touch of customisation.

Even when games are not being played, users can tune in to a 24/7 channel run by Premier League Studios, which will air match highlights and full match replays. You’ll be able to tap into Premier League + ‘s offerings via an app for smart TVs, mobile devices, and laptops, which makes catching games fuss-free even when you’re on the go.

How much will a Premier League + subscription cost?

Manchester UnitedImage credit: Getty Images

A Premier League + subscription will start from just $16 for a 24-hour pass, which will give users, well, 24 hours to enjoy live and on-demand Premier League content, and it’ll be available only for mobile devices and laptops.

A monthly pass will cost $44, while an annual pass will set you back $399. We’ve done the math for you; that’s $129 in savings if you were to opt for the latter. For reference, currently, StarHub’s monthly subscription to catch only Premier League matches costs $40.74/month.

Consider signing up for Premier League + next season

If you’re an avid football fan, you’ll know how frustrating it is to rely on shady – and very much illegal – streaming websites to get your fix of Premier League action. As such, consider signing up for a Premier League + subscription next season to watch your favourite teams week in and week out.

Muay Thai gyms in Singapore

Singapore’s grind culture means that having a decent workout schedule on top of our regular 9-5 full-time job is tough. Plus, hitting a 24-hour gym can be monotonous when it’s just the same moves with more reps or heavier weights. This is where Muay Thai, a fighting sport that is accessible to everyone, comes in clutch for us.

It’s beginner-friendly because learning the sport begins not with technique, but with conditioning. So, if you’re ready to achieve your fitness goals, here are some Muay Thai gyms in Singapore to check out. We’ve categorised them into regions – find a gym that’s near your home or office so you never have an excuse to postpone your next workout sesh.

What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai is a martial art from Thailand that doesn’t just rely on 1 body part but everything – from elbows to knees and your fists and feet. Affectionately called “The Art of 8 Limbs,” Muay Thai may seem complicated but is actually a good beginner sport because it develops a person holistically to become a well-rounded fighter.

But like any other sport, Muay Thai can be physically demanding too, as there is a need to build muscle and condition your body to adapt to the fighting style.

What do I need to bring for Muay Thai classes?

You won’t need equipment like rackets or balls, but Muay Thai fighters do use protection like hand wraps and gloves. Most gyms provide and sell these on-site, so there’s no need to worry too much for your first day of class. Beyond that, just bring enthusiasm and a positive, learning attitude to the classes.

Will I need prior martial arts experience to take Muay Thai classes?

For the intermediate and advanced classes, yes. For novices, don’t fret. Sign up for a beginner’s class and the trainers will teach you important techniques, skills, and exercises. Additionally, a high level of fitness is not a requirement because these classes focus on conditioning, which means building on your muscle strength and stamina.

As with every other form of exercise, results won’t happen overnight. Learning Muay Thai can result in weight loss and increased fitness, but the real achievement will be learning a fun, new sport and being the strongest version of yourself.

Who can take Muay Thai classes?

Anyone – from beginners to advanced Muay Thai athletes. Some of the gyms on this list even offer classes for kids so they can start building the foundation from young.

Punggol Regional Sports Centre

We recently wrote about the Punggol Digital District, a sustainable tech business park that’s slated to be fully operational by this year. Not too far away, and also poised to be completed by the end of 2026, is the upcoming Punggol Regional Sports Centre that’s set to be a landmark sporting facility.

Initially scheduled for completion in 2023, this upcoming sports centre is a part of Singapore’s Sports Facilities Master Plan, which was a key initiative of Vision 2030 – our national sports blueprint that seeks to foster a healthier, more inclusive society through sports while developing high-performance athletes.

Where is the Punggol RSC located, and what can we look forward to when it’s completed? Here are all your burning questions, answered.

Where is the upcoming Punggol RSC located?

You may have heard of One Punggol, the integrated lifestyle hub housing a hawker centre, community centre, as well as a host of facilities for Punggol residents, which opened in October 2022.

By this year, the area behind One Punggol will see the completion of the new Punggol Regional Sports Centre, built on a 30-hectare plot of land that’s bordered by Punggol Drive, Sentul Crescent, as well as the Punggol Waterway.

How to get to Punggol Regional Sports Centre?

While it’s not at Punggol MRT/LRT Station, you can take a 10-minute walk there via a covered walkway, or hop on the LRT from Punggol MRT/LRT Station. It’s one stop to Sam Kee LRT Station, then a 4-minute walk.

