Even if you\u2019re not a gamer, you most probably would\u2019ve heard of Minecraft<\/i>, the popular 3D sandbox video game with infinite possibilities, including mining and crafting, taking part in PVP tournaments in the sky, and building a 1-to-1 scale of your city.<\/p>\n

Now, here\u2019s your chance to step into the game in real life, as the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue<\/b> has finally spawned in Singapore, its 1st stop in Asia.<\/p>\n

What is Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue about?<\/b><\/h3>\n

This hour-long experience<\/b> transports you into the Overworld for a heroic adventure – the villagers are under attack from a horde of zombies, and you\u2019ll find yourself going through 8 themed rooms<\/b> on your mission to save them.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s held at the Green Canvas<\/b>, a new event space nestled within Mandai Wildlife Reserve<\/b><\/a>, and it\u2019ll run from 24th April till 13th September 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n

What to expect at Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue<\/b><\/h3>\n

Try to arrive with time to spare before your session starts, as you\u2019ll enter the experience in batches. You can expect about 25 people<\/b> in each session, and all of you will work as a team to complete the storyline.<\/p>\n

Before you enter the exhibition space, the friendly staff will hand you a cube – this is the Orb of Interaction<\/b>, and you\u2019ll be using it as a multipurpose tool throughout the experience.<\/p>\n

Activate your orbs once you\u2019ve entered, and you\u2019ll get to watch a brief introduction video. Meet your guides, Dayo<\/b> and Tobin<\/b>, who will accompany you throughout the journey, and make sure you pay attention – they\u2019ll teach you how you can use your Orb of Interaction.<\/p>\n

Spawn into the forest<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

\"Minecraft<\/p>\n

The first thing that\u2019ll greet you in this sprawling forest is a pig. Now, that probably isn\u2019t your first thought when you think of Minecraft, but hear us out – you can actually sit on it.<\/p>\n

\"Creeper,
\nCreeper, aww man.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Take in the forest\u2019s lush greenery, and walk around to interact with all the life-sized mobs<\/b>. It\u2019s not obvious in the game, but they\u2019re actually much<\/i> bigger than you\u2019d think.<\/p>\n

Pro tip:<\/b> Touch these mobs with your Orb of Interaction, and you\u2019ll activate sound effects too. For instance, you can hear the pig oink when you pet it. Just don\u2019t touch the creeper if its ominous hissing scares you.<\/p>\n

\"Chopping<\/p>\n

This room also acts as a tutorial area<\/b> – practice using your Orb of Interaction by chopping down a tree or killing some mobs.<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019re done with your training, enter the village and start getting ready for your adventure.<\/p>\n

Craft tools & weapons<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

You\u2019ll find yourself in a large house next, where you\u2019ll craft some essential tools and weapons<\/b>. Remember to look out for materials around the room – use your Orb of Interaction to bring them over to the crafting tables<\/b> up in front.<\/p>\n

P.S. Don\u2019t worry if you\u2019re not a Minecraft player, or you\u2019ve forgotten the crafting recipes – they\u2019ll show you how to craft the items up on the screen in front of you.<\/p>\n

\"Minecraft<\/p>\n

Before you leave, take a close look around the house. Try to spot all of the iconic items around the room, like the creeper head and the Ender egg.<\/p>\n

Build a thriving village<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

\"Building<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve crafted everything you need, it\u2019s time to build your village<\/b>. Your team will gather around a large table with screens on it, with a bird\u2019s eye view of your new village.<\/p>\n

When different materials or tools appear on the screen, tap on them to collect and use them for building. For instance, you can collect wheat to make bread for the villagers, or pick up the pickaxe to mine for resources. Feel free to walk around to collect more items too.<\/p>\n

Pro tip:<\/b> If you get tired of continuously tapping, just swipe your fingers across the screen.<\/p>\n

\"Village<\/p>\n

Just as the village starts thriving, mobs start attacking<\/b>. Looks like someone forgot to put up a fence – honest mistake, really. You\u2019ll get to watch the villagers get turned into zombies from every angle, as if you\u2019re watching a sports play with all the different POVs.<\/p>\n

Of course, you can\u2019t turn your back on your beloved villagers, so now you\u2019ve got to find a way to save them and take back the night. Thankfully, splash potions of weakness<\/b> will do the trick, but that also means you\u2019ll have to traverse across biomes to gather ingredients.<\/p>\n

\n

Explore multiple biomes<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

\"Ocean<\/p>\n

Enter the next room, where you\u2019ll be transported to 3 different biomes – the Swamp<\/b>, Snowy Taiga<\/b>, and the Ocean<\/b>. Open up chests and pick up all the materials floating around.<\/p>\n

