Lion City Faire<\/b><\/h2>\n

You might have heard legends and myths about Singapore\u2019s history<\/a>, like a secret underwater kingdom or our very own \u2018Hercules\u2019, but now you can bring your fantasies to life at this upcoming Renaissance Faire<\/a> with a Singaporean twist.<\/p>\n

From 13th to 14th June 2026<\/b>, Lion City Faire<\/b> will be turning Fort Canning Park<\/b><\/a> into a fantasyland filled with performers, cosplayers, and vendors from Singapore and beyond. Here\u2019s a roundup of what to expect at the inaugural festival.<\/p>\n

\n

What is the Lion City Faire?<\/b><\/h3>\n
\n

As the name suggests, Lion City Faire is set in a realm inspired by Singapore\u2019s past<\/b>. A play on Temasek, the fantasy world of Tumasik challenges the usual Eurocentric take on the genre, while incorporating traditional fantasy elements into its celebration of cultures from the region.<\/p>\n

In this reimagined version of ancient Singapore, a collective of artisans and storytellers from all over the islands rally together to throw a festival, in hopes of appeasing the fearsome Merlion and convincing it to become the island\u2019s guardian – hence the theme, Symphony of Land and Sea<\/i>.<\/p>\n

In line with the theme, Lion City Faire will be bringing an extensive line-up of live performances, interactive roleplays, games, and workshops featuring participants from our shores and beyond. There\u2019ll also be a curated marketplace with over 100 vendors<\/b>, and 6 F&B stalls <\/b>with halal and vegetarian options to choose from.<\/p>\n

Held at the Fort Gate <\/b>and Old Married Soldiers Quarters<\/b> in Fort Canning Park, the 2-day festival will run from 10.30am to 9pm<\/b> on 13th June 2026<\/b> and 10.30am to 7.30pm<\/b> on 14th June 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Entry is ticketed<\/b> and starts from $22<\/b>, with free admission <\/b>for kids<\/b> aged 12 and under<\/b>. Pawrents can also bring their furbabies as long as they\u2019re leashed and cleaned up after.\u00a0<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

What to expect at Lion City Faire<\/b><\/h3>\n

From live medieval sword-fighting demonstrations to hands-on workshops and role-playing games, there\u2019s lots to look forward to. Be sure to show up in your most extravagant costume to stand a chance at winning a prize in their best<\/b>–<\/b>dressed contest<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Rock out to local and global acts, including the Singaporean symphonic metal band Sangriento <\/b>and the Cebu-based symphonic folk power metal band Adamanta<\/b>, who will be putting a modern, musical spin on Philippine history and fictional myths.<\/p>\n

Keep your eyes peeled for theatrical shows by familiar names like drag queen Opera Tang<\/b> alongside fresh faces like Drew Pictures<\/b>, who blends musical theatre with pantomime for a touch of campy fun.<\/p>\n

The on-stage programme doesn\u2019t just stop at music and theatrics either. Bastion HEMA<\/b> will be putting on medieval martial arts demonstrations, and you can join in on the action with a Fabula Ultima<\/i><\/b> tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) live show<\/b>.<\/p>\n

While most of the major highlights will be happening from 11.30am to 9pm <\/b>on 13th June<\/b> and up to 7.30pm<\/b> on 14th June 2026<\/b> at the main Breeze Stage<\/b>, you can also catch shorter 15-minute shows by local artists at the Wave Stage<\/b> from 12.30pm to 3.30pm <\/b>on both days<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Calling all the photobooth<\/a>-obsessed people – this is one freebie you wouldn\u2019t want to miss. Photographer Elsa Xinjie<\/b> will be bringing a custom set designed like a frame straight out of a fairytale book, so you know the pics are probably going to look out of this world.<\/p>\n

All ticket-holders will be entitled to a complimentary physical photo print<\/b> per group, regardless of size. You can try 3 different poses per photo session, and extra prints and digital copies are available for a small top-up fee ranging from $2<\/b> to<\/b> $5<\/b>. Legend Tier Ticket Holders will also enjoy 2 free framed photos and 3 soft copies.<\/p>\n

Throughout the festival, you\u2019ll also spot various Non-Player Characters (NPCs) roaming the grounds, each with their own backstory and connection to the world of Tumasik. Whether it\u2019s the half-serpent head chieftain of Tumasik or the inventor-and-captain power couple, you\u2019ll be able to meet a whole cast of characters.<\/p>\n

Take up one of their free side quests<\/b> for a trinket or a story, or top up $5\/pax <\/b>to try out their hour-long Live Action Role Play (<\/b>LARP) quests<\/b>. You\u2019ll get to redeem a $5 voucher<\/b> to use at the F&B booths or Lion City Faire merch tent, so the experience is basically free.<\/p>\n