What can we expect when the sports hub opens?

5,000 seater soccer stadium

As the name suggests, the Punggol Regional Sports Centre is intended to be a sporting facility that serves the North-East region of Singapore. It can’t compare, of course, to the scale of The Kallang, previously known as Singapore Sports Hub, with its 55,000 seats, but the Punggol RSC ain’t shabby either – it is set to have a 5,000-seater soccer stadium.

There will also be futsal courts, the exact number of which is undetermined at the point of writing.

Water sports centre & Olympic-sized swimming pool

punggol sports regional centre - infinity poolImage credit: Sport Singapore

On the aquatic side of things, there will be an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a practice pool, and a water sports centre; the word is that there are a total of 5 pools.

These include an inclusive 50m, 8-lane infinity pool with a wheelchair ramp, holding true to the vision that this sports hub is not only for athletes, but for one and all. Alongside it sits a sheltered training pool with underwater viewing panels, a feature not found in other swimming complexes in northeast Singapore.

Indoor sports halls, fitness studios & archery field

punggol sports regional centre - artist impressionImage credit: Sport Singapore

Spanning 6 floors, the sports hub promises an indoor sports hall with 20 badminton courts, 5 of which double as pickleball courts, along with 3 sheltered tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts, fitness studios, and a gym.

The indoor sports hall, with 3 convertible courts which can support volleyball, basketball or netball, can hold 3,000 seats – the biggest ActiveSG sports hall to date.

Elsewhere on the premises, there will also be an 18-lane archery field – whatever your sport or fitness hobby of choice, it seems like the Punggol RSC has got it covered.

State-of-the-art technology to draw world-class events

punggol sports regional centre - artist impression aerial viewImage credit: Sport Singapore

Not only is the structure, built by Hyundai Engineering & Construction, a specialised one that sees 55m long, 150-tonne heavy mega trusses, it’s also designed to ultra high-spec precision.

Take, for example, their adherence to FIFA Pro Star and FIFA Competition Level standards, or the FIFA-standard 2,000 lux illuminance in the soccer stadium. This is multiple times brighter than a typical soccer match in a stadium, which is around 500 lux.

With 20 badminton courts, it’s no wonder that attention has also been paid to the air-conditioning and ventilation systems too – temperature, humidity, and even the slightest draft from AC units can have a significant impact on the game.

The Punggol Regional Sports Centre is slated to open in end 2026

With the Punggol Digital District, self-driving shuttles, and now this impressive sports hub, it seems like the rising star that is Punggol still has a long way to continue booming. We’ll definitely update this article with more information as the Punggol RSC is completed, so stay tuned.

Golf courses & golf driving ranges in Singapore

The thought of playing golf may scream “atas sport” to many because of its fancy equipment and country club memberships. But, even for those who’ve only had experience playing a casual game of mini golf or at the golf driving range, it can still be pretty accessible thanks to public golf courses in Singapore with on-site equipment rental.

Alternatively, check out golf simulators for a realistic and budget-friendly golf driving range experience in Singapore.

What equipment do I need at golf courses in Singapore?

While many of the golf courses and driving ranges in Singapore on this list provide equipment rental, those who are ready to commit to the hobby should consider getting a set of basic golf equipment to save on rental fees.

Here are a few of the basic equipment you need to get started:

  • Gloves: to keep a firm grip on the club and to protect your hands from blisters.
  • Shoes: you’ll need cleated shoes that don’t damage the turf, but provide traction so that you can keep good form when swinging.
  • Bag: to store your golf equipment.
  • Golf balls: this should be pretty self-explanatory. You can also rent these at golf courses if you’re concerned about losing them.
  • Tees: this is what you put your golf ball on. They look like large wooden or plastic nails and are often painted bright colours.
  • Clubs: what goes into a beginner golf set can vary, but they often consist of around 7 clubs, including a putter, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, a driver, a 5-iron, a 7-iron and a 9-iron.

Golfing doesn’t have to be an expensive sport, not when you get all your equipment on Amazon Singapore. Amazon Prime members can also enjoy free and fast international shipping.

What to wear at golf courses and driving ranges in Singapore?

For men, a classic collared polo tee and khaki-style trousers or shorts will suffice. If you opt for shorts, make sure the length sits just above your knee.

As for women, short-sleeved and sleeveless collared tops are commonly available. You can pair these with similar khaki-style shorts, or, alternatively, go with a chic golf skort for a more feminine look. There are also golf dresses if you don’t like the hassle of coordinating.