Walk around the room and take in the scenery to spot all sorts of creatures, from snow golems in the snowy taiga to guardians in the ocean.<\/p>\n

\n

Fight mobs in the mineshaft<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

\"Minecraft<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t mine at night\u201d is what we\u2019d typically tell you, but time is of the essence to cure the villagers, so you\u2019ll dive into the mineshaft<\/b> anyway. Grab your diamond swords and bows using your Orb of Interaction as you fight against the zombies, spiders, and skeletons.<\/p>\n

\"Redstone
\nKeep the spider at arm\u2019s length.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

When these mobs get too overwhelming, set off the redstone traps<\/b> to blow up the mines. But be careful when you\u2019re collecting the redstone, as there\u2019s a \u201cspider\u201d camping on the redstone block. Maybe get someone without arachnophobia to get the redstone for you.<\/p>\n

\"Minecart\"
\nMinecraft\u2019s closest equivalent to a roller coaster.<\/i><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve ever wanted to ride a minecart<\/b>, here\u2019s your chance. Your team will be transported to the lower part of the mines to fight more mobs, and by that I mean creepers also riding on minecarts. But hey, at least there aren\u2019t any baby zombies here to kill you and your hardcore server.<\/p>\n

\n

Build a Nether portal<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

\"Lava
\nHere\u2019s your reminder to never dig straight down, or you\u2019ll risk falling into a lava pit.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

By now, you would have collected all the ingredients you can get in the Overworld, which only leaves the elusive blaze rods. Time to build a Nether portal<\/b>, then.<\/p>\n

Head down to the caves, where you\u2019ll find waterfalls and a lava pool, just what you need to craft some obsidian.<\/p>\n

Pro tip:<\/b> We actually noticed a sign in this room telling you to look up if you\u2019re feeling dizzy. The lighting changes aren\u2019t super flashy but may be quite overwhelming for some, so do follow this advice or let a staff member know if you\u2019re feeling any discomfort.<\/p>\n

\"Making<\/p>\n

With your Orb of Interaction turning into buckets, use it to collect the lava and water before bringing them over to the obsidian crafting area. Just remember, lava before water – we don\u2019t want to be making cobblestone instead.<\/p>\n

\"Building<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve made an obsidian block, head to the portal to place it. And when the portal is built, it\u2019ll light up and lead you to the Nether. Unfortunately, there wasn\u2019t a flint and steel moment here, but seeing the portal glowing was definitely a sight to behold.<\/p>\n

\"Minecraft<\/p>\n

Walk through the portal, and you\u2019ll be greeted by 2 piglins with piles of gold ingots in front of them – as expected from these gold-obsessed creatures. Your Orb of Interaction will turn into gold, so try trading with the piglins before you move on.<\/p>\n

\n

Battle blazes<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

\"Floor
\nTry not to get burnt like this.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

To get blaze rods, you\u2019ll need to hunt down some blazes at the nearest fortress. But watch your step on the way there, because the floor is lava<\/b>.<\/p>\n

With the iconic Pigstep disc playing in the background, jump your way to the end of the lava pool. And don\u2019t worry if you get stuck, you can also step on the striders that pop up.<\/p>\n

\"Minecraft
\nGear up for when the mobs show up.<\/i><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll find yourself at the fortress gates once you\u2019ve reached the other side. There may be piglins, wither skeletons, and ghasts in your way, but thankfully, you\u2019re armed with all the snowballs you\u2019ve collected from the snowy taiga. With the fortress as your arena, show off your best baseball pitches as you chuck snowballs at the mobs.<\/p>\n

Pro tip:<\/b> You can take down the ghasts by striking the fireballs they spit at you.<\/p>\n

\nFacing off against the final boss.<\/i><\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve weakened these mobs, head inside and face off against the blazes. There\u2019ll even be a mega blaze, and that\u2019s when you know you\u2019re near the end of this intense arm workout.<\/p>\n

Pro tip:<\/b> When your arms start giving up on you, try some underhand shots instead – the blazes are low enough for you to still hit them.<\/p>\n

Brew the potion<\/b><\/h4>\n
\n

Now that you have all the ingredients you need in your inventory, it\u2019s time to finally brew the potion<\/b> and save the villagers. Follow Dayo and Tobin\u2019s instructions as you process each ingredient before putting it all together into the splash potion of weakness.<\/p>\n

With the potion completed and villagers rescued, your journey has come to an end. Celebrate with your team as you see an overview of everything you\u2019ve achieved throughout this experience.<\/p>\n