Delve even deeper into the fantasy at the Table Top Role Playing Games (TTRPG) zone<\/b>, with games run by Tan Shao Han, the award-winning TTRPG designer and writer behind Pathfinder 2e, <\/i>alongside other local studios. Sessions will be held on both 13th<\/b> and<\/b> 14th June 2026<\/b> at the Old Married Soldiers Quarters<\/b>, and tickets are priced at $30\/pax<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Draw your swords and ready your shields – one of the largest medieval fencing academies in Asia is teaching us common folk the art of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). Bastion HEMA<\/b> will be running a teen-friendly 30-minute workshop<\/b> on sword-wielding for ages 13 and up.<\/p>\n

Catch the Intro To Swords workshop<\/b> on both days, running from 11am to 6.30pm<\/b> on 13th June<\/b> and 11.45am to 6.45pm <\/b>on 14th June 2026<\/b>, with stage performances and combat demonstrations scheduled between sessions on the 1st day.<\/p>\n

For an extra immersive experience, sign up for the 30-minute LARP Light Touch Combat Games<\/b> for a taste of action-packed tactical combat and teamwork-based challenges across 3 different game modes. Beginners and seasoned players are welcome. Games run from 11.45am to 4.45pm<\/b> on 13th June<\/b> and 11am to 4pm<\/b> on 14th June 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Slots are available at $5\/pax<\/b>, and just like the mini-LARP quests, the $5 will be indirectly reimbursed via a voucher of the same value for use at any F&B booth or for official Lion City Faire merch purchases.<\/p>\n

This one\u2019s for the real Baldur\u2019s Gate III<\/i> enthusiasts. Theo Solomon<\/b>, the voice actor for the character of Wyll in the game, will be making a special appearance at Fort Gate on both festival dates. He\u2019ll be in good company, with other co-guests including the world-famous Australian cosplay celeb Knite Coser <\/b>with over 800,000 followers on Instagram, as well as local cosplay influencers Ruri<\/b> (@xxruriii)<\/a> and Kiyo<\/b> (@kiyocosplay<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The best part is, the VIP Meet & Greet is free for all ticket-holders<\/b>, so you can save some of your cash for the ticketed activities like the DIY workshops instead.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s a Renaissance Faire without an old-school Merchant\u2019s Alley? Over 100 artists and creatives from all over the globe will be selling their wares, and some of them will also be organising hands-on workshops.<\/p>\n

Cleathercrafts<\/b> is hosting a beginner-friendly DIY coin pouch workshop ($90\/pax)<\/b> where you can experiment with top-grade European cowhide and suede to customise your own creation, complete with an embossed initial and stamp to make it your very own.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll also be selling their own large dice pouch trays and drinking vessels, perfect for a Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)<\/a> game night. Sign-ups close on 8th June 2026<\/b>, and walk-ins are only allowed for groups bigger than 6, so act fast to secure your slot.<\/p>\n

Speaking of D&D, you can channel your inner artist and paint your own D&D miniature hero or monster, with multiple hero designs to choose from. The hour-long painting workshop costs $30 per person<\/b> for hero customisation<\/b>, while monster minis<\/b> are $35 per person<\/b>. All paints and materials are provided.<\/p>\n

How much is a ticket to Lion City Faire?<\/b><\/h3>\n

While entry isn\u2019t free,\u00a0 the most basic ticket tier still promises a packed programme for attendees.<\/p>\n

The standard Adventurer <\/b>one-day ticke<\/b>t<\/b> ($22)<\/b> guarantees access to the marketplace and activities, including faire and stage games, performances, VIP Meet and Greets, all-day NPC personal quests, and a find-and-seek style game of Bounty Board with prizes to be won.<\/p>\n

Opt for the Hero<\/b> standard weekend ticket ($40) <\/b>to get festival access on both days, so you won\u2019t miss out on any exclusive performances.<\/p>\n

Legend is the highest tier, with 1 VIP Weekend Ticket <\/b>priced at $120<\/b>. To get to the festival grounds by train, take the Downtown Line to Fort Canning MRT Station<\/b>, then head for Exit B<\/b> and turn left to Jubilee Park. Fort Gate is a 6-minute walk<\/b> away. Alternatively, jump on the Circle, North-East, or North-South Line to Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station<\/b>, just a 10-minute walk <\/b>from Fort Gate. From Exit B<\/b>, cross Penang Road, make a left, and pass through the tunnel towards Fort Canning Park to reach the festival field.<\/p>\n

Those coming by bus can take services 32<\/b>, 54<\/b>, or 195 <\/b>to the Fort Canning Station Exit B<\/b> bus stop<\/b> located just outside the park, followed by a 10-minute walk <\/b>to Fort Gate.<\/p>\n