With the hot and sunny weather in Singapore, you might also want to consider getting a cap or visor to provide some shade for your eyes on the green.

The range is designed with undulating streams and palm trees, so you don’t have to practise your swings just looking at a wide stretch of green.

The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu

With the abundance of pickleball courts at our fingertips right now, there’s no better time than 2026 to pick up the sport. Earlier in February, the pickleball craze had even infiltrated Wild Wild Wet, and more recently, the Little India Bus Terminal was retrofitted to become a play host to 8 sheltered courts for all to use.

Well, picklers living in the North-East will soon have another spot to rally at – The Sports Arina at Jalan Kayu. Moreover, fans of other sports will also appreciate the new facility, as it also has courts for padel and futsal, along with a swimming pool to cool off in. Here’s all you need to know ahead of its opening.

What to expect at The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu?

The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu is a new sports and recreation facility that’s opening in end-April 2026, and it’ll be located right beside the Thanggam LRT station. This will be the second Sports Arina facility in Singapore, the first being the one at Singapore EXPO Hall 7 which currently only houses pickleball and padel courts.

The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu will have indoor courts for both these sports, and then some. For instance, footie fans can host games at the futsal courts here, and there’ll also be a heated training pool for children. The building also has a multi-purpose hall, which can host community activities.

Additionally, the basketball court currently located where the new facility is planned will be retained and refreshed, allowing basketball players to continue shooting hoops here. While details aren’t firm yet, it’s reported that other sporty activities that could potentially be held at The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu include badminton, pilates, gymnastics, and table tennis.

In consideration of nearby residents, soundproofing measures have also been built into the facility; the pickleball courts will be enclosed, and more trees will be brought into the vicinity to serve as natural noise barriers.

Finally, The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu will be joining hands with partners such as athletes and organisations like Joseph Schooling and local football club Lion City Sailors to further bring sports to the forefront.

The Olympian’s swimming school, Sports Schooling, will be holding swimming lessons for kids 3 and up at the facility’s pool, while the Lion City Sailors Football Academy offers programmes for budding footballers aged between 4 and 12.

Head over to The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu for your next pickleball sesh

Whether you are an avid pickleball, padel, or futsal player, The Sports Arina Jalan Kayu has got you covered. They’ve got courts for all sorts of sports available, so we expect it to become a bustling spot when it finally opens later this month. Ditch the asphalt roads and take part in the National Vertical Marathon 2026, happening on 24th May 2026. As its name suggests, you’ll be tasked with ascending the towering Guoco Midtown on the fringes of the city centre, via the building’s stairs, of course.

Don’t worry, you won’t have to climb 42km worth of stairs; instead, you’ll have to scale about 30 floors, which roughly translates to around 750 steps. Compared to a full-on marathon, it might sound easy on paper, but it’s been said to be quite intense as it’s essentially a HIIT workout that lasts for over 15 minutes with barely any breaks.

The sheer distance runners of Ultra Trail Singapore will be covering is no joke. They’ve got a race which spans over 165km, which is meant to stretch over 3 days; on day 2, runners will have to clock a monumental 80km. However, they also have more “beginner-friendly” races, but even these will have you running a minimum of 20km within 5 hours.

But at least the views will be worth it – we think. You’ll be jogging with the backdrop of Singapore’s most scenic nature reserves and parks, such as Rifle Range Nature Park, Bukit Batok Nature Park, and Clementi Forest; perfect to distract you from the fact that you’ve got dozens of kilometres left to go.

Like its name suggests, the Great Eastern Women’s Run 2026 is a female-focused event; in fact, it’s the biggest of its kind in Singapore. Rather than being solely a performance-centric race, it aims to celebrate female strength, community, and wellness, while working up a sweat in doing so.

Keeping in trend with most of the other races on this list, the Great Eastern Women’s Run has quite a few categories to consider, for maximum inclusion. These include the usual 5km, 10km, and 21.1km runs, as well as the Mummy & Me runs, in which up to 3 girls can accompany their mum to take on a 2km route. There’s also the 100m Princess Dash that’s perfect for energetic little ones.

The Great Eastern Women’s Run 2026 is set to take place on 1st November 2026. Although most of its other details have yet to be announced, the freebies that come with signing up for their runs, especially the Mummy & Me ones, have been pretty attractive. Best pilates studios in Singapore

You’ve seen it on TikTok and Instagram; even K-pop idols say that this is the workout to get on. That’s right, we’re talking about pilates. Originally employed by professional dancers in the early 20th century to prevent injuries and enhance flexibility, this exercise has evolved into a comprehensive, full-body, and low-impact workout accessible to everyone.

Pilates works various muscle groups to build control over your body’s movements, and is a great way to get that spicy beach bod. From “hot” pilates classes to affordable packages, we’ve rounded up several of the best pilates studios in Singapore to check out. Time to breathe in, breathe out, and scroll on.

What do I need for a pilates class?

Form-fitting exercise clothes are ideal for pilates classes so that your instructor will be able to see your posture and correct your form as needed. Men can opt for gym shorts and a more form-fitting t-shirt, while women ideally should wear a longline sports bra, and pilates leggings. Grip socks are a must to prevent slipping on the mat, reformer, or any other pilates equipment.

Types of pilates classes in Singapore

Mat pilates

Mat pilates entails a sequence of exercises executed on the floor, utilising gravity and your body weight for resistance. The main objective is to strengthen your deeper, stabilising muscles to enhance posture, balance, and coordination.

It offers an accessible and beginner-friendly foundation to help you understand the basics of pilates, before eventually moving onto pilates workouts which involve equipment.

Reformer pilates

Reformer pilates makes use of a reformer machine, which is operated through the resistance of springs and pulleys that are used to push and pull the sliding carriage. It is a low-impact workout that targets isolated muscle groups.

Contrary to popular belief, reformer pilates is not necessarily harder than mat pilates. The main difference is that mat pilates relies more on body weight and groundwork, while the level of resistance you get using the reformer can be easily adjusted with its springs and pulleys.

For those with injuries or have a limited level of mobility, the reformer method can serve as a safer alternative and provide more assistance as you do the exercises.

Chair pilates

Chair pilates uses a contraption called, well, the pilates chair. It is a contraption fitted with springs, pedals, and handles so you can get a full-body workout that also works your balance, coordination, and flexibility.

Fun fact: chair pilates workouts are so effective at improving your arm and leg strength that it is a popular training method for athletes partaking in the likes of soccer, rugby, track, and hockey.

Cadillac pilates

Don’t be intimidated by this complex machine that resembles a massage bed mixed with acrobatic fixtures. A pilates Cadillac is essentially a raised platform fitted with an overhead trapeze. The trapeze is able to hold attachments like various bars, handles, and springs such that you can accomplish different pilates moves and target a range of muscle groups.

Cadillac pilates classes are usually an option reserved for private classes. It’s definitely a level-up to consider if you’ve already conquered other forms of pilates. For those who have mobility difficulties, the elevated platform in Cadillac pilates also makes it gentler on the joints to get on and off of, as compared to mat pilates which involves lowering oneself onto the floor.

Pilates Singapore - Tower

If you see the term “Tower pilates”, it’s referring to a more compact version of the Cadillac, consisting of only one side and without the overhead trapeze.

Barrel pilates

Pilates Singapore - Barrel

If you’ve ever spotted a curved bench in a pilates studio, that’s the barrel. Unlike the reformer or Cadillac, the Barrel doesn’t involve moving parts. Instead, it uses a rounded, leather-padded hump to support your spine while you stretch, strengthen, and work on control, making it a good option for improving posture and flexibility.

The ladder barrel also comes with wooden rungs that let you go deeper into stretches and backbends while keeping your balance in check.

“Hot” pilates has been gaining steam in Singapore, with many studios now offering this style of workout. For the uninitiated, imagine you’re doing pilates in a sauna, but Jal Yoga uses infrared panels instead so the room is less stuffy. Benefits are aplenty for this form of pilates, including improved circulation, detoxification of the body, and pain-relieving effects.

With 5 studios located at Alexandra, Bukit Timah, Katong, Kovan, and Woodlands, you’ll be able to easily find a class to join. Get in touch with the studio to redeem a $29 reformer trial class or a free mat pilates or infrared heat trial class. Afterwards, you can drop in for reformer sessions for $49/class, or mat or infrared heat sessions for $45/class. You could also purchase an unlimited class pass from $134/month.

Types of pilates available: Mat, mat with infrared heat, reformer

Jal Yoga review: “The Woodlands outlet is a small studio which only has 1 class at a time. The classes are great! I’m a total beginner but the instructor ensured that I could keep up. I get such a good workout here. The admin staff are very friendly and helped with finding the best package for me. The only downsides are that my package can only be used in Woodlands so I can’t try other outlets, and the weekday night classes get fully booked really fast.”

Line Pilates

How many times a week is it ideal to go for pilates?

3 times a week is usually the recommended schedule for pilates if you want to see a difference in your body strength and tone. However, if you already have a regular exercise routine, then going to pilates once or twice weekly is sufficient.

Is pilates alone enough exercise?

The short answer is that it depends. If your primary goal is to maintain your overall health, then it’s perfectly fine to have pilates be the only exercise that you do. However, for more specific fitness or weight loss goals, it might be better to pair your pilates routine with other forms of physical activity, such as cardio or strength training.

What is the difference between yoga & pilates?

Pilates focuses on enhancing body control and muscle endurance, while yoga is grounded in spiritual practices that establish a connection between the body, mind, and spirit through a flowing sequence of movements.

Additionally, yoga tends to place more emphasis on improving your flexibility and deep breathing techniques. It also tackles broader muscle groups while pilates is widely known for core strength, with most movements stemming from the centre of the body.

Pickle Padel Movement in Woodleigh

Pickleball might already have Singaporeans in a chokehold, but padel isn’t too far behind either. Lucky for us, Pickle Padel Movement, a new pickleball and padel venue in Singapore, has decided to merge the best of both worlds.

There are sheltered courts to help you dodge the midday sun, lounge areas to recover between rallies, and greenery that makes your workout feel less like work.

What is Pickle Padel Movement?

It’s the only spot in central Singapore where you can get your pickleball and padel fix in one go. The courts are also surrounded by greenery, so while you’re working on your backhand, your eyes get a break from all that screen time.

Fun fact: This place used to be an underused futsal turf, which got a makeover, and has now been turned into a hub for anyone keen to try the 2 hottest racquet sports on the scene.

What to expect at Pickle Padel Movement?

5 outdoor pickleball courts & 3 sheltered padel courts

To stay out of the scorching sun, head over to the 3 sheltered padel courts, where you can rally in peace without melting. Each court comes in a different colour – blue, pink, and purple – making every match feel a little more vibey while you battle it out.

Lounge areas to relax & watch matches

The lounge areas are great for cooling down after an intense match or for plus-ones to cheer you on from the sidelines. There are benches, chairs, and even beanbags for peak relaxation. Some sections are also sheltered for you to get comfy.

Group & private lessons

The 2-hour pickleball session covers all the essentials, from rules of the game to basic shots and where you should actually be standing on court. Meanwhile, the 1-hour padel clinic is a quick crash course where you’ll learn the fundamentals, pick up key strokes, and get a feel for footwork and positioning.

Private pickle and padel lessons

If you’d rather learn with others, go for the group lessons. Pickleball classes are split into 3 tiers to suit different skill levels, and padel classes require a minimum of 2 players, so jio a friend and learn together.

Revamped Jurong East Sport Centre

West siders will be pleased to know that the Jurong East Sport Centre has finally partially opened its swimming complex after a massive revamp. You and your little ones can now enjoy upgraded facilities, such as kiddy pools and a brand new splash pad.

That’s not all, the sports centre has also refreshed its fitness gym and has even added a pop of colour with an art mural along its corridor.

What is Jurong East Sport Centre?

Jurong East Sport Centre

The Jurong East Sport Centre first opened in 2000 and was the 1st public pool to offer a lazy river, wave pool, and multi-spiral water slides at affordable prices. Renovations have been ongoing since early 2025 to bring you upgraded facilities, including an open-field stadium and air-conditioned sports hall that were refreshed and opened to the public last year.

But most recently, the swimming complex has been revamped to be more inclusive and safe for young children. There’s also an expanded fitness gym for you to sweat it out. Here are some of the newest offerings you can look forward to at the revamped sports centre:

Jurong East Swimming Complex

Fans of the multi-storey spiral slides might be disappointed seeing them gone; however, the new splash pads and kiddy pools have been spruced up to make up for it.

At the time of writing, the competition lap pools are still closed for renovations until the end of 2026. If you’re looking for a pool to get those laps in, you might want to consider the ActiveSG Park at Jurong Lake Gardens instead.

Splash Pad [NEW]

With mini slides, a spider feature fountain, and a rotating water bucket for that bit of unexpected splash, the new Splash Pad that has taken over where the spiral slides used to be is sure to provide your little ones with lots of fun.

Kiddos can play a game of pretend pirate using the water jets, or simply stand under the many fountain features to cool off.

Kiddy pools [NEW]

The swimming complex now offers 2 new kiddy pools, so even your babies can enjoy some time in the water.

The pool for babies has a depth of 0.35m, perfect for getting them adjusted to the water. Toddlers and young children can enjoy the marine-themed pool instead, which has a depth of 0.5m. It features slides, water jets, and interactive climbing structures centred on marine animals – young ones will have a splashing good time being transported into their very own marine adventure.

Lazy river

Although not new, those looking to simply cool off in the afternoon soon can relax by floating around the Lazy River with one of the free floats available. Circling the wave pool, the river has a comfortable 0.8m depth, complemented by water curtain features and jets for that little bit of surprise every now and then.

Wave pool

The iconic Wave Pool is still serving up waves at the swimming complex. With the pool reaching up to 1.8m in depth, make sure to grab a float before heading in and let the waves transport you to the ocean without you having to even go there.

Admission rates for Jurong East Swimming Complex

Before you head down, you will have to first purchase an entry pass through the ActiveSG website.

As the Jurong East Swimming Complex features pools with water slides, you will have to select the Feature Pools option when booking your tickets. Prices start from as low as $0.80 on weekdays and up to $2.00 on weekends. After purchasing your ticket, a QR code will be generated for you to scan during entry and exit.

Upgraded Jurong East ActiveSG Gym

The swimming complex isn’t the only glow-up at Jurong East Sport Centre.

Gym-goers might have already noticed the revamped Jurong East ActiveSG Gym. With more space to move around, the gym now offers a wider range of equipment, including weights and machines, for you to get your gains in.

Admission rates for Jurong East ActiveSG Gym

Similar to the pool, you will have to purchase an entry pass via the ActiveSG website before heading down. Gym passes are priced at $1.50 for students and seniors, and $2.50 for adults.

Art mural [NEW]

Jurong East Sport Centre Art Mural

The centre now also boasts its very own art mural, featuring a mix of athletes and sports you can try at the sports complex. The vibrant sight is hard to miss since it is located right at the main entrance, getting you pumped before you even step inside.

New toilets

Jurong East Sport Centre Toilets

You might think it’s a bit random to feature the toilets in a sports centre, but hear us out – the ones at Jurong East Sport Centre have been refurbished to feature a brighter interior.

Beyond the renovated toilets and shower areas in the swimming complex, toilets around the sports centre have been spruced up with a more modern look. Not only do they have better ventilation, but they’re also noticeably cleaner, which makes all the difference when you’re rinsing off an intense workout or conducting business number 2 on the throne. We’ve also noticed that some cubicles, particularly those along the stadium, do have bidets.

How to get to Jurong East Sport Centre

If you’re planning to arrive by train, the nearest station is the Chinese Garden MRT Station  –  a 17-minute walk from the complex.

For those considering the bus, the nearest bus stops are Blk 347 and Blk 316, with services 98, 98M, 99, 157, 185, 187, 198, 198A, 333, 334, 502, 657, and 872 getting you there.

The sports centre also has parking available for those intending to drive down. If parking is full, there is also a public multi-storey car park at Yuhua Place Market and Hawker Centre. Both options cost $0.60 for every 30 minutes, capped at $12.

The Jurong East Sport Centre is an all-in-one sports complex

Jurong East Sport Centre Open Field Stadium

With a variety of other facilities, such as an open field stadium, futsal pitch, and air-conditioned sports hall where you can have a round of table tennis or pickleball, the Jurong East Sport Centre is an all-in-one sports complex. Do note that certain facilities, such as the futsal pitch and sports hall, have to be booked in advance, which you can do so via the ActiveSG website.

While there are no F&B options at the sports centre itself, beverages such as MILO and 100plus can be found at the many vending machines around the centre. For those looking for a meal after their workout, Yuhua Place Market and Hawker Centre is located right across the street, featuring a wide variety of independent F&B options alongside the usual hawker fare.

So if you’re ready to plan your next family day out or are simply looking for ways to cool off in Singapore’s heat, check out the Jurong East Sport Centre.

Where To Try Winter Sports In Singapore, Like Ice Skating, Skiing & Snowboarding https://thesmartlocal.com/read/winter-sports-singapore/ Fri, 03 Apr 2026 03:03:55 +0000 https://thesmartlocal.com/?p=387054 Yes, you can do all these in sunny Singapore.

Places in Singapore to try winter sports

When you think of winter sports, you wouldn’t quite associate sunny Singapore with exhilarating powder runs atop snow-capped mountains. After all, we can barely walk 10 metres out of our air-conditioned enclaves without melting into a puddle of sweat. Despite this, there are a couple of spots on the Little Red Dot where we can simulate hitting the slopes.

Here are some facilities in Singapore to try winter sports at, from ones with high-tech set-ups that simulate realistic training conditions, to skating rinks where you can channel your inner Alysa Liu.

What to prepare when trying winter sports in Singapore?

Much like any other sport, you’ll want to make sure that you’re properly geared up before engaging in winter sports in Singapore, be it skiing, snowboarding, or ice skating.

Equipment rental

Worry not – most facilities will allow you to rent equipment like ice skates, skis, snowboards, helmets, and knee and elbow pads, but for everything else, you’ll have to bring your own. Here’s a quick checklist you can refer to before you go on your next winter sport session:

Item Why you need it
Long sleeve shirt – You won’t need thick winter jackets at winter sports facilities in SG

– Simple long-sleeved layers will do to keep warm in the air-conditioned environment

Long pants – Also to keep warm

– Avoid baggier fits so equipment like skates or skis won’t get caught in them

Thermal or wool socks – Avoid cotton socks as they absorb moisture which can make your feet cold
Gloves – For better grip on railings and protection when you break your fall with your hands
Water bottle – Although you won’t be sweating as much, it’s still a good idea to stay hydrated

That being said, you can also consider investing in a personal pair of ice skates, skis, or snowboard if you plan on taking winter sports a little more seriously. Getting some practice in your own gear provides a sense of consistency between sessions, and you can bring them overseas for ski trips of your own.

1. TRIFECTA

Experience snowboarding, skiing & surfing in Somerset

Trifecta
Classes at TRIFECTA come bundled with equipment rental.

Located in the heart of the city, right opposite Somerset MRT station, TRIFECTA is a facility where you can have a go at sports that you can’t quite do anywhere else in Singapore. For starters, you can learn how to both snowboard and ski right here as they’ve got classes that start from $100.

Trifecta

These will take place on their indoor snow simulator which is essentially a white, astroturf-lined carpet that functions like a treadmill. As for the more advanced skiers and snowboarders, hit up their dry slopes which are fitted with obstacles like a ramp and rails, so you can bust a sick move.

Shop

When you need a break from the “snow”, they also have a nifty surfing simulator when you’d like to hang ten. But if you’d like to take your snowboarding or skiing, head on over to The Ride Side, the on-site equipment store at TRIFECTA. From snowboarding boots and snowboards to anorak jackets and Gore-Tex mitts, you’ll find it all here.

Riders' LoungeImage credit: TRIFECTA Singapore

All that shredding is bound to work up an appetite, so grab a bite at the nearby Rider’s Lounge. It’s a cosy cafe that’s a welcome respite from the heart-pumping action next door. They’ve got yummy focaccia sandwiches (from $15) and pizzas (from $18) to munch on, as you load up a record at their vinyl library to wind down with.

Trifecta

2. Ice Penguin Singapore

Ice skating rink in Clarke Quay for ice hockey & figure skating

If Stateside has been the earworm that you can’t quite drop as of late, pick up a pair of skates and have a go at ice skating at Ice Penguin Singapore. It’s the newest ice skating rink in Singapore, and it’s conveniently found at Clarke Quay Central, so getting to it shouldn’t pose a problem.

Ice Penguin Singapore rink

What sets Ice Penguin Singapore’s ice skating rink apart from others is that it’s made from special polymer panels and not real ice, so skaters won’t need to bundle up to combat the freezing temperatures. That’s not to say that their ice skating rink is inferior in any way; in fact, it’s better suited for beginners, as the panels offer more resistance for newbies who’re still coming to grips with their balance.

Ice Penguin Singapore lessons

Speaking of which, they offer 3 kinds of lessons here that cater to kids, teens, and adults. The Learn to Skate Programme (from $75/lesson) is great for those who want a solid grasp on the basics, while the Figure Skating Fundamentals Programme (from $95/lesson) is a step up, where you’ll learn movements such as turns, spins, jumps.

Ice hockey

Finally, Ice Penguin Singapore also has an Ice Hockey Fundamentals Programme (from $95/lesson) which will impart skills such as stick handling, puck control, and passing. The rinks here are also available for private booking, so you can hold games of your own or practice away from prying eyes.

3. Kallang Ice World

Popular ice skating rink in Kallang with rates from $20/pax

Kallang Ice World rinkImage credit: liping cheng via Google Maps

For a few years, the Kallang Ice World ice skating rink used to be the only one of its kind in Singapore, following the closure of The Rink in JCube. As such, many have turned to it to scratch their itch to ice skate, even to this day. After all, it’s still the only rink on the island that uses real ice, so be sure to come properly dressed when visiting.

Kallang Ice WorldImage credit: @keeriyan via Instagram

You’ll have to head down to the rink itself to purchase tickets, as they currently do not have a website up to book slots. Rates here start at $20 for adults and $18 for kids for a 2-hour session, but if you bring your own skates, that gets bumped down to $15 and $13 respectively.

Skating trainers

Once you’re here, you’re free to skate to your heart’s content, but if you’re not so confident about strutting your stuff on the ice, there are skating seal aids you can rent for $20. On the other hand, kids can use the support trainers for free.

4. Nam Ho Ski

Ski club with ski & snowboard camps for kids

Nestled within People’s Park Complex in Chinatown is Nam Ho Ski, a ski club that has years of experience under their belt when it comes to equipping their students with practical skills to tackle the slopes overseas. Whether you’re a kid who has never seen snow IRL or an adult born with 2 left feet, they’ll welcome you with open arms.

Nam Ho Ski

Their facility is home to slope simulators, so you can practice in a controlled environment and master the fundamentals in no time at all. These indoor sessions are perfect for families who’re planning a ski trip but have no experience with the sport, as figuring it out on the snow could be costly and inefficient.

Nam Ho Ski

Apart from regular lessons, they’ve got a child-centric Zero to Hero Kids Ski & Snowboard Camp (from $380) to get the little one winter-ready. Other than learning to become proficient at the sports, they’ll also practice safe falls and recovery to ensure things don’t go awry on holiday. The club will also provide all the gear for their lessons; simply show up in a long sleeved top, long pants, a water bottle, and most importantly, a zest to learn.

5. Snow Monster Ski & Snowboard Academy

Special “enoki mushroom” skiing & snowboarding simulator

Another winter sport facility in Clarke Quay is Snow Monster Ski & Snowboard Academy. Although they might be new to the scene, having just opened earlier in March 2026, they’re definitely well-equipped to teach students of all ages the wonders of skiing and snowboarding.

They’re home to a unique “enoki mushroom” skiing and snowboarding simulator, which is softer than your typical simulator, so it won’t hurt as much when you inevitably fall while on it. The edges of your ski and snowboard can also dig into the carpet-like material just as they would on real snow, which gives learning a realistic and tactile feel.

Snow Monster SingaporeImage credit: @snowmonster.sg via Instagram

Lessons at Snow Monster Ski & Snowboard Academy start from $120 across all skill levels, while kids’ classes start at $99. You can also book open session slots ($80/hour) to practice your newly acquired skills on their simulator at your leisure. Do note that you’ll have to download the Snow Monster app (App Store | Google Play) to book your lessons.

You’ll find Singapore Ski & Snowboard Academy at 2 central locations on the Little Red Dot; they’ve got one at Suntec City and another at Marina Square. The instructors here are as good as they come, all with proper certification and years upon years of experience in the sport, so you’ll be in good hands.

Singapore Ski and Snowboard Academy

They split their learners into 9 different ability levels, so even folks who don’t even know how to put on their skis the right way can have a fruitful session here. All their training is conducted indoors with top-of-the-line simulators, so you can come in for your lessons rain or shine. Group classes here start at $80, while private lessons start at $300.

Singapore Ski & Snowboarding Academy also organises various ski tours throughout the year, so once you’ve nailed down the basics, sign up for one to put your skills to the test. Of course, you’ll also get time to tour the countries you ski in and stay in 4 and 5-star hotels; some of the destinations they host their ski tours at include Guangzhou and Beijing in China, South Korea, and even Saas-Fee in Switzerland.

Pick up a new hobby at these winter sports facilities in Singapore

While we might be in for a long, long wait before we see snowfall in Singapore, these winter sports facilities will have to do for now. From ice skating to snowboarding, consider trying your hand at these unconventional sports; all of these spots are indoors too, so you won’t have to worry about the elements getting in the way of a good time.
